What kinds of food would be served at a fey banquet? Wine and mead, certainly I think. Elaborate displays of entremet are likely.

Licorice punch

Fairies wear boots! You gotta believe me!

Captured young from the opposing court

For evil fey, hearts of mortals that were in love, the eyes of wisemen, the tongues of poetesses and other ironic shit like that.

Fairies are gay little shits, so the food would be flowers. Every table covered in blooms with petals of various sizes. You're meant to pluck and eat the petals. Fairies are also evil little shits, so some of them would be toxic or cursed to turn you into a loli or something. If you're going to a fey banquet, bring your own food table and belligerently declare it to be way better than their gay flowers while also cursing and poisoning your own meals.

Son you've gone too far.

Whatever food will be most tempting for whoever is invited so they can take a bite.

Is she wearing some sort of crotchless bloomers?

DO NOT EAT ANYTHING
DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING

FIND AN EXCUSE TO LEAVE WITHOUT BEING RUDE

It is done by a porn artist so probably. Does a really good job also, too they do so many loli style type of pictures.

>What kinds of food would be served at a fey banquet?

Beyond just copious, just absolutely gratuitous amounts of alcohol in the form of vodka, wine, rum, and mead?

Sweets, treats, n' candied eats: cookies, licorice, cakes, tarts, milk chocolate, candy bars, jammy dodgers, donuts, pancakes, waffles, over a dozen or so if not more varieties of jams, jellies, and syrups, gelatin (that may or may not be made from people bones), marshmallows (made from real swamp roots), rice crispy squares, bundt cakes, swiss cake rolls, cinnamon rolls, two different kinds of banana bread, at least several piles of over a dozen different fruits, berries and nuts, and of course HONEY, enough honey to kill a small village of infants either by ingestion or immersion. (Most of which was likely stolen for the banquet.)

Meats and savory eats: entire deer, boar, elk, and lamb carcasses slow baked underneath hot rocks n' sand and stuffed with lemon and glazed in feyish bbq sauce, as well as a whole court of roasted birds ranging from ones as small as quails and sparrows to as big as turkeys, peacocks, geese- some of which are just stuffed turducken style for that matter- , sausages, meat loaves, meat pies, meat tarts, blood sausages, blood pudding, slow roasted marrow, and there's at least one of their own who'd been cooked and served either accidentally or intentionally as a joke- which they would still eat as fey are cannibals.

Also milk, fey love milk- whole milk or homogenized at the very least. They're not really big on cheese though or bread for that matter, unless the bread is in the form of something sweet n' tasty or bloated with meat they simply will not touch it.
And all of this would be typically eaten with their hands as even if most metals didn't hurt them: they just prefer to literally dig into whatever it is they're eating.

Truffles, died exotic colors, perhaps.

SHIT YOU SHOULDN'T EAT.

DON'T EAT THIER FOOD. ESPECIALLY NOT IF THEY OFFER IT TO YOU.

Even if nobody eats it, it still has to be there, though. Also it occurs to me that I should probably explain that these are... Maybe not GOOD fairies, but not the type to eat infant hearts and things like that. They're definitely largely amoral and hedonistic and will gladly fuck with mortals for entertainment, especially if they're uninvited or boorish, but USUALLY not in a permanently damaging way... Though five years or so-and-so isn't TECHNICALLY permanent.

How I'm gonna play the food is that;

A) Eating or drinking, even invited, indebts you in some way

and

B) The food so delicious that although you can get sustenance from normal food, you will never, ever enjoy it again unless you get a selective mindwipe.

cool idea for an encounter

Also this is really good and useful and I will take heavily from it thank you.

>Fey banquet
Why has no one posted the obvious answer?
Fairy cakes!

I thought the reason that fairies didn't like bread is because it's processed. Which is a bit silly considering how many things on your list are, or are bread for that matter cavate at the end or not.

faerie soup.

Children

Fae cuisine follows the same rule as sausage, you don't want to know what's in it.

Actually, I already have this menu.

It's a little artifacted, but nicely done besides that. I like the idea of the courses having themes. Did you make that, or get it from somewhere?

>Fairies are also evil little shits, so some of them would be toxic or cursed to turn you into a loli or something.
>turn you into a loli or something
>evil

Courts of the Shadow Fey, prewritten module published by... I forget.
Not an amazing module. Shoddily done in some areas, poor conversion, some really obtuse directions and plot.

Shall I try and dig out a less artifacted version?

No, I don't think that's necessary, but thank you for the offer.

Flowers and sugar.

>What kinds of food would be served at a fey banquet?
Other fey

I can somewhat see why as bread is kinda attributed to plainness, you can do alot with it but for something that is mystical there has to be something special done to it for it to be attributed to something like the fae.

Now, what about in this scenario (a character concept I've often wanted to try):

>A changeling who grew tired of humans and is trying to return to life as a Fae and is primarily motivated by trying to find and forcefully re-trade places with the human child that was taken away.

Think like your PC. Obviously any one of us would be down on our knees crying tears of joy, but it might be a general inconvenience to a muderhobo.
