Tacitus' Germania was written some 100 AD and focused on the germanic (a very wide group) of tribes by the roman frontier which at the time was ROUGHLY around the modern day borders of Germany. It's clear why it doesn't make for a good source when describing a people that existed on a peninsula far to the north of the roman borders some 500 - 600 years after the fact.
