First for Mosquito Boy is best boy.

Mosquito original creator here, I got some ideas for moves if you want some of my inspiration?
>Nail Bite-Rushes in at high speed to bury his proboscis into a target
>Solid Nail-Swinging his proboscis and displaying just how durable it is, slicing through practically any material, and no matter how deep its stuck
>Deep Drain-Drinks the victims blood in big gulps to revitalize himself
>Nail Torpedo-By spinning himself rapidly with his arms extended, he can fly twice as fast, becoming a deadly rocketing spear

Chocolate Girl is best girl, on that note

The first game is starting on Monday. We need GMs!

Reposting character from "Square Head" Seis Pat, aka Mister Pat.
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Affiliation: Pirate.

Physical Description:
Body: He has a large and brutish frame, tanned and hairy from lack of a shirt. No notable scars or marks.

Head: As his epithet implies, Pat has a Square Head, which he is very proud of. It is cubic, with slightly beveled edges, and attached by a squat neck. He has black hair cut in a wavy pattern along his forehead and sides, along with a topknot in back. He has a long, thin, black beard that droops down to his pectorals, forked slightly like an anchor at the end.

Clothes: Pat does not wear a shirt, instead he wears a double harness on his chest that lets him carry his signature weapon, the Roku Launcher, on his back. He wears a big studded belt tight on his waist, with a holster on the right hip for his second gun, the Six Shooter. His pants are red bell bottoms and his shoes are wooden clogs.

Personality:
Pat is very fond of discipline and is strict and severe in everything he does. He is driven to be the best First Mate possible, and takes his job as boss of the crew very seriously. He does not do impoliteness at all, and will always refer to others by their full title. eg. Captain Luffy, Navigator Nami, Crewman Nico Robin.

With friends, he is quick to chastise and lecture behavior he believes improper for a crewman, such as slacking off or drunkenness. During downtime, he has a hard time loosening up, and he is easily flustered by horseplay.

The one exception for this is the Captain of the ship. Pat is unquestionably loyal to the captain, and will fold like a house of cards to anything the Captain says.

1/3

With enemies, Pat attempts to intimidate with severe words and the power of his crew. He defers to the Captain whenever possible, fighting defensively until ordered. If alone, he is steadfast and unyielding, knowing the reputation for his crew is at stake should he fail. In victory, he tries to increase the reputation of the crew as well as his own.

Things they like. Pat loves things that are square and will often stop to admire them, such as hedges, towers, or watermelons. He gets a satisfied, dreamy grin on his face when he does so. He is proud of his square head and will impress people by balancing things atop it. He is also surprisingly good at math.

Things they hate: As the first mate, it is his job to prevent people from "Bothering" the captain, and tries to deal with crew issues himself. He tends to get tough with people who get too close to himself or the crew in public. The captain often has to wave Pat to stand down.

Quirks: Pat cannot tilt his head up or down. When speaking to people shorter than him he looms over them. People think he's being intimidating but he's really just trying to see them. He also can hear the Captain's voice from seemingly anywhere.

2/3

Short Backstory: Seis Pat dreams of being the best first mate ever, under an "invincible" captain. Every time a captain tried to recruit him, Pat would test their mettle by shooting them with his Roku Launcher. Only the current captain survived, and was therefore declared "Invincible" by Pat, who pledged eternal loyalty.

Fighting Style: Pat prefers being in charge of the ships cannons. His signature weapon is the Roku Launcher, an underslung cannon with a hexagonal barrel that Pat carries with him. He uses it to shoot cannonballs at enemies when at range, especially enemy ships. He also has a revolver, the Six Shooter, as backup. Though extremely strong and tough, Pat has a major weakness in a lack of peripheral vision, as well as being unable to tilt his head up and down. He prefers to fight at range where he can more easily track the enemy.

Birthday: July 10th

Favorite Food: Tofu

That's Pat. Was originally designed as a Jobber for a One Piece Doujin. The artist dropped the project midway through the writing process to participate in a contest and never showed up again.

I'm liking how the moves work, now we just need to figure out a naming scheme for them.

Hello all, it's me, the guy behind the mermaid from last thread.
I'm back with a Marine this time.
As I was making this guy I realised that I messed up another detail on Lethe, namely her speciality stat. So after this guy in two parts, I'm going to repost her with fixes.

Name - Quickdraw Vegas
Race - Pangolin Mink
Age - 25
Affiliation - Marine
Position - Captain
Dream - Out shoot any Observation Haki

With a Stetson on his head and pistols on his hips, the scale wrapped Vegas is a striking figure even before he puts on his brilliant uniform jacket. Fiery and passionate, he's not the sort to let something go, a stubbornness that forms the foundation of his dream. Very early in his career, the then Sergeant Vegas found himself embroiled in a battle against an experienced Paradise crew. His Captain had engaged the leading pirate but had found himself outmatched when the pirate used Observation Haki to avoid every blow. Desperate to assist, Vegas open fired with his trusty guns only for the lawbreaker to snake around each shot with a mocking laugh. In the end the day was won, not with the defeat of the ne'er-do-well, but the sinking of the pirate ship at the hands of the marine gunners. Furious that the chance to best this pirate and his Haki was lost, Vegas swore that he would become so skilled with his chosen weapons that no pirate with Haki would ever escape his shots again.

[Pistol Specialist] - Through long practice, Vegas can draw his pistols in an instant and is an accurate shot at ranges more suited to rifles. (Style)

Moves
[Electro] 1 PP
Imbue melee attacks with electricity.
[Empty the Chamber] 1 PP+
For each PP spent Vegas fires off every shot in one of his pistols, gaining advantage for each pistol fired. This moves requires each pistol used to be fully loaded and can only be used against targets at close range. (Style)
[Reload!] 1 PP
Empty Pistols aren't much good for shooting. Instantly reload a pistol. May not be used more than once per turn. (1 RP)

[Brace of Pistols] A quartet of rugged pistols in quick-draw holsters. (2RP)

Canonically, the Marines forbid nonhumans from enlisting. I don't even know if Long Legs/Long Arms are allowed. The one exception seems to be Demon Tribe, though they only appear in Impel Down.

I'm making my campaign, and it turns out 80s music videos by solo female artists are amazing for imagery. Pic related is going to be my second arc villain. She even comes with an entourage of Okama.

Even better pic.

Source on that? And do Giants not count for that?

Oimo and Kashi were prisoners that were tricked into guarding Enies Lobby. Is there anywhere else we've seen the Navy employ non-humans? They are run by the Celestial Dragons, who view non-humans as either property or monsters, and so probably established and enforce the policy.

Name - Kalama Lethe
Race - Black Dragonfish Mermaid
Aged - 31
Affiliation - None
Position - None
Dream - To explore all the oceans of the world.

Inspired by the unique strength and spirit of the Strawhats during their time on Fishman Island, Lethe was gripped with wanderlust and set out to travel the oceans of the world. Incorrigibly inquisitive she even hopes to see the islands atop the waves, but fearing the reaction of humans hasn't quiet worked up the courage yet. Lethe is no fool when it comes to understanding the dangers she would face leaving her home, and trained hard to learn the ways of Fishman Karate. These skilled combined, with her natural abilities, make her a lethal ambush fighter in the dark of the deep. Unfortunately she is an extremely technical fighter and her actual bodily conditioning leaves much to be desired. This leaves her far less capable away from the protective embrace of the depths, and she struggles without the advantages it brings her. Still, Lethe's dream drives her onwards and upwards, heading towards light and strange new adventures.

[Frightening Visage] - Lethe cleaves much closer to her fish species than most Merfolk, with a scaleless rubbery black tail, wide milky eyes and teeth like daggers she's a frightening sight. To those unfamiliar with the nature of her race she is sometimes even mistaken for some other type of being entirely. When interacting with an unfamiliar non-fish/merfolk, roll with disadvantage on all social rolls except intimidation. (2 RP)

Traits
[Merfolk] - Can breathe underwater and have advantage with swimming rolls. (Race)
[Ocular Lanterns] - As a Black Dragonfish Mermaid, Lethe has a pair of light producing organs under her eyes that produce almost infra red light. Barely visible to human eyes, this light is acts like natural headlights, letting Lethe see in even the abyssal depths. (Race)

Here's a character I've been thinking about for a while.

General
>Name: Antonov Daisuke
>"Serious and agile spider man"
>Dream: Still looking for one
>Race: Human (12RP, free Trait)

Stats
>Body: 3
>Agility: 5
>Brains: 4
>Charisma: 2
>Will: 4
>Speciality [Technical Fighter]: 6

Quirks and Traits
>Quirk: [Wandering Eyes]
>Daisuke has a tendency to spend long periods of time staring at things, even holding conversations while staring at something else
>Trait: [Keen Eyes]
>Daisuke's can pick up on minute details or movements that others may miss

Powers
>Devil Fruit: Gumo gumo no Mi (Spider spider fruit) - Jumper Model
>Zoan type, allows Daisuke to transform into a jumping spider, granting him extra limbs, silk producing spinnerets, a venomous bite, and incredible agility.

Fighting Style
>Prefers to fight in his Human-Beast mode
>Though he's no push over, Daisuke recognizes that there are those with far more brawn than him. With this in mind he decided to focus his energy on utilizing his strength and speed to their fullest potential. As such, he prefers a more patient way of fighting, analyzing his foe and seeking their physical and psychological weaknesses. Once he is satisfied with his assessment, he will use a burst of speed and agility to move into range and deal a devastating blow.

Equipment:
>Weapons: 6 daggers which he has coated in his venom. The venom is nonlethal, but will paralyze an foe, given he is able to inject them with a sufficient amount

Moves
>Gumo Blitz
>A rush attack with his 6 arms

>Gumo Cannon
>Fires a strand of silk from his spinnerets with immense force, knocking back foes and causing them to get stuck to the silk.

>Gumo Fang
>Utilizes his daggers, he makes as many cutting attacks against his foe as he can

>Gumo Fang (Desperation)
>Uses his actual fangs to bite his foe and inject them with a concentrated does of venom. This is far more potent than his danger, but exhausts his venom reserves.

You got some sauce on that claim?

The hell are demon tribe? You mean the demon guards? Those are awakened zoan users.

I've noticed there are particular people that resemble demons. Examples are Moriah, Hannyabal, Saldeath, and that one guy from the Silver Mine filler.

Also I stand corrected for the Giants, though they may have made an exception due to their power.

Caesar Clown used to be a Marine Scientist, and he's a Goatman.

Seriously can anyone source a canon statement that the other tribes aren't allowed in the marines? Because that sounds like a headcanon to me. Sure humans are 99%+ of the marines, but does anyone believe that an organisation devoted to keeping control over the world is going to turn away anyone born with superhuman capabilities?

Also there was that one filler longarm in the marines, for what little that's worth.

They aren't an actual race, at least never stated to be, just people with excessively strange features. More like similar personal mutations than being a different race.

That's true. But considering the sheer size and scope of weirdness in One Piece, and the relatively narrow focus we have, they could be. Probably something best left to DM interpretations.

If system-designer user is here, I want to propose this as a Quirk:

[Unbending Loyalty]: The character has pledged their life to an individual utterly and completely, and will endure anything up to and including death on behalf of their leader. You gain advantage on all roles to defend or rescue your leader. You are entirely immune to threats, fear, or torture when protecting your leader, directly or indirectly.

Inspired by the Mink tribe, the Germa footsoldiers, and Zoro's interaction with Kuma on thriller bark.

Interesting, but you've made the same mistake regarding the speciality as I did with Lethe. That stat only goes to 5.
That segment of the rules may need to be edited for clarity.

I have a headcanon that the Demon tribe exists but is not recognized as a separate people the way Longlegs or Giants are. They're sort of the antithesis of White Sea people.

Shit, is there a Black Sea? One Piece Equivalent of the Underdark? Nah, that would mean the bottom of the ocean, which is nothing but fishmen and seamonsters.

Oda has made a point of making a character's race known so far so I doubt it. But yes I could be wrong.

Shit look at half the Big Mom family.
Big Mom herself is Human, as is Pound, Lola and Chiffon and none of them look like standard humans

You're right as is Humans are just crazy weird in their variety.
I was more suggesting that if someone wanted to expand on varieties we've seen they could.

The only ones that have horns are Hannyabal and and Caesar. Magellan's and Sadi's are both part of there outfits(though Magellan has a baboon face).

Mutations would be kind of neat for quirks and traits though, as long as they're not too extreme.

Could just be people from a specific island with odd appearances that don't do anything.
Also you forgot someone.

Fuck me I did.

>That feel when you almost got into a OP game, got a character you were happy with but the game crashed and burned.
>That feel when your current RPG group hates OP and shonen in general so good luck pitching it to them

You guys are my only hope, post greentexts of your kickass games so I can live vicariously through you.

Quick list off the top of my head all the non-unique enemies that will need to be statted.

Marines:

Commodore
Captain
Commander
Lieutenant Commander
Lieutenant
Lieutenant Junior Grade
Ensign
Variations of the above for sword, fist, or gun.

Any characters above Commodore are unique enough they should be hand-crafted.

Also on the marine side:
Pacifistas
Blue Gorillas
Cipher-Pol agent
Watchdog Units
Sniper Squad
Bazooka Unit
Neo Marines
Impel Down Jailers

Am I missing anyone?

There should also be non-commissioned marines

Oh and how about some generic pirates!

Blues Weakling
Blues Sailor
Blues Thief
Blues Tough
Blues Gunner
Blues Veteran
Blues Captain
Blues Salty Captain

Paradise Rookie
Paradise Sailor
Paradise Thief
Paradise Tough
Paradise Gunner
Paradise Veteran
Paradise Rookie Captain
Paradise Captain
Paradise Salty Captain

Problem with this is Minks, by definition, are furred animals. They refer to their fur as Mink, and their fur is key to their Electro ability. Not to mention they eat animals without fur, even mammals.

Sea Kings
Mink troops
Mermaids troops
Fishmen troops

Here the pic I forgot

Need denominations for Small, Medium, and Large sea kings.

bump

I guess people don't like Praline.

Also a quality female

I'm looking to make a paramecia devil-fruit and I can see a lot of different uses for it but I don't want to start off with like.... hundreds of different moves.

Is there any way to put a limit on the character that makes sense?
It's a Paper Paramecia - the user can generate paper; either in small sheets or one long stream.

honestly? just make a few moves. uitility can be an RP thing; the moves are fighting.

I suppose you're right.

How big can me tits be, or is there a limit?

>one piece
>limits on breast size
don't be a silly bitch anom

That's not a big tiddy fish gf, it's a big tiddy fish wife.

False. I want to lick her abs and let her smother me with her tiddies.

absolutely untrue Praline is love and aladdin is a lucky man

Hancock's tits alone should break her spine

start off with basic moves you would expect a novice to use (like luffy's was simply steching his arm to punch) then get more creative as it goes on. Basically just make it simple at first complex later

A game is just getting started of mine I will share greentext when we get the ball rolling.

Does Oars count it's quite odd since he's a giant but doesn't exactly look like your average giant

What is the most basic weapozied use for paper?

throwing sheets of paper. they have sharp edges.

Next step up would be origami weapons / armor / minions. Haki infused paper airplane darts

Villager militia

No no no, paper smothers, that's how it beats rock. Suffocation.

If Grug sees this, this is Rider. I won't be able to make it to the game tomorrow. Moving took longer than expected, and we're just now finishing the last load. I will not be RPG ready by tomorrow night. Gomen

i read you, Rider. Do you still want to be part of the game? We already need to find another player to replace the Birkan who never showed up.

If you're still willing to keep me, sure, I should have my room, computer and character sheet set by next Monday as it's just a matter of getting a new desk and hooking everything back together.

The user is able to create holes in organic and in-organic things - think of the Espada from Bleach if a hole goes completely through a thing. But strange things happen when applied to air; the user is creating a void. Air rushes into the empty space, creating an extremely strong gust of wind in whatever shape the hole is in. Probably has a piercing or slashing effect based on the shape of the hole.

Does this sound plausible for a devil fruit method of attack?

This is my Pirate.

Is this a Giant that ate the Crab Crab Fruit or a Crab that ate the Human Human Fruit: Model Giant?

John Giant and the rest of the Giant Squad for starters, all giants and all marines of high rank.

Either AUBrook or someone ate the Bone Bone fruit.

>Not the Doot Doot Fruit

Baroque Works Operatives
Generic Gladiators
Impel Down Prisoners: Mook tier (Breakdown by level of the prison)

Probably just a seaking.

Though crab that ate one of the various fruits that can enlarge would work as well.

Bump

The former.

Generic giants
Zombies

I know the custom ruleset is still being worked on, but will there be custom rules for playing different styles of games? Like playing on New World levels, playing solely Blues tier games, playing at Yonko levels, rules for large crews so there's bigger scale conflicts to represent scenarios like Enies Lobby, Marineford and WCI where vast numbers are at play, or just to show huge pirate fleets?

I'd imagine that Yonko level shenanigans would just be very high level play.

Those guys are regular humans.

This is a bit closer to being Logia than Paramecia, but there is a villain from Jackie Chan adventures you could look at for this - jackiechanadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Kuniko_Kasahara

There is a Paper Logia in one of the video games, but it cant be a logia anyway

Yeah i was just posting in case you wanted some ideas of how it could be used or what not.

infamous.wikia.com/wiki/Paper
There's a character in Infamous: Second Son with paper manipulation too, but she also falls more on the Logia side of things.

Let's be honest the difference between Paramecia and logia in the applications is that logia produce, control and transform into their substance, where as paramecia get at most 2 of the three. Honestly if Oda himself hadn't stated the Dark Dark Fruit/Yami Yami no Mi was a logia, I'd be calling it a paramecia.

I've just read the current pastebin.

Don't you fa/tg/uys feeling you're making the game way too light crunch-wise ?

One Piece is a manga where you can get the advantage by being slightly better than the opponent, and where by training you can get 100 times stronger than you were.

But 4 Agility against 3 Agility, isn't a slight difference. It's fucking 33% more.
And going from Body 3 to Body 41 seems weird.

But that's what happens in the manga.

>But 4 Agility against 3 Agility, isn't a slight difference. It's fucking 33% more.e
Okay, let's say you have two characters, each with one of those two stats and they both want to beat an Urgency 2 Agility check. One will roll 3d6 and the other 4d6, with any dice that comes up 3 or higher scores a success and they will need at least 2 successes.
The first then has a chance of succeding of about 70% while the second has a chance of 89%.
If it were an Urgency 3 roll, it would be a chance of
28% and 46% respectively. So, a single stats point can have a difference in the outcome, but it is not too wide a margin.
Also, the stats themselves are not the total dice pool. They can be supplement with the DF/FS stats or they may be rolled in advantage depending on context and character Traits, further increasing the likelihood of getting a Hit.

bump

Paper mache swords

Paper Mache is for making summons; things like chimerical animal-monsters and destructive super weapons.

And Mythbusters demonstrated that folded paper is REALLY good armor, surprisingly enough.

It's not that surprising.
Some indians even used westerners' book to make armors.

What other ideas for pregens do we have?

Oil logia

Dust logia

Was supposed to start my campaign last night but one player dropped out due to timing, one was in the middle of moving, and one Ghosted me.

Going to try a session zero tonight with the remaining two players.

For the ruleset on the pastebin: if you have a Devil Fruit, do you not have access to Fighting Styles? Do you use your DF stats for any combat rolls, or you have two sets of stats? And if it is the last one, do you begin with all your Fighting Style stats at 0?

Yes, at character creation right now you either have a Style or a DF. Combat rolls will then roll using the stats you have chosen.

I'm working on character progression and the plan is for players to later be able to build a fighting style or gain a DF if they have enough RP, though if I feel this still needs testing it will be left for later updates

Also, Devil Fruits have a RP cost at char gen while Styles do not, so the latter has more RP to spend for equips or moves

I was asking because I had an idea laying around, but it was for a DF character, but the fruit had really no impact on combat. I assume that you don't get to use your DF stats if you are shooting a gun, for example.

If the Fruit has absolutely no bearing on combat then use the Style stats, while still spending RP for you DF. Would this character have any special moves that rely on their fruit?
