Miracle Max: It just so happens that your friend here is only mostly dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Please open his mouth. Now, mostly dead is slightly alive. Now, all dead, well, with all dead, there's usually only one thing that you can do.
Inigo Montoya: What's that?
Miracle Max: Go through his clothes and look for loose change.

...

Princess bride?

...

Nice cookies, its real early atm.

Which horns are besr?

Inconceivable!

I'd say Demon Type, though if I had to pick it'd be Demon B. Unobtrusive, yet still aesthetically pleasing. Bigger and more fancy horns are awesome, they make an impressive statement, but they're terrible for day to day convenience and that's where my mind ends up drifting most of the time.

Satan type, but only if they're especially large and tall. They should be tough too, so you can just headbutt through anything too low for your horns to get past.

Multi is also cool though.

Honestly I like Multi type B, but would rather they were symmetrical.

Dragon Type B a cute! CUTE!

Oh, the horns. Honestly, it really depends on the styles and moods of the characters. I find the multi-types are best for warped/afflicted/changed type, while Single type A and Satan Type are pretty good generally speaking.

Horns are lame. Get a halo, or a crown!

>One wants small and unobtrusive for easy daily life
>The other wants as large as possible and makes daily life fit the horns
How can you two be so opposite one after the other

Opposites attract, duh.

.....I want them both to be girls.

Anything's possible when you play pretend, user

there is a perk for that in unholy heights.

Thank you.

...

Second column (Satan, Dragon B, and Demon B) > All others

Dragon B > Satan > Demon B

Out of this batch, it's between Sheep and Demon A.

So we've got perks for absorbing the supernatural powers of objects, but do we have any perks for absorbing reservoirs of powerful energy that sort of just float there? Like the type of artifact that's just a hovering ball of energy without a truly solid form?

Thank you too!

There's Down The Rabbit Hole from DC Occult for a specific perk. You can't hang onto it forever, but in return you do gain knowledge about it and a new outfit.

As a more general fix, absorbing reservoirs of power energy that sort of just float there is THE Marvel magic hat trick for anyone who's anyone. It's a plot point that unless you're a god or demon or something, all magic users there can't just levelgrind their magic-they're born with a set amount (which CAN be hella high for people like Morgan and Strange), but they're always roiding up from an amulet or a miracle well or a leyline or something.

I've heard that the materia refinery process from FF7 effectively does the same thing but with magitech. Although instead of directly absorbing it, it seems like you get a shiny chunk you can put in robots or power up from.

Just touch it or put it in your mouth?

Put a box around the reservoir. Since the magical energy is now in an object you can get it by draining the object.

> I've heard that the materia refinery process from FF7 effectively does the same thing but with magitech. Although instead of directly absorbing it, it seems like you get a shiny chunk you can put in robots or power up from.
That's basically it, Spiral-kun.

Just for an excuse to nerd out about a setting that doesn't come up a lot:
Basically, Mako Reactors pull life energy from the earth and crystalize it into little orbs called "Materia". These materia can then be used to cast magic. Mako reactors can also just turn that life energy into normal electricity, which is a major plot point for the first eighth of the game or so... but that's not really as interesting.
Anyway, in the game they're equipped into slots that come preset into your weapons and armor, and you can only wield a limited number at a time, because you only have so many slots (the number varies based on what equipment you're wearing; in general early game = a few, late game = a lot, although this isn't always the case). Equipping materia into those slots also has an effect on your stats, because, like... magic or whatever, and so your HP might go up while your speed goes down, or so on. I don't think any materia has JUST positive effects, but the stat changes are really kindof minor and easily ignored.

It doesn't really come up anywhere in the game, but I imagine there's no reason you can't just use materia directly, without slots, other than that you only have so many hands and it'd be difficult to wield more than one or two. There are also robot enemies with magic, so I assume they also can have slots installed.

It's a pretty neat system, even if it does end up making party members mostly interchangeable since all their magic comes from swappable orbs. The jump also states the option to jack Mako Reactors into other things and come out with all kinds of new and interesting crystals with potentially unique powers, and I still have a lot of fun with that, even to this day!

so what I'm hearing is I should make tiny Mako Reactors to stab into opponents to drain their life energy and Weaken them.

You are probably better off getting a specific perk for that like the one in Gemcraft

Spectral: -400cp (discount Apparition)
You have grown strong enough that the wizards would classify you as a Specter, and as such you have a wider variety of abilities at your disposal. Should you be a wizard or forgotten aspirant perhaps you have just researched Specters enough to mimic their powers. Regardless, you gain the ability to drain mana from objects (or beings) through physical contact, and with practice you will be able to drain energy more quickly. Eventually you will even be able to drain and absorb other types of energy that you possess. Your gem bombs and the wasps within also benefit from this and are now able to drain energy dependent on a percentage of damage they inflict and use it to increase their damage.

>Valeria
Ugh

...

Are there any perks that let you completely forgo material components for spells? Perks not D&D feats.

Say what you will about these, the production value was truly ahead of its time.

...Can someone explain to me what the Type-B suit is in BLAME? I'm seeing it in the jump, but I don't actually remember seeing it in the manga. Plus, the description says something about it being from a 'different time'? Is it from Biomega or something?

Val, I have a question about Unraveling from Medaka Box. The perk text says:
>The faster you become in raw movement speed, the faster you are able to do any task at all.
Should this be read as literally any task, even if it wouldn't make any sense? Like, could you use it to teach someone super fast even if they didn't have any super speed?

Intentional Magic from Inheritance Cycle allows you to cast any spell just by willing it.

Pretty much, yeah.

Sweet, thanks for answering.

Do you think God's in His heaven because He's afraid of His creation?

I'm not a picky Jumper.
Any that can be used as handles.

I think it's more likely he turned away in disgust.

Going to have to go with Sheep, though Dragon Ball has some serious charm going on.

>Dragon Ball
Damn you phone. Dragon B/A

Probably the suit worn by the alternate dimension version of killies girlfriend. Later in the story.

What is this? They look cute.

A race of slutty aliens called the puazi. Humans tick all the boxes that make them horny, its a xenobiology thing.

Humans are their personal Asari?

Basically.

Interesting note: some user mentioned they have the same psychology as heroin addicts and InCase agreed, and finished it anyways because he's a completionist.

>finished it anyways
Finished what?

The porn comic they were a part of.

You did realize that it was one after the first line, right?

I mean it's a porn comic, everyone acting like a heroin addict is natural

Hey Val, if we have a robot body or some armor, could we import it as our Relic in DI and be like Machina, with it being our own body then?

Sure.

And how do we get these in jumpchain?

I got them in civilization and I blame the thread. Never ask the thread for suggestions on races or ames.

The comic they starred in.

greetings Queen Valeria
a question if I may
does First Magic from F/SN count as summoning or creating?

Alright, thanks for answering Val.

Are there any perks that can get mind control powers to work on people with immunity or invalid targets, such as machines when using a brain-based power?

Summoning.

No worries.

>Summoning.
That's settled then! And can you use it to summon things that couldn't exist in a particular jump?

>Asari
Speaking of, Prothean females apparently look fairly similar. Enough the Javik said the statue on Thessia was suppose to be one, if somewhat altered. Makes me think they maybe only had two eyes.

Reminder that First is objectively the best. You can summon cake directly into your mouth, and I don't know what else you'd ever need.

the Generic Xianxia jump lets you be a custom race I think

>I got them in civilization
How? The rule there is
>For 100cp, you may choose a race you have encountered on a previous jump, granting yourself a suitable form to lead them.
>you may choose a race you have encountered on a previous jump,

How do your superhero costumes look? Do you have capes, tights and and a domino mask? Sleek power armor? Do you wear your underwear on the outside like Superman?

You can't summon anything that is impossible to exist in where you currently are, barring if you've brought along a location or have some sort of ability that makes things possible, whether that be everything or just specific things.

It's not really what does or doesn't exist in a particular jump so much as what is possible or impossible to exist within a certain jump and it can be gotten around with certain things anyway.

slutty angel costume
thank you for answering
this is really useful stuff to know!

You could have them be the invaders in Generic Alien Invasion.

Always prefer sleek looks. Something like pic related but gold is close to what I usually have,

Oh that would be hilarious.

Geneforge or any sufficiently advanced biotech could create them wholecloth I suppose.

They were enemies.

>impossible to exist within a certain jump
What do you mean?

+100cp - Full Table (Can be bought multiple times) Three rival Civilizations just isn’t enough for you. By taking this drawback, you add anotherCivilization and world leader to the planet. They need not be from any Civilization game or even history, butthey will be balanced as to be an even competition. You can buy this perk a total of twelve times, meaningthere will be you, and fifteen other civilizations in the world. You may purchase this drawback up to 12 times, but you only gain +400cp total from any number of purchases. CP gained from this drawback does not counttowards your maximum. There is a sidebenefit to this drawback however: Each additional Civ makes the world and landmasses larger, so there’s room for all of you.

The drawback can lead to some insane shenanigans.

Exactly what it sounds like. If it's not possible for something to exist within a setting, it won't let you summon those things to you with the First because there's nothing to summon. Of course, since it also counts what is possible for you as well, this is generally a pretty light limit.

Ah, yes, "enemies", I think I remember thread doing that to you now, vaguely anyway, I wasn't paying too much attention.

But if you have the Second you can steal someone else's cake from another universe, and portal it into your mouth.

Would it allow to summon Noble Phantasms if you weren't otherwise able to make them?

Sure.

Good question. Are there any perks that let you enter fictional settings (inside the already fictional setting of a Jump) or summon things from fiction?

Then all you need to do is go to a close-to-real-world Jump where InCase and his weird comics exist.

>enter fictional settings
Blues Clues jump when?

Glitch (Generic Creepypasta) lets you enter videogames.
I think we also have a Libriomancer jump, but i don't know the exact capabilities of that.

For summoning there's the Summoning perk (Mtg Kamigawa). With the capstone booster you can create your summons whole cloth as long as you're more powerful than them.

>Nobu (Okita Absorbido)
Lewd!

From Post-Genesis Wave Archie Sonic:
>From Another Dimension - Personality: From a land of sand and sunlight, you're a magical being known as a djinn. You are lighter than air, able to float easily and casually a few feet off the ground, and with effort of a light jog take to the sky. As a resident of the desert, you can make the flame dance on your fingertips, creating cursed arrows of flame to strike your opponents! These magical arrows are difficult to remove without causing serious injury to both the one affected and whoever would dare to pull the arrow from their body, an effect of their curse. As a being of myth and legend, you can enter the physical medium of a fictional story (such as a book or video tape) and interact with the characters and narrative of the setting as if you were there. Nothing can leave that story, and any changes made within it to your own person are temporary, but you CAN change the course of the narrative and subsequently even the physical appearance of the story (such as changing the name and designs of the book!) Of course, much like the famous genies whom made the Djinn name famous, you can also 'Grant wishes", by altering existing things within your reach(Or at least a footpace away) and conjuring objects/life forms out of thin air, though as a famous magician once said...you can't conjure a thing for your own sake. You can only grant the desires of others with your wishing magic.
Unfortunately, you can't take anything out.

Libriomancer has an entire magic system based around the opposite effect, however.

One a them Mario jumps has a perk that lets you go into paintings and stuff.

Use Window In the Wall and your millennia-developed blowjob skills to get them written into your current setting.

Just caught up to Thread.
>Locations
You could ignore these since the Entity already has you in the Fog and thus it doesn't really matter.
>Tall, Dark And (probably not) Handsome
This one is of the sort that you could, with the recent Killers, just leave as a 'scary humanoid' alt form creator, IMO.
>Strider
The cosmetic effect is neat. Other than that it's a faster movement speed to just above normal human max right?
>The Stain
This is good and I like where it is.
>Impervious
Might wanna mention that dropping a heavy wooden pallete, the ones in the game aren't the hollow kind usually seen IRL, will merely stagger you for a second or two here. For clarification.
>Scratches
This is neat and I like where it is. You might want to note something along the lines of having to actually have been chasing them or something.
>Sacrifices to the Entity
You might wish to clarify what the reward actually /is/ for this one. I think it's basically a shortcut to gaining whatever skill/ability you could have been training for via just giving sacrifices to some dark god but some clear indicators of the amount of skill/number of abilities that one sacrifice can grant needs more clarification.
>Special ability
The limits on this ability are neat and with the general Thread this might just come up with some funny things.
>Cunning
Suggestions here are to include things like having the ability to just 'find' traps via the fog, hide your terror in one way or another (Trapper and Hag do this), and the 'being a dick' option of trapping exits and vital infrastructure for your opponents.
>Brutality
Suggestions are Berserk Button 100 cp skill, improve Hulk to reflect the insanity that some of the brutes get up to (endless stamina swinging an Ax/sledgehammer in the middle of a chase comes to mind, also the fast sprint of nearly thirty miles an hour with the hillbilly Usain Bolt with a chainsaw is scary), maybe put Mori as the capstone.

>Libriomancer
A combination of "the maker was an SBer who initially tried to sneak stuff in" and "Jumpchain was a different place back then" means the Libriomancy offered in the jump has some weird restrictions. Something as simple as "the strength of what you summon determines the mana cost" would have probably been a fine restriction, if it really needed limits.

Why are you still here?

Too bad the maker (blackshadow, right) would probably still try to sneak stuff in out of spite, despite the thread most likely being amenable to whatever it is in canon.

The door's locked, she lost her key, and she's too prideful to ask anyone for help.

Don't be silly. That's never happened to me. Coincidentally, I've also never had to wriggle through a dog flap.

Multiple, probably with some Satan type.
>Not getting both

That's a very strange and specific denial. Who brought up wriggling through a dog flap?

No one. No one did. It's entirely in your imagination.

>I've also never had to wriggle through a dog flap
>Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle
Hellooooo new fetish, how sudden you are.

Yeah user stop trying to gaslight Val. There's no such thing as a dog flap.

Goddamn upside down people
