Is this the decent, pre chuunin exam sharingan, or is this the lolhax post chuunin exam arc sharingan?
Also fuck me for knowing anything about this.

nothing because there is no ninjutsu in my world

I mean enhanced reflexes and prowess with martial arts is fine but yeah

>Is this the decent, pre chuunin exam sharingan, or is this the lolhax post chuunin exam arc sharingan?
this is a very good question
before the introduction of mangekyo sharingan, it was pretty useful but nothing stupidly OP.
After the mangekyo shit was introduced, or even worse, eternal mangekyo sharingan, then it becomes stupid OP with the ability to conjure fire that can't ever be extinguished, tear holes in space with your eyes, and make a giant suit of energy armor that's basically indestructible to anything not retardedly powerful.

Bloodline powers aren't really ninjutsu anyway

Chuuning exam obviously. There would be no point if it was from the later seasons. Like what the fuck would you even fight at that point? You'll just walk around conquering nations with no opposition

I'm playing Five Nations. It makes my PC better.

Witch Hunters and temple of Sigmar take PC for questioning about this chaos mutation. PC gets a bonfire BBQ thrown in his name afterwards.

I ragequiet.

inb4 Madara

Early Naruto was genuinely a great manga. It started going downhill with the Chuunin arc, or rather, its formula changed, although the Chuunin exam, and the manga itself, only became bad once the actual third trial, the one after Gaara vs. Lee and those fights, started. The Orochimaru vs. Sarutobi fight was awesome as well. Everything after that though is unreadable to me. I've skimmed some later arcs to see how it went, and it's all garbage, and /a/ has unfortunately kept me undated, since Naruto stopped being a forbidden topic due to how cancerous it is.

Playing a pathetic gnome bard so literally nothing changes untill I upgrade it further

He commit suicide for having such shitty eye

>a pathetic gnome bard
That's basically Naruto early on.

I swear to god, the little emo fag was supposed to die on that bridge and Jump forced them to change the story because of how the little shit pulled in the fujo audience.

I don't think it was the fujos, dude. It was probably the 12-16 year old edgelords who fucking loved him.

The fucking fire shit was the worst because why couldn't you just fold that into the fire shit the clan could already do?

Sasuke was super popular in Japan, even if people talked shit in the west.

How would this even work in a cyber punk setting?

Really unfairly, depending on what grade you get. It goes from combat precog and eidetic memory to unique super powers and Summon Gundam to revive the dead and talk to animals to Planeswalking.

Yeah he won one of the popularity contests Just before the retrieval arc. Naruto wasn't the most liked character in his own series. Which I understand, naruto was the most annoying and least compelling part of his universe.

pretty well actually, ninjas are an old staple of cyberpunk

>getting eyes of shitstiny
T-thanks.
Do I take the LA too?

Japan doesn't have the backlash against edgy characters.

RIP your HD progression

Emo?

I don't know user that's more for a character who would just sit there and cry about the world all sad and shit

Sasuke for all his flaws never did that, he had a goal and he worked toward that goal even if he fucked up shit for himself or other people

Emo? No, but whiny little bitch? Most definitely

what does the sharingan even do? I've read naruto, but I still am vague on what exactly its powers are.

Copy the abilities/jutsus of others, a simple precognition, bend the time and space, create a armour of energy almost impossible to destroy and create flames impossible to extinguish

Don't forget reducing reality to illusion to save yourself from getting killed.

Also mind control.

fucking hell at least let them keep a coherent theme for fucks sake kishimoto

>Stay away from me, you have pink eye
-2 charisma

Alright I am dumb. I thought the sharingan was purely a mind thing.
But really, bend time and space and those other abilities? Seems like the most OP stuff ever.
Isn't being born Uchiha then pretty much being close to godhood?

Pretty much. Series went super off the deep end.

>that's more for a character who would just sit there and cry about the world all sad and shit

But Sasuke literally did that in the show at several points sans the waterworks.

>Your PC develops Sharingan. How does this change the game?
I literally have no idea what this is, what it's from, or how it's even relevant.

Its a power from dragon ball that makes it so your bankai gains elastic properties

But computers don't even have eyes silly OP

Being born a ninja period will put you on an actual, traceable lineage descended from the gods Hagoromo and Homura.

>Its a power from dragon ball that makes it so your bankai gains elastic properties
I ... have no idea what any of that means.

>Isn't being born Uchiha then pretty much being close to godhood?
Pretty much. They actualy descent from a guy who was considered a god.

He's trying to be funny, he's referencing multiple different anime in that sentence to sound nonsensical and provocative to weebs.

>descended from actual gods
okay. I didn't finish reading naruto. Did it become so bad it's good towards the end? Cause that stuff sounds like they really went off the deep end.

I abandoned Naruto after some point, but yeah, it got really bad.

Final boss was the god of all chakra who was imprisoned in the moon, who absorbs the ten-tails (which is what happens when you combine the one through nine tails) and becomes powerful enough to switch the dimension the characters are in.
Gets defeated by being distracted by Naruto's sexy jutsu

My character just retired from active superhero duty to run a multinational corporation and rebuild the economy of a mostly destroyed city, completely not using any of his already hax super powers to do so.

He will probably forget this whole Shrinkin' thing completely until someone reminds him by asking what was up with that weird red eye thing a few years ago, and he'd be all "Like, I got no idea dude, that was weird."

>Gets defeated by being distracted by Naruto's sexy jutsu
Well, at least there was symmetry.

oh yeah if you dropped it early this shit is gonna overwhelm you
This was the last fight in the series if you're interested, don't ask where all the powers they're flinging around came from, way too much to get into
youtube.com/watch?v=YLP4APg0d6s

"No practical purpose", they said. "Not a real technique", they said.

it will also make you insane, requires murdering your best friend to get the gundam and super fire, and will send you blind if you don't have a sibling to eyejack.

All the planeswalking and gravity control and shit require you to be the reincarnation specific person, or again to eyejack them.

What happens if you only combine two tailed beasts?

>requires murdering your best friend to get the gundam and super fire

Or just having a tantrum about daddy will do.

Nothing, its Ten-tails or nothing.
Think of it more like the Ten-Tails got split into all the tailed beasts, unless you have them all you can't recombine them.

Pretty sure that'd just get you two very angry tailed beasts trying to kill your ass.

I think it was supposed to be something about losing the person you cared about the most and feeling like it was all your fault or something, but it got lost in the flash-backs.

>Going to assume Part 1 Sharingan
My Clerics reflexes would get silly as they are already above average. Being able to read peoples body movements and start a counter before they've attacked would make for some interesting bad-touching.

>before the introduction of mangekyo sharingan, it was pretty useful but nothing stupidly OP.
I think being able to copy all your enemy's techniques counts as "stupidly OP". It's a standard trope in Naruto fanfiction that Leaf's Uchiha (when they were still alive) spent a lot of their time in just baiting high-level enemy ninjas into using all their best techniques, so that the Uchiha could see them, copy them, retreat to Leaf, and have Leaf's technique-invention specialists reverse-engineer the foreign tricks and figure out ways to counter them.

Who cares about tactics when you can win on strategy?

Assuming it's pre chunin exam sharigan, then I'd get some bonuses for saving rolls, as well as in any combat or reaction. Also, perception checks would only fail with a 1.
Expanding it to other classes, maybe it could be used to copy spells from others?

Yeah I forgot they can copy abilities with it.
Fucking kekkai genkai bullshit, I swear the only non-stupidly OP one was that bone-jutsu shit

...

Yea, that's the dream

Meh, he's an anime evil bad guy. Any plucky protagonist capable of truly feeling their inner constipation can kick his butt six ways from Sunday on sheer stupid determination alone.

That's the big thing though, the writer wrote himself into a corner by making him too strong. Even after the MC's powered up with the best shit the universe had to offer they still got their shit rocked so he had to be surprise killed by his subordinate so a new villain that could actually be killed could come in.

That just means Nuruto was not properly feeling his inner constipation (seriously, watch some old eps of Dragon Ball, that's what it looks like they're doing). He should have eaten more cheese first.

the worst part about this is that all of it is entirely real
I stopped following Naruto around the Pain saga in shippuden because I saw motherfuckers starting to take massive leaps in power to fill in power gaps in the story Dragonball Z style. When I saw Naruto's 9-tails chakra mode shit and heard about what all it entailed, I knew they went off the deep end and made their protagonist an untouchable fucking god.

remember when he spent a week learning to make a weakass energy ball? Good times, now he's levelling mountains with a flick of the wrist. Went way downhill from what it once was

I remember when Naruto almost fucking drowned trying to walk on water
the worst part is characters that have unexplained power boosts, like how was Zabuza ever even remotely a threat for Kakashi?

Zabuza was one of the best ninja's in the rivaling village, just cause we don't see his development doesn't mean its outlandish for him to be strong.
Besides that was early naruto, when it was less about strength and more strategy, since Naruto could easily kill Kakashi or Zabuza with the right strat up his sleeve or a surprise attack

>that was early naruto, when it was less about strength and more strategy
Is there a series that sticks to this? Everyone gets one, maybe two broken abilities if they are a badass, and it becomes all about using them well and being sneaky instead of shiting an infinity+2 timewarp beam to disrupt the infinity+1 fate revolution wave, which gets made pointless in the next stage of the fight (12 episodes later) because the villain had an infinity +4 loogie spit all along?

The basic sharingan is bullshit enough that it would break any game it was introduced into. You can see people's movements way before they happen, you can copy people's movements and gestures perfectly, to the extent that you should be able to execute any maneuver or spell despite lacking training. Also you retain this knowledge and can customise what you copy to your liking. A PC with the sharingan is essentially going to be unstoppable if they have two brain cells to rub together, let alone the potential for it to evolve.

JoJo does that with stands to a certain point. A couple are absurdly broken but all of them have specific weaknesses.
For example, the most physically powerful stand to date has shit all for range, can only punch, so one guy with a gun stand can take him no problem.

Except you can because Kishimoto is a hack. Remember when extracting bijuu took 10 S-Class ninja 3 days? Yeah neither did Kishi.

I get a +2 bonus to AC, advantage on attack rolls, and can cast a spell an enemy is casting so long as I ready the action. I'd say it'd give me advantage on dexterity saves, but I already have that.

You'd probably like Worm, it pretty much lives and breathes the 'shitty powers used well' trope.

Well, that's a fucking blast from the past.

I actually gave one of my players the sharingan. It's a mid-level (going toward high-level) gestalt game, and he made a sorcerer/ninja and was making jokes about being a naruto character.

So I let him take a beholder splice, and a permenancied arcane sight, for shittons of his starting gold. Now he can see magic, and with one eye, use eye rays, and the other eye causes an antimagic cone to appear.

I've started to regret it due to the constant disintegrating, though.

Man early Naruto was the best. Just a shame Kishi had a lot of ideas for a dragonball(z) style manga, and not enough for a ninja one. You can see him run out of steam really early, at the chuunin exam. The first two tests are top notch ideas, then the last test is... a tournament? With the preliminary also being a tournament? Give me a break.
It could have been so much more. Or less, if we're talking issues and powerlevels. Shit, it was kinda okay up to early Shippuuden maybe, even if it became db-esque, but then it got so shitty.

Reminder that most Stands after Part 3 could probably beat your average Shonen protagonist, due to the fact you generally can't just charge in and win by increasing your power number to be bigger than theirs.

Seriously, have someone from say Dragonball try to deal with Enigma, Civil War, or Sugar Mountain Spring, and they'd be done for.

Honestly, SMS is one of their more interesting arcs of SBR

I guess he learns how to share? What's a sharing gran?

In theoy yeah

But that gun stand guy is a fucin moron

get booted from game for being edge fucker

Well you know. Elvis Presley suffered from constipation due to his drug habit. Was constipation power the secret behind his unholy popularity?

>Any normal shonen character dealing with Civil War
>Any normal shonen character dealing with Paper Moon King

I hate how often this pasta gets spread around, like it's actually proving something. The only reason Madara sounds ridiculously overpowered here is because it's always posting the really long Japanese names for the techniques. If you actually understand everything he's naming it's really not that impressive of a list unless you're only comparing him to characters within the Naturo universe. He doesn't even actually use more than half of these techniques because a lot of them are just basic stuff that fall under the umbrella of other techniques or are just generic power boosts that mean nothing when he's in an actual fight.

Fucking fag, his is the gayest shit.

Great, I hope you're happy. I had to stab out my own eyes to stop the weaboo from spreading.

Only the copying and precognition are Sharingan abilities though - the rest are Mangekyo Sharingan abilities that aside from the energy armor are unique to each individual eye, so any given user can only use two of those at once.

To be fair one could always evolve the sharingan to the mangekyo but unless the pc is related by blood to one of the Uchiha with known mangekyo abilities it's not possible to tell what their unique abilities would be. Hell, even if they were related the differences can be large - Sasuke doesn't have Tsukuyomi at all but has abilities related to the Amaterasu flames in both eyes, which both function differently from how Itachi uses it. Itachi always casts it at the focal point of his eye's vision while Sasuke more generally "casts" some with one eye while he can freely reshape and extinguish the flames with his other.

So really, just go nuts. You get two unique broken abilities on top of everything else, so make up something fun. It's not like the abilities in canon follow any logic or coherence anyway.

Any great personal tragedy will do I believe, do you do need to implant the eyes of someone you have a close blood relation to to get the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, which makes all the abilities aside from Izanagi and Izanami spammable, because of course it wasn't overpowered enough yet.

I'm a GM more than a player these days...and it would be kinda redundant with the main antagonist the PCs are facing. Her entire thing is that she's a magic thief due to a very damaged native ability to use magic.

I guess the precog would be handy?

Mangekyo existed in part 1, at the very least Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi did.

>Kono yo no Kyuseishu is just a meaningless title
>Madara couldn't use Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi - his unique Mangekyo abilities were never revealed and he isn't closely related to Itachi and Sasuke anyway so it's unlikely he'd have them even in the best case scenario
>Enton Amarerasu is specifically Sasuke's technique of controlling Amaterasu so even if he had Amaterasu he wouldn't have this variation
>Madara has access to both Rinnegan and Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan somehow?
>Katon and probably some more of these are just regular jutsu that any ninja can use even without special eyes

There's probably more and I know that it doesn't matter for the joke but it bothers me how people go "yup this is all true and relevant" when they see it

Unless the writers are really careful, all stories follow the same path when sequels and continuing story arcs start piling on. Dragonball Z is a good example, although probably not the earliest. The stakes keep getting raised, stuff that was originally important only to the cast gets upgraded into matters of cosmic importance, and the characters transform from mortals facing challenges into physical gods.

You're fantastic.

I thought OP meant personal computer and I just thought about my poor computer that would now have to watch me intensely watch me fap to loli-vore.

>the ten-tails (which is what happens when you combine the one through nine tails)
This is fucking hilarious. Are you sure that's not a fanfiction?

That's a not fantastic example. Negima is what happens when a writer is told 'no, you can't make a shonen. Your big success was harem, so make another one'

Jojo was mentioned already but Hunter x Hunter is also pretty good. The way their anime magic system works is that you can make techniques stronger by adding more drawbacks, making what is normally a thing the writer needs to stick to in order to keep everything balanced into a fundamental part of the magic system itself. This makes a huge difference since the characters know this too.

For example, there's a dude who can steal other people's unique abilities - actually steal, so only he can use them when he's stolen them. However, one opponent he faces correctly deduces that the number and severity of the conditions he'd need to meet to steal abilities would be impossible for him to meet while fighting him, even without needing to know anything else about his ability-stealing ability other than what it did.

Is that actually what happened, or is that just an after the fact explanation?

But fair point. I'm trying to think of non-anime examples now. Star Wars, The Matrix, and Pirates of the Caribbean come to mind. Especially PotC for "stuff that was just sort of there becoming mystically significant".

I can't think of any games, unless they're sequels to an existing universe. (The Force Unleashed comes to mind. Probably that's because you get a lot of content released all in one go, so whatever the upper limit is going to be is being written at the same time as the starting point. Soul Reaver, maybe, although mostly focused on the Soul Reaver when it hijacked the title. In the first game it was just another piece of equipment. Sadly, I don't have the raziel fighting raziel using raziel picture to illustrate how much that changed.

>Is that actually what happened, or is that just an after the fact explanation?
It's true. The author was told to make another shoujo, so he gradually changed into a battle shonen

You forget the most important. Like always, user, you should focus on what is actually relevant, and eschew the irrelevant tidbits. That's what happen when you don't listen in high school.

The god of all chakra is a cute.

Though we can all agree that the series definitely got better when it hit the Shonen elements and Negi finally grew a pair of balls instead of being the eternally pussy-whipped harem protag.

Plus it gave us Jack Motherfucking Rakan, as well as the character development of best girl Chachamaru

The Sussanoo alone is way too powerfull. The vast majority of ninjas would not be able to even hurt him

Because it's "Blaze" element chakra, not "Fire". The only way to manipulate it is with Sasuke's second Mangekyo Sharingan, Kagutsuchi, which gives him the ability to do crazy stuff with Amaterasu instead of use Tsukuyomi like Itachi. If you don't have Kagutsuchi all you can do is point and shoot.
