planning a game (^: but theres so much downtime inbetween sessions because so many of the players wont schedule and we're all good friends so he's too much of a coward to tell them to fuck off

We have several gms that rotate around every now and then

>gm 1; when needing to name a random npc uses dice to randomly select a player to name him, and then rolls again for another pc to describe him. Usually mundane stuff but sometimes hilarity ensues.

>gm 2; if the group has a habit of leaving bad guys half dead he'll have them show up again later carrying the scars and a grudge.

Gm 3; rolls with whatever happens, even if it's goddamn silly or not anywhere close to what he planned, combats getting annoyed by these situations by drinking when they arise, making the results all the more entertaining.

GM 1: Feeding our insane bullshit with just as inane nonsense to play off of. I'd say it's a party of murderhobos, but it's more a party of insane mercs.
GM 2: The guy is great at improv. Yeah, the guy makes maps (good ones too), but he has always managed to solve a quiet moment. He also has the best grip of the rules in the group and is friendly about clarification, which is nice.
Gm 3: Frankly I'd be happy to just have the game even begin. He told us about months ago, and we meet up online so it's not like we need to get together in-person every week/month.

Letting us get away with the shit we get away with most of the time.
Being an all around cool dude.
Voice acting every NPC (even if they all end up being scottish or russian unintentionally)
Running the game.

I wish you guys were my players.

Being able to squeeze a game out of even the most hardcore kickbackers I've seen. I've never met a man that can create a session out of the "my character wants to sit down and eat his own snot" crowd.

If Muhammad doesn't get to the mountain and all that.

Why? Is your table cancer?

Most tables are

Good players are rare

GM 1: Cannot make up his mind on anything, keeps the same orginazations and nation names on every new world and map since day 1. Constantly tries to make my characters who are in general just terrible people feel welcomed and loved.
GM 2: Non-chalant about the biggest worldchanging events in his game. Even the NPCs are chill about their Lord's being assassinated and faced with the possibilty of them going to war.

Listens to my advice. I've been playing 5e since release and he only got into it recently, so I'm giving him advice on how to play and showing him how things work, and it's so fucking nice that he actually listens to me.

>you're dm

We have a few dm's
Let's see

>DM 1: he does really good combat encounters, and is able to adapt to whatever silly thing we come up with.
>DM 2: he does a lot of games, like an insane amount, I've seen him run 3 games a week.
>DM 3: manages our group really well, keeps anyone from getting bored if someone ends up wandering off to do something Seperate on their own.
>DM 4: old bloke. Hes quite good with NPC's they're always memorable and interesting.

My dm only gives me the tip

He just can pull a world out of his ass you want to live in forever.

that sounds fun as fuck

Ok, time to be a bit of a sap.

While I've had a few shouting matches with my GM, he is honestly the best damn one I've seen and I couldn't ask for anything else.

He doesn't let his biases get in the way of having fun(He doesn't like Magic and stuff in Pathfinder because of the power, but he doesn't nerf it or do some stupid shit).

He puts together good stories that encourage roleplay over rollplay.

Actually does GMPCs well, actual characters with flaws.

Encourages the use of third party/homebrew content that is well balanced, will adjust things to help make a concept work.

Surprisingly punctual, compared to most other GMs I've seen.

Really receptive to constructive feedback, has been asking for it.

I honestly have no major complaints about the guy. I feel a bit bad that he's kind of a forever-GM of our group, but I've been running a game for him, and while I hate running combat, it has been a pretty fun time.

I only recent found out about Gunsmith Cats because of one random Veeky Forums user posting a picture from it, now I can't help but smile any time I see it posted again.

It was such a nostalgic delight to watch and I'm shocked it was never picked up.

Something similar with me, picked up the anime and then the manga after i saw it on /k/ a few years ago. Super comfy, top tier heroine.

>that you're dm does
He doesn't do this, that's a favourite of mine.

A lot of the source material was pretty pulpy and had erratic release. It was just a little too mundane for your average American anime consumer at the time. Plus the manga would go on these meandering asides about the /k/ology and Veeky Forumsology of the guns and cars. It's a great read but it reads autistically and there were issues with stopping and starting again, you had a bean manga and then you had gunsmith cats..even the write-up on it's publication difficulties is a little hard to find. But its a beautiful set of OVAs. Check out Riding Bean if you want a little more.

I found out about it by browsing through ancient diaper porn fanart

Rally looks amazing with a padded butt

Begone

Are you talking about Magpie?

Fuck, I forgot these guys weren't the dirty pair.

Yeah, they were chill. Rally was the nicest thing ever.

Also, I'm a bit surprised they never expanded the anime series. I guess it did not sell well enough in Nipponia?

They roll with the silliness a lot and are pretty good at impromptu character reactions and conversations.

>Check out Riding Bean if you want a little more.
Oh shit, I haven't seen that in ages, thanks for reminding me!

What a pleasant surprise to see so many other user's who appreciate such a charming Ova like Gunsmith Cats, warms the cockles of my heart.

Except you.

The whole thing was fantastic, the infiltration of the bag guys base in the first episode was great, shirtless Rally with a torn bra will be the single best piece of fanservice in Anime for all time.

Shush! Do not disrespect Rally's diaperbutt.

It's good service because it's not attached to some gormish retard who exists only as a vehicle for such things. Rally is an operator.

The source material had publication issues and took a turn for the unfortunate in some cases. (Weird pedophilic relationship shit). There were some issues with rights that prevented Bean from being used which led or rather hampered Cats, which had a six year run, then a sequel in the mid 2000s called BURST. Ultimately the market for crime drama and anime pulp fiction was poor in the 90s and worse in mid 2000s. The creator seemed to give up towards the end of it's first run and everyone says BURST didn't live up to the original.

>Weird pedophilic relationship shit
Yeah, I remember reading some criticism of the art which said that women only appear as child like dolls with pubic hair, which kind of made me go back and think about the characters. All the adult women are pretty child sized, in terms of size just look at fucking Rally and May in comparison to the Detective.

I meant more about Mays relationship.

Ah yes and who could forget the MAGIC CHINESE TEA WHICH KEEPS ME THE SIZE OF A CHILD TEE HEE

My DM is running a game for us, and is the only one with any experience with the system. He’s calm and makes sure to explain what he’s seen people do and gives gentle pushes towards not dying without hand-holding.

He also has shit luck with his dice, making our shenanigans extra fun.

Sums up generally what happened last session so we're instantly in the mindset we were when we left off.

When he doesn't kill off my character cause I looked at an NPC the wrong way

Why do I like late 90's anime aesthetic so much?
I started watching Outlaw Star because of a gif, and this will be next.

One of my DMs is pretty good at adapting to our bullshit.

One of my favorites turned into an episode of Twin Peaks
>Playing game of blind DnD
>DM explains we can only determine what we are through context, no direct questions
>Decide to play Dale Cooper. Talk to someone who isn't there.
>People stare at my character, but I keep getting good rolls on bluff.
>Game turns into a murder mystery.
>No one is actually dead. I just convinced the sheriff someone was dead and it spiraled out of control
>Other characters start to play along and adopt rough equivalents of characters from Twin Peaks based on context
>Final reveal of BBEG, DM asks us all to roll perception
>Everyone fails
>BBEG walks through door.
>It's Diane

Well, keep whining, then they'll give you the shaft.

>Why do I like late 90's anime aesthetic so much?
>I started watching Outlaw Star because of a gif, and this will be next.

My dude, user, if you're just starting your 90's anime adventure, holy shit do I envy the good time you're about to have.

If you're at all into modern-fantasy, I'd be delighted if you'd join me as the only other person in the world who's seen Hyper Police. It's basically a Shadowrun Anime.
