Epic is an old specialist game from GW that was discontinued years ago, since then the community has taken over. Recently there have been rumors of FW releasing new Adeptus Titanicus rules soonish in early 2018.
>Where do I get the rules? tp.net-armageddon.org/ It's based off of the Epic Armageddon rule set, otherwise known as Epic 4th Ed, with some minor changes and new army lists. You can find the Epic30k supplement at www.epicau.com
>Where do I get those fan made minis that show up everywhere? You go on any of the Facebook groups for Epic and lurk. Eventually ask politely if anyone has them for sale or trade and you might get a PM from someone who has contact info. Asking outright as your first message in any of these places will get you ignored.
>Where else can I get miniatures? There is a lot of old epic stuff on Ebay and some manufacturers produce good proxies, like vanguardminiatures.co.uk/ and www.onslaughtminis.com.
>What's the game like? Players alternate using parts of their armies called formations rather than moving and fighting with their entire force. Morale and fatigue is represented by giving “Blast Markers” to a formation when something bad happens to it, which gradually makes it less effective and stops more and more units in the formation from acting until they rally. The scale makes units with longer range weapons or high movement speed stand out more, makes maneuvering more important and allows for the use of many units that are super heavy or above in Warhammer 40 000, such as baneblades, fliers, knights and even titans. While still keeping regular tanks and infantry relevant and effective. The new 30k stuff is also great, thought development is apparently dead.
first eldar army will consists of 2 starter collection sets both being the one with wraihtgaurds and farseer. Is this a good place to start an eldar army?
Nathaniel Russell
Yeah, infantry sets are great for any army. They're hard as hell to find, too.
Are they the 3rd/4th ed. boxes with 2 stands of each aspect warrior as well?
Anyone from Aus know what’s up with the HH supplement development? It’s been pretty silent almost all year.
Isaiah Torres
Are there any rules for Dark Angels, Deathwatch and Sisters of Battle somewhere ? I fucking wish my city had a bigger miniature scene so we could have some more variety.
Juan Rodriguez
What city are you in?
Isaiah Fisher
Apparently EpicUK and EpicAU both came out with experimental SoB lists:
Kinda retarded i guess considering the rules are free and such. But how does army construction work in epic? Im interested in picking up a small scale game and i fukking adore 40k.
John Roberts
Does someone have the infographics will all the official and fanmade rule sets (netEpic, Epic UK, FERC,...)
Depends on the army/codex. You have formations made of a bunch of different units (or one single unit in the case of big warmachines like Warlord titans). A formation moves/shoots/charges as one and has to respect cohesion rules. Usually you have formations with optional add-ons (think 40k army), and secondary formations.
For example you get one IG mechanized company, you can add leman russes to it, and buy an independant platoon of sentinels to go with it. Orks will get a big band of whatever you want to put in it.
Charles Nelson
There's one in here.
It's rather restrictive for most armies, and more like in Flames of War. Each army can have several different lists that represent one style of fighting.
For example, the IG list that the EA rulebook came with was Steel Legion, which can be used for any world's IG army but really it's a mechanized IG list. There's a NetEA "Minervans" list if you want to take all tanks. They make you take a few core companies and each one lets you take a couple of support platoons - smaller, more varied formations. You usually max out the support platoons because in Epic Armageddon you want as many activations as you can get, which means minimizing the expensive formations (aim for 10 in a 3000 point list). It gets tricky with IG, a little too much imo.
Marines are much more free-form.
Jackson Smith
cool, thanks. I know of netepic, but what are the differences between the various EA sets? Do the rules differ a lot or is it just different army lists?
Brody Ross
NetEA, EpicUK and EpicAU all use NetEpic:Armageddon rules. The only differences are the army lists.
Matthew Edwards
so there isn't really anything equivalent of a HQ 2 troops like in 40k?
Josiah Martinez
There are Line Detachments and Support Detachments. Usually for every Line Detachment, you are allowed to take a couple Support Detachments. Also sometimes there’s a 33% on certain types of Detachments.
I mainly play Epic30k, so Lords of War/Allies are restricted to being no more than 33% of your army list.
Brayden Hill
No, you do have a Supreme Commander, and certain limitations on army comp, but it isn't really like 40K construction.
Christian Cruz
NetEA, EpicUK, and EpicAU are just different groups that maintain army lists for Epic Armageddon.
NetEA has the most variety but moves slowly - there are a ton of experimental or developmental lists in the Tactical Command forums (not on net-armageddon.net's Tournament Pack) and you can write your own and post it there for feedback. Each list needs a certain number of battle reports to move on to the next stage of development.
EpicUK is specifically focused on the UK tournament scene. They adjust points more quickly than NetEA based on tournament results.
Australia generally uses NetEA lists but was thinking of making its own adjustments due to its different tournament meta. They also do the Horus Heresy lists (which do add a couple of little rules - the others try to use the existing special rules).
No. There are HQ-type units with special rules like Commander or Supreme Commander. Theyr'e usually upgrades to one of your infantry stands. Some lists require that you take one.
The closest thing is that some lists make you take one core company for every X support formations. And there's a limit (usually 33%) on "allies". It's not the usual meaning of the word - it usually means flyers and titans, and they're on each list rather than somewhere else. Fluffwise, if you're Imperial of some sort then it means asking the Imperial Navy and/or Collegia Titanica for help.
Eli Price
Who makes these models?
Brayden Long
A defunct forumware caster.
Elijah Taylor
Honestly, if you are into Epic it's not even far reaching to just learn how to make stuff yourself. 6mm really isn't rocket science, you have to worry about details far less than with 28mm or bigger.
Angel Smith
bump
Nicholas Rivera
Don't bother, the only people who know are distrustful after some casters got narc'ed and C&D'd. Get to know people in the Tactical Command forums by posting painted models there (3rd party or eBay) until they know and trust you, then ask via PM.
Josiah Wood
Ok thanks for the tip!

Epic looks pretty cool, and the Onslaught Dark Eldar look great! I wonder how easy it is to make an army with the NetEA list?
>$6 for 25 infantry figures (5 bases) >each formation of infantry is 6 bases
bloody hell
Joseph Davis
I didn't look closely but you can probably fill that 6th stand with guys from the command pack.
Charles Powell
How long is a game usually?
Noah Sullivan
No, but army lists tend to have restrictions in order to keep it themed and balanced.
Colton Wright
About two to three hours depending on size, experience, etc.
Easton Myers
The game has a max turn limit of 4 but it’s alternating activations. I’m pretty new to the game so an average game takes me about 3-4 hours since we’re looking up rules.
Parker Wood
How much do you think it should cost?
Under $2 per unit is reasonable.
Nicholas Flores
Christmas eve is almost here!
The next two days are going to be a castathon.
I am looking forward to pushing some stuff out.
Michael Edwards
The Emprah in 6mm.
Bentley King
and some dreads by the same guy
when I see shit like this I think "what's even the point in trying to be a decent painter?"
Jackson Sullivan
It is best to avoid the French and Italian forums unless you want to feel completely inadequate.
Isaac Davis
How do Squats play in Epic?
Michael Nelson
Pretty solid.
Cooper Moore
Cool. You should join the discord. No assholes on there.
Jonathan Murphy
It's a trap.
Wyatt Miller
How do you know I am not already on there?
Cameron Butler
Are you doing any terrain?
Kevin Reyes
I will have a round of terrain, trench system, dugouts and bunkers.
Try to get 10+ activations (which means go easy on formation upgrades), make sure you have some anti-air bubbles or a fighter formation or two, and a good mix of anti-personnel, anti-tank, MW/TK, etc. The NetEA and EpicUK lists are better internally balanced than the originals so you can’t go too wrong, but they still aren’t perfect. We can help if you know which army you’re getting into. Formations of 3 vehicles tend to suck because one kill breaks it (1 blast marker for coming under fire + 1 for losing a unit = 2, and you’ve only got 2 units left) so avoid those unless they’re the kind that stay back.
Most of the killing happens in engagements, so be sure to assault formations that have taken a blast marker - which means taking upgrades for assault formations that allow one unit to fire, like Attack Bikes in Space Marine Bike formations. Anything without a transport is either defending your rear objective, garrisoning (in the scenario rules), or you know what you’re doing because getting slow units forward in time is tricky.
I’d drop the infantry co. and take two support platoons, like maybe more sentinels and a super heavy tank. But don’t worry about it. At 2000 points you can’t round out a force and it’s a good start for a 3000 pointer.

has anyone else got good proxies for Tau?
Wyatt Hughes
Other than onslaught miniatures I mean.
Jordan Morris
Not really
Isaiah Brooks
Damn, alright.

It is an epic armageddon Christmas!
Santa of resin is here and my elves have completed work on many many toys for the Veeky Forums epic playing boys.
Why don't you have a seat on Santa’s lap and post your wish list of 40k\30k models you would like Santa to bring you for Christmas along with a contact email.
I do have a few caveats.
First, I would prefer to only gift items to people who do not already have access to the various models from other casters.
If you know where to obtain recasts etc.. please support the casters and do so rather than taking advantage of my generosity.
Second, please be an actual player who wants to use the models, don't be model horder that will simply add the stuff I send to a collection never to be touched.
I want this stuff to be used!
Third, USA only, I am very sorry to my UK, European and Australian brethren but the shipping costs to send things would exceed my budget very quickly.
Finally, please don't just turn around and sell what I send you on ebay, I constantly review auctions for epic items and I will know if you do.
Don't make me regret allowing the power of the Christmas spirit to overtake me.
I will be monitoring this thread and the discord chat until at least 12:00am central time.
Talk to you soon.
Aiden Sanders
Damn no UK service :P
Bumping to assist you.
Nicholas Cruz
I'd love to see some Tau or maybe even some titans! I'll be sure to use them, but I have no idea if there'll be a epic scene where I'm going next... My email is [email protected]
Brayden Rodriguez
You are not on my naughty list so an email has been sent.
Asher Williams
You are awesome for doing something like this. This would be an amazing to have a 30K Army. I wish I can have an army that can fits an Emperor’s Children theme. My email is: [email protected]
You are epitome of the spirit of Christmas!
Michael Taylor
I don’t need anything but thank you for helping out the community.
Carson Bell
Reindeer have dispatched a response email.
Brandon Thompson
Unfortunately not. I ripped the sprites from the vassal module and I'm printing them as counters.
Some Thousand Sons stuff would be pretty cool to have, 30k or 40k I like em both (although 30k would probably look nicer). Email is [email protected]
Nathaniel Parker
Don't you send to EU ever, even when you sell stuff? If so, would it be possible to leave an adress here so we could get in touch about any EU recasters and forumware people if you know any contact informations?
Christian Russell
Response has been sent.
Ian Brown
Saw your post about doing something cool for Christmas but never expected this! I've always been interested in doing a night lord epic army and would love to have some. Email: [email protected]
PS Konrad and Sevetar are the best
Thanks again user!
Landon Smith
I do send to the EU etc.. under normal circumstances.
If I had information about EU recasters I do not feel it would be appropriate to share the contact info with unknown people.
I am sure you understand.
Cooper Bailey
Also while we're at it, are there any Warmaster or even B5A guys around? I know generic Fantasy isn't as hard to get and in some cases you can use some pieces from 15mm like Ral Partha's stuff, but damn if I don't regret not getting the Araby Army back then. Or the B5A box when it was sitting at my lgs for years...
Grayson Allen
>I am sure you understand. Certainly. But maybe I could drop my info here and if you feel like getting back to me, we could see about me being real about this or not. And then, if you judge it worth the time, you might shoot the EU guys my info and they see if they want to get back to me. Or not, it's your free time. Then I'll go back to lurking and seeing if I can get hooked up some other way after collecting more stuff off ebay and seeming less like a snitch.
Jaxson Walker
Would love to get my hands on any sons of horus 30k out there that exists. Been wanting to get a drop pod heavy "tip of the spear" kind of army. Thanks!
first time player but really interested and wsnt to get my friend into it as an intro to HUMONGOUS epic battles. my greatest wish is something to start a 30k world eater list as my hope is to get enough stuff after christmas to recreate a part of the battle of Istavaan III.
There’s a faster way to get EU recaster info. Just go on Facebook, join a epic group and ask if anyone has the models for sale. The EU guy will most likely PM you.
