Lawful Good for sure.
Alucard is NE.
Integra is probably LN.
Seras is NG at first and becomes N by the end,
Pip is CN.
Maxwell is LE.

Anime Anderson is LN

How is he different in the manga?

Wouldn't Alucard be LE?

Hes more sympathetic in the manga, the anime portrays him as a psychopath who just follows the word of the bible regardless of morality

Anime Anderson is Lawful Good. Being Good doesn't necessarily mean being nuanced in how to best execute one's acts of "goodness", especially when paired with Lawful characteristics, one of them being close-mindedness.

Can't tell you about the manga equivalent.

Would you guys classify Anderson as a cleric or as a paladin?, Im inclined more towards cleric with martial training cleric/barbarian if you will

Paladin.
He seems far more combat oriented and less towards the buffs, healing and powers that clerics are so known for.

He is in a group of "paladins" but he doesnt really wear armor, so that cleric/barbarian is a good description.

With all the knives he might be a cleric/rogue.

Not even the word of the bible specifically. Don't forget that anime Anderson has no problem killing Hellsing field agents that he KNOWS are just there to contain the same ghoul/vamp problem as he is, over a dispute of jurisdiction stemming from the fact they are the exact same branch of christianity as he is.

No warning, no chance to fuck off and let the church deal with this. Just straight to stabbing fellow guardians against the night because of differences in dogma.

Cant call that Good, because he is clearly putting sectional rivalry ahead of the common good.

He does so under the assumption of righteous indignation.

"These people want to do good, but they can't/won't do it properly, so I'm going to kill them and do the job myself, to prevent losses. It sucks, but it's all for the greater good of Jesus."

There's a lot of mental gymnastics with Anderson and his comrades, but what else is new with theocrats?

He does escort integra around later though, remind the others with him that "they are paladins not rapists."

So you are saying, then, that a deranged murderer that kidnapped children and drilled holes into their brains to let in gods light and save their souls would be Neutral Good. Because it doesn't matter that he is kidnapping people and brutally torturing them to death,w hat matters is that he thinks he is forwarding some kind of vague salvation.

Thats bullshit, and we both know it.

It IS bullshit, but alignment reflects ethics, not state of mind or objective reality.

If you spend your life putting down and purging a race of demons, only to find out the "demons" are just people suffering from a treatable illness, you're not suddenly evil for doing so. Your intentions spurred you on in a particular direction, even if the direction turned out to be towards an evil goal.

"Good" and "Evil" are impulses, not outcomes. One reason why I kinda stopped using alignments in games.

What do you think his alignment is then?

I'd say chaotic good actuall. Dude might follow the word of God but he's made it abundantly clear that he's willing to fuck shit up if it goes beyond that one bit of personal code. Lest we forget that this is the same man that murdered two men over a dispute in jurisdiction, was willing to throw down in a public museum with alucard (which would have undoubtedly caused some serious damage), murdered his boss, and turned himself into a monster. On the flip side of this he asked Maxwell to take some children to that very same museum, is a beloved teacher, only killed Maxwell after the cunt labeled himself as the new god, admonished his crew for ganging up on Integra who is very much his enemy, agreed to walk her home, AND tried to offer some solace to Alucard ( his biggest enemy) after the big vampiric fuck started to break down after killing him.

I want to know more about his backstory and the other paladins

No he is killing evil creatures though. In my most read system (Pathfinder) here is how they define neutral in respect to good vs evil

"Neutral People who are neutral with respect to good and evil have compunctions against killing the innocent, but may lack the commitment to make sacrifices to protect or help others."

Here is good.

"Good implies altruism, respect for life, and a concern for the dignity of sentient beings. Good characters make personal sacrifices to help others."

Anderson clearly makes sacrifices to further his cause and expects that he simply go to Heaven. Something that all good catholics in Anderson's eyes do, even the ones who don't murder vampires. How does he stack up with the other ideas of Good?

Altruism: He treats the orphans under him with care.

Respect for life: He escorts Integra even when she is obviously a protestant. Something he hates.

Concern for the dignity of sentient beings: He has extreme disdain for both Vampires and Ghouls. Even towards Alucard who is a "good guy" because he is a vampire, Vampires may be sentient but they are definitely not dignified. Especially in the setting the show takes place in.

He used to be with the Mob before having a change of heart and seeking repentance.

There are other things written by the same author of questionable canon, but some are considered canon by fans because they fit. One has an Alexander Anderson with that being his story.

I don't think we ever learn any. All we know about him is that he was supposedly experimented on to get a healing factor (something that none of the other Iscariots seem to have, otherwise Heinkel would still have her cheeks), has the physical strength to out-power your average vampire, is very caring of children and genuinely wants to take care of them and believes them to be pure and innocent, knows many Vatican secrets and has access to many secret relics and armories (like the Nail), and was supposedly retired until the series started.

This man has clearly gone through some shit, and has been involved in all kinds of shit, yet we never see any inkling as to what it could've been.

As for the others, Yumie, Heinkel, and Maxwell were all orphans in Anderson's Orphanage (and he looked old even back then, implying his powers have slowedhis aging, meaning he's reeeeeeeeeealy fucking old)

Honestly, we don't even know what time period he could've even been born during. For all we know he could've been a child during WW2

>There are other things written by the same author of questionable canon,
Where can we find these things?

It's a porn manga called angel dust.

considering he kills evil things because its fun, I imagine he would be Chaotic Good

In the ultimate fan guide book they call him a paladin

Isn't that one of Anderson's nicknames?

Most of characters in Hellsing are recycled from Hiraon's earlier hentai mangas (and Gumania, which is non-H, just has openly gay protag).

Clear cut LE, he even acknowledges it himself.

It's like they say, Lawful Good doesn't mean Lawful Nice.

...

...

EEF ANEEWAN DOES NOT ROVE ZA RORO'D JEEZUS CHRIST RET HIM BE ACCURSED OH CUM RORD EEEEHMAN!

>Cant call that Good
your first mistake was thinking Protestants are people, you filthy fucking heretic. If anything, they're almost as bad as the vampires

So uh..

Where can I fine the prototype porn of the police girl?

Literally everywhere.

i've never been able to find it reee

There is that factor yes, Iscariot acknowledges its sinful in nature, that's why it's named for Judas

It does the dirtywork the truly righteous cannot, and serves the necesary evil the lord requires so his grace may be served

This mentality stems from the idea's of predestination and that Judas had no choice but to betray jesus because it was central to gods plan, a well as the supposed Gospel of Jesus in which Jesus arranged it with Judas that he should betray him

Fuck off enrico

>Respect for life: He escorts Integra even when she is obviously a protestant. Something he hates.

That doesn't make him under murder those other dudes

Huh, I suppose that explains Seras's big fat vampire tats and a few other designs that seemed excessively sexy for a series that doesn't focus on it.

Cleric, but to be fair I follow her the old rule.
Cleric= A Preacher that fights.
Paladin= A Fighter that preaches.

Also Major obviously for Chaotic Evil.

Protestant Fuckbuckets.

reminder:

hellsing ultimate dub>>>>>>>>>>>TFS ultimate>ultimate sub>>>>>>>>hellsing

>because he wields bayonets, he could be a rogue
That’s silly.

Alignment reflects actions. It doesn't care what you think you're doing, only what you are doing.

>It sucks,
it is very clear that part does not cross his mind

D&D gives people brain damage.

where's the manga rank on there?

I'd say greater than or equal to TFS.

hi alexander
how's being the judas iscariot working out for ya

lawfull evil, he follows the word of god, but not realyl a good god. He's the equivalent of a paladin of YAHWE, ill love my neighbour, but ill dam shure smite their ass if they eat that shellfish

>dub
>better than TFS
nigga wat, stop having shit taste

nigger, go rewatch the dub. TFS is amazing, but it just does not compare to the dub.

i watche the dub nigga and it's not as good as tfs, do i need to bust a cap in yo ass to prove it to you nigga? Because i will start a gang war over this

Come at me, faggot. hellsing ultimate is one of, if not my favourite anime series, I have the anderson song on my phone, and absolutely love the TFS dub.

If hellsing is in owod would that make Anderson a mage?

He has a healing factor and some kind of spells.

bitch i will ride down yo streat and shoot your homies with a fucking canon and get all yo bitches to love my canon

NE (could be secretly NG, as he wants to kill a monster that could eat London)

powerful Imbued (Hunter) can do all that in WoD lore

Forgot pic*

>Destroys own soul to save lives and destroy a monster.

LE, but redeems himself with the Nail of Christ.

constructs machines and other such tools are inherently unaligned

>redeems himself

the fuck? He damned himself with the nail.

>He damned himself with the nail.
Just like Jesus.

no, not at all like jesus. the fuck?

He took the sin unto himself user. How do you not see the connection?

There's still enough there to count.

And I'd say a contender for CE, despite how controlled he is and the drawn-out nature of the plan - war for the pure sake of destruction is pretty damn CE.

>Pip is CN.
I'd go as far as to call him CG, pretending to be CN.

because that's not what anderson did. He injected himself with the blood of the Divine, turning himself into a holy monster, a counterpart to the unholy monster that was alucard.

there was no redemption, no taking on sins. Anderson Damned himself to stand against utter evil, while jesus, a divine being, sacrificed himself to take the sins of man onto himself.

>over a dispute of jurisdiction stemming from the fact they are the exact same branch of christianity as he is.
Irish Catholics are very antsy about the subject of Northern Ireland in general

he's not talking about Seras, he' s talking about the character that filled her role in the Hellsing prototype. A manga prototype is kind of like the pilot episode of a TV series, mangaka will send it to various anthologies in hopes of being published.

I'm not sure if it's still the term they use, but it was in common use when Hellsing was being pitched.

It is actually.

I think she gets raped and killed by the valentine brothers.

Alright nibbas, what's the deal with Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate. Is Ultimate a sequel or a remake? And if Ultimate is a remake, does that make the original still worth watching or nah?

The anime? Hellsing was the original but was done before the manga had really been finalized, so it starts a story thread where the vampires are being made by the triads or some shit, and just ends without being finished.
Hellsing Ultimate follows the manga more closely and is finished.
Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is the abridged of ultimate and gets one new episode a year in october.

PF Inquisitor

>Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is the abridged of ultimate and gets one new episode a year in october.

And really makes me appreciate Abridged Series keeping to the broad strokes plot rather than just being jokes.

Or to make an analogy, Section 13 is the Scorpion Clan of the Vatican.

Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is particularly bad because it isn't hardly even abridged. They go through it episode by episode and the episodes they do are almost as long as the actual ones.

It's bad at being abridged in the sense of being shorter but it's pretty good at being 'Abridged' in the sense they've ended up (A humorous take on the show).

But he didn't destroy that monster at all, he loses and Alucard is brought down temporarily by Schrondinger. He became a monster and still lost to a true monster.

It's also important to keep in mind that one doesn't need to be evil to do evil things. Some of the most good people in the world have been responsible for some of the greatest evils.

Anime - LN, OVA - TN, manga - CN transitioned to NG and to TN.
Other characters - pretty much this , Pip is more of CG
Walter is TN transitioning to NE.

He's LN fallling to LE.
Calling him good misses the whole point of his character.

Can I ask you to elaborate.

Not the user, but the entire point of the Iscariot is that they are there to do the cruel, evil things for the Catholic church mandates done.
Saying he is "good" when the point of him and his organization is to be damned butchers is silly.

What evil things did Iscariot do? I thought they were just vampire hunters, I don't remember mention of them doing anything evil.

Nah, you are just dumb and emphatized with Alucard

You mean besides killing protestants for the sake of it?

Killing protestants isn't evil though.

Nonsense. Shooting someone because you think they are an imminent threat to the lives of people near them is different than shooting someone because you don't like them.

Dammit Catholics this is why everyone is so tired of your shit.

And giving helicopter rides to communists is considered a virtue.

>I want to know more about his backstory

...I might be able to help there.

youtube.com/watch?v=DxF4v5asYNc

TFS are faggots

Ultimate and the manga has made me realize that Alucard is, quite frankly, a shitty little bitch ass faggot.

>WAAAAAAAAAH! WHY WOULD YOU TURN INTO A MONSTER IN A DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE SEEMINGLY UNSTOPPABLE KILLING MACHINE THAT'S ME!
>It's not like I flooded the streets of London with an nigh infinite army of ghouls and zombies, can regenerate from basically anything and love nothing more than murder! You totally could have stopped that as a human! WAAAAAAAAAAH

Seriously. Fuck Alucard. That's bullshit.

That said I would be very interested in seeing how this Nigga managed to put him down the first time. Dracula was a neat book. Id like to see it adapted

>Dracula was a neat book. Id like to see it adapted
Dracula proper is hard to actually fairly hard to adapt directly. You need to make serious changes for it to be a film, or you need to make it some kind of mini-series or even full series to get all the nuances and details in there. Like the whole character of Abraham Van Helsing.

Bam! Hirano's next lifelong project.

Alucard made a deal with the devil to always be the ultimate monster. by becoming a monster Anderson lost the ability to actually win the fight, since no monster can ever be stronger than Alucard.
