Everyday 'ware. Does everyone have a datajack, or is it only hardcore techies? Skilljacks/skillwires: Core part of Sixth World manufacturing, or niche market? Cybereyes for all, or are people still using meatsacks? How widespread is minor, QoL- or work-related cyberware and bioware in your game?

Most of my players are bucking the system and either went for some form of magic or tried to be entirely mundane until they realized why that's a poor choice for some archetypes. Only one is really extensively cybered out, and he's a decker.

since that chummer forgot apparently
>>Shoot straight
>>Conserve ammo
>>Do not buy CGL products
>>And never, ever make a deal with a dragon

Right, my apologies.

>Watch your back
>Shoot straight
>Conserve ammo
>And never, ever make deal with a dragon

There, all better.

What are some good qualities for a mundane pistol user? I've never built a non-magic runner before.

Redliner and Exceptional Attribute (DEX). Then get yourself pair of AGI 11 (or more if you're elf) cyberarms optimized for pistol use. Then you can add additional stuff, like cyberholsters.

After that, buy Reflex recorder (Pistols) and get cybereyes with smartlink (or implant it into your normal eyes).

THEN, take your pistol skill to 6 with specialisation

And that's all, you have at least 23 dice pool for shooting stuff with pistols. same build goes for automatics, but then you probably want some extra STR and recoil compensation.

When I think about it, you can also pick genetic optimisation (DEX) for one more dice.

>Dex
Back to D&D you niggers.

Guys where is a goodplace to learn more about the world and lore of Shadowrun?

Books, wiki.

Neo-Anarchist Podcast for audio.

Sixth World Almanac and other sourcebooks.

The wikis out there are out of date at best, and straight-up wrong often. /srg/ will also lie to you for free.

Lofwyr had a baby with Maria Mercurial.

>
Storm Front has conversion rules. It's pretty easy to go from 4e to 5e, though with some characters (hackers/deckers) it's better to just completely rebuild.

So unless im misunderstanding this. when making SS simple actions, if you want to fire two weapons at the same target, you split your dice pools for the shot, and roll once with each gun. but the defender gets their full free defense roll for both shots?

Now I feel like a shit

Per RAW, Multiple Attacks has to be at separate targets, which is why each target gets their full defence pool.

As far as commonplace ware goes, I guess it's not too common, to a degree. Ware is too expensive for a lot of wageslaves to afford on their own, especially when their corporate masters are trying to pay them as little as possible. So the corp would have to foot the bill for it, which I can't imagine they'd be too keen to do for expendable wageslaves.

Actually, it just occurred to me that the corp could offer its workers loans for getting ware they could pay off "at very reasonable interest rates", then use those loans to keep their worker bound to the company. Because they're paying off those cybereyes forever, the wageslaves can't afford to leave their job, thus mitigating the risks sustained by the company. And if a wageslave decides they'd rather work for a competitor, either the competitor has to pay off the loan for them or risk having their new employee sell them out for better terms on their loan.

Datajacks are absurdly common amongst SINners, as are cybereyes. Skillwires and other related "work" cyberware were very common but are getting phased out in favor of drones.

Hey, I have a question about Adapsin: does it only apply to cyberware implanted after you take it, or does it apply to cyberware you had installed before you took the change too? Because I have a .01 essence sammie and adapsin gets me just enough freed up essence for an internal router

only discounts ware installed after the treatment.

...

Ask your GM whether he'll allow you to have adapsin regenerate your cyberware essence costs to give you an Essence Hole; per RAW, you could just have all your shit removed, get adapsin, and reinstall everything into the holes.

Adapsin is a shitty trap option.
Avoid.
Internal Router is overpriced in both essence and Nuyen and not worth the gain.
Also you screwed up the numbers somewhere.
Adapsin gives you an additional 10% reduction for Cyberware on top of the actual cost AND also costs essence in itself.
Save for being 100% Cyberware, having it installed at Chargen and getting a Deltaware Internal Router, i see no way for the numbers to work (and even that might not cut it).
If you really need some additional essence (for useful stuff), ask your GM if you can still take the Biocompatibility Quality. Just fluff it as "i have adapted better to the ware i have within me".

Yeah, I forgot about the adapsin's .2 essence cost. Ah well, I'll just swap out my ware for alpha/beta versions over time. Internal router is overpriced but rating 2 cyber eyes (with thermo vision and magnification) would be useful.

Cool idea, but it might be hard to uninstall bone lacing and reaction enhancers

Another question: how much recoil does a cyberlimb gyromount compensate for? in the rulebook it says it functions "as a gryomount, but rating 3". I can't find what "rating" the gyromount is, but it says the gyromount deals with 6 points of recoil. Does the cyberlimb version only deal with 3 points of recoil?

>Does the cyberlim Version only deal with 3 Points of recoil

Exactly.
You can still get to pretty ridiculous levels of RC with properly modded guns, including being able to fire long full Auto Bursts without suffering any recoil modifiers.

Absolutely fantastic.
If this really was intended to be Shadowrun IN SPAAAACE then a lot of the background lore in those books can fill a lot of holes in the setting.
For example, Eclipse seems to prove that metahumans actually DO have souls, and can be reincarnated via magic and technology. Awesome.
I might use some of this for secret projects in my Shadowrun campaigns.

Bah, I mean Equinox. Getting my scifi settings mixed up.

Hey /srg/, /owod/ here.
My players are probably going to attack a Casino.
Any shadowrun modules I could use, adapted of course?

What kinds of augments would you wish in SR? Stuff that has not been ported or never been done before, but which you'd like to have as an option

Cyberware.

It's so shit in 5e that it may as well have never been ported.

>Cyberware.
>forgetting the cyberspine

Can you get built in roller skates?

yup, Skates
Chrome Flesh p88

>these are virtually use-
less unless taken in pairs.

some kind of transforming 'ware. I just want my troll sammy's arm to become an auto cannon with the flick of a switch

Fucking skillwire expert system.

Regarding new stuff:
Something to deflect bullets would be cool.
There was some prototype (not ware) in Stolen Souls, but a proper version would be good. Some proper internal gas dispensers that would gas the whole area would also be nice.

>That one cheapskate ork who got the one skate and pushes himself along with the other foot like he's riding a razor scooter

how do HTR games go?

sauce on image?

MiniLAW, I think. Awful game.

>Climbing past fencetop wiring requires a
Climbing + Agility (3) Test;
Climbing isn't a skill in 5e, is it? Did they mean Gymnastics, then?

>awful game
The fuck? I love minilaw. I DARE you to name me another HTR simulator of such quality and accuracy.

HTR/Corporate-Samurai campaigns are fun, I did a few sessions with my old GM a while ago where we played as an HTR first-responder type unit for Ares. The most noticeable gameplay difference from regular shadowrunning was that shit would be in the midst of hitting the fan by the time we arrived, meaning that as soon as we stepped into our designated transport we had to make every second count (something the gm was pretty fuckin sadistic about, in the fun way). Having to work with quartermasters and corporate support-networks while also being fucking despised by the SINless was also a pretty fun change.

It was also the first time we saw the Viscera Web spell in action since one of the sessions was shortly after Forbidden Arcana was released, and we saw it a lot. Nothing like having your stealthy entrance blown because one of the desk jockeys plastered to the wall with their own veins began to feebly moan for help while pawing at you when you pass by.

I need inspiration and I kind of want to replay one of the Harebrained Schemes games. What game, and what archetype?

Dragonfall Puncher

>Climbing isn't a skill in 5e, is it? Did they mean Gymnastics, then?
It is not. The error is because of copy-paste and bad editing.

Gymnastics(Climbing) + Agility (3) would be more appropriate.

Dragonfall, Mage. Or Hong Kong, Mage.

The fact that neither team has a mage as a member always made it seem like it was trying to get the player to fill that role. Especially given the fact there are significant number of assensing checks you can make.

Can anyone with experience in 3e help me out? I'm trying to make the most tanky guy I possibly can. Ive found plenty of resources for 5e, but next to nothing for 3e. Any help is appreciated.

Concept is "Discharged veteran. That got modified for some battle, then got injured and limped his way home. He is a tanky fucker made to be on the front lines. Also he is homeless and basically eats trash. His objective is to pursue better tasting foods in life.Troll as race."

Yeah. It's a little rules light, and sure, lightsabers, but we've already got those in 5e anyway. I really like the way they've managed to give it a shiny dystopian scifi feel with aspects of cyberpunk, like the slavery of the zerogs and the like.

Chakraware. Incredibly expensive oricahlcum and reagent implants that give some basic mystic powers, like ignoring immunity to normal weapons or whatever in exchange for the teeny tiny price of covering your entire bone structure in orichalcum engraving.

Have you got NSRCG, or are you building from books?

A serious question - why elves are such goddamn sluts?

They're beautiful and have long lives. Perfect recipe for slutting it up

We are using books, though I believe anything will be allowed even if we don't have the book on hand.

>long lives. Perfect recipe for slutting it up
No, that's a perfect recipe for suffering from STDs.
"Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die," is better attitude for slutting.

What's the difference between Shock Frills and Shock Weave. Best as I can tell, they both just electrocute people who touch you.

Well, some are immune. Others can just use their copious fuck-money to buy cures. Or go get HMHVV.

If I were beautiful and everybody loved me because of my metagenetics I'd slut it up too.

You can attack with the frills.

So they just turn your unarmed attacks into electric damage?

Not really, attacking with the frills is at a penalty.

Where does it say that? On SR5 p438 I see nothing about penalties or a damage value.

Nigga what?

I am so upset my cunning ploy to dare him to name me another HTR simulator failed.
I really want more.

>he thought he could outsmart yekka
Don't you know user? Yekka is an ingenious mastermind. Nothing gets past him.

A lack of protein in their diet requires that the female elf leech necessary biological material from as many partners as possible to ensure a healthy fetus. This has led to the evolution of a secondary 'stomach' which is capable of preserving the material until its required, or just as a fun party trick.
Controls are clunky and awful. I get what they're going for, but just because the guy's built like a tank doesn't mean I want to feel like I'm controlling one when I move.
JYDGE, maybe?

I like how weighty your guy feels, though I can understand that complaint.
Game's still great though.

As for jydge, it looks way more arcadey than simmy.

JYDGE is a fairly clear Riff on Judge Dredd, I can't help but feel a HTR game should be more team oriented.
Haven't tried one, but I can't see it being a huge problem. Though it might be a bit too railroady, you would have standard issue gear for the party and they'd have to go where they were told.

I woudln't critique it for being judge dredd in comparison to minilaw, which is also judge dredd.
But also robocop.

What is the blast radius for explosives? In 4e? Like for frags and shit? Im sure i read it somewhere and im tearing this book apart looking for it.

Also out of curiosity what gear/ stats would a Knights Errant soldier have?

It's usually in the damage code, something like 10p-1/m, so for every metre you are from the grnade you resist one less damage.

So did these guys ever show up anywhere other than Chicago

4e technomancers could hotwire themselves with echoes to whip up a sort of ersatz cyberware. Do 5e ones have anything aside from the control rig?

Failing that, what's probably the best list for them if they're getting a few bits bolted in?

They're not in chicago, those are bugs. Gaf and Tak are a form of horror spirit, but not direct horrors. Things like gumtoads, vyrkolaks, crawlers and nomad spirits are varieties of horrors. They're featured quite prominently with a wink wink nudge nudge throughout all the books.

The vampire SCP section in Dark Terrors has something hinting at horrors

Anyone else think it's hard to do Matrix stuff in 5E for reasons outside of the rules being wonky? For example, a dataheist job in the 2070s requires a security spider not just instantly archiving that data to the Foundation.

Yeah. It's like they've just added things in over and over that don't really make much sense. I mean, I get they wanted to build something strange that regular deckers could access instead of the resonance realms, but the foundation? Really? Nobody knows how to build a host so we 'grow' them? Just.. fucking hell.

>for reasons outside of the rules being wonky?
The lore is also inconsistent and poorly-realized. Even before you get to the metaplane nonsense. Is an icon tied to a physical position? How do you find an device of interest next to a bag of RFIDs? Who the hell knows!

>wait why can't runners just hack their sales data and take that
>there's a lot of information that runners could steal besides the paydata
>uhhhh cuz it's actually in an unhackable world of computer magic
The Foundation should never have happened.

>wait why can't deckers just rock peoples' authentication data to drain their bank accounts
>I mean he can make this guy's car drive off a cliff with him inside it, and the commlink is the same device rating
>uhhhhhh Zurich Orbital!

>hang on what does any of this shit actually look like anyway? Commlinks, bug scanners, icons, hosts, grids?
>dunno, didn't pay the artists enough for that

>Do 5e ones have anything aside from the control rig?
No.

>what's probably the best list for them if they're getting a few bits bolted in?
'ware boosting their mental stats, or an Arm of God.

Haven't heard the term before. Standard cyberlimb with murderaugs built in?

So if a frag has 12p-1/m and it looses 1 damage per meter then its blast range is 12 meters?

Pretty much. 12pf isn't so much of a problem in 4e as it is in 5, tho.

Cyberlimb with completely maxed out AGI that lets you wield one-handed weapons deftly, yep. You can trick it out further as you like.

Nobody knows how to build an AI at the moment, we just know how to make bots that are good at killing the ones that don't do what we want them to do. It's not a massive stretch that they developed a bot that can input parameters for a host and output something that matches those parameters from the Matrix's mesh framework. 'Naturally'-occuring UV hosts have been a thing since, what? Late in 2E?
I might be giving it a lot of unfair guff, I haven't gone back to it since early after early access.

Incidentally, I have a spare copy of Sleeping Dogs. Enjoy!

humblebundle.com/gift?key=Uzx8WYAhuvhqB5yV

So if a npc threw a granade dows he have to roll to see where it lands or does it just land where i the gm want with in reason?

Cool thx, unrelated how much does big "D" come up on Veeky Forums and do you think trump is a dragon?

Make a throwing weapons test. If you get three hits, it lands where you want it to. if not, it scatters in a random direction by a random amount determined by the scatter table.

>and do you think trump is a dragon?
You really want to ruin this thread dont you?

I'm sorry
It's just a kind of obvious parallel

Oh no, the controls are still clunky as all getout.
If that was a turnoff for you then, it will be now.

Naturally occurring UV hosts were always a function of an AI or a resonance well. It'd be one thing if the matrix was old, but they literally just threw a pile of bandwidth at it and initial servers. Now you get.. this.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, and I have a tumblr account.

Thanks so much. Me and the boys really enjoy the game but fuck the rules are layout out and worded like shit

Actual answer depends on whether you want the grenade to explode now, or any time after now. Later is as above. The former is a standard attack test with a few extra rules.

Fuck and here i thought it was on the throwers initiative on the next initiative pass

I'm new to the game, what am I missing from an infiltration sam? Currently up to:
Max Sneaking
Max Perception
Max Athletics Group
Max Locksmith, Automatics and Hardware
4 points in Outdoors Group
Jazz and Kami autoinjectors, Balance Tail, Cybereyes with vision mods, Reaction Enchancers, 2 pairs of Climbing Claws, Muscle Repalcement, Eleastic Joints
Chameleon Suit w. Thermal Damping mod,

Points in Etiquette and Con (Fast Talk)
A weapon
A grapple gun

Friends/teammates to assist you. If you want to go in all smooth-like: a mage (to warn you of astral threats), a decker (to open the door for you in a pinch) and a rigger (to give you awareness). Barring that, a mean buch of troggas to bust you out of trouble with all guns blazing when shit hits he fan.

Skates.
