"Even now there's hope for men"

>"Even now there's hope for men"
What did our Glorious King mean by this?

>We have control
>We keep you safe
>We are your hope
>We are in control

>someone has writtent on Emperor's sword
>with angry hand
>"Hope Rides Alone"

>I've got this burning like my veins are filled with nothing but gasoline.
>And with a spark, it's gonna be the biggest fire they've ever seen.
>Cut me down or let me run, either way it's all gonna burn...
>The only way that they'll ever learn

>They looked to me once. Now they turn to you. Do you understand now?
Do you see that the truth is they don't want to change this?
They don't want a hero. They just want a martyr, a statue to raise.
>I've given everything I can. There are no heroes left in man.
>They called me their hero, The Hero of Man. But why should we save them
When they stand for nothing? If they deserve life, LET THEM STAND FOR THEMSELVES.

It's Glorious Overlord, not glorious king.

>But I know a hero will come
>And the night, the night will be torn apart
>And I know we won't fight alone
>And the spark that we carry will turn the dark into
>A flame, a fire, a light

>I can almost hear the hounds

>when you realize the entire reason heroes are needed is that mortal men cannot stand before the evils that will, unchecked, destroy even their greatest armies

>thus, the entire moral is pointless

> All you wounded, those of you who can, pick yourselves off the ground,
> Hurry back, tell your leader you'll need more men.

And even then. Aren't heroes just men who stood up for themselves and humanity? Emperor is a human who stood for mankind and created the ways for it to protects itself.
Even the space marines are human, althought many deny it. Yes, they were changed and mutated, but they are still human.

I'm out of the loop. What's that a quote from?

I think user's messed up the quote but it's from The Stand (Man or Machine).

okay, so it's a full blown protomen thread. Dammit, why do I have to be too young (not underage though) to be a megaman fan? Or should I just read a wiki page or two and buy the music?

It's to say, hey you don't need to be superpowered monsterpeople to do your part killing filthy Xenos & dirty Chaos

I never played a Megaman game in my life and I fucking love The Protomen. There is no need to be into the games to enjoy them.
Put on their CD, read the lyrics (which has narrative text in-between verse) and enjoy the story. It's fantastic.

good to hear.

Just start listening, my dude. You don't need to be into Megaman to appreciate some kickass tracks.

I think an important note about the 'they won't stand for themselves' thing is to look at Act 2: A regular human kills a Sniper Joe. Now imagine the vast numbers of humans present at even that fight. It's not 'oh, the robot armies are invincible and humans can't touch them'. It's 'the humans aren't willing to put their lives on the line for freedom, only the lives of others'. That's where Protoman's argument lies.
Whether it's a good argument or not is another matter.

>So I will stand here with my shoulders square and tall,
>And when the whistle blows, not falter,
>But when the crash comes I will fall.
>With so much steam and steel behind it,
>I won't slow it down at all.

>regular
Was he, though?
