Is it plausible for girl spellcasters to wear nice and frilly dresses instead of stuffy robes?

Is it possible for a rope to support you when you hang yourself or should you buy a chain?

Women spending dubious amounts of time and money into fashion is pretty realistic.

Depends on the magical tradition, probably. The robes might be ritually mandatory for spellcasting in some.

Yes, and they can form parties with amazons and ladyknights after signing up with an adventurer’s guild.

Depends on the situation. Stuffy, bland robes are typically more suited to the dangerous and frankly filthy adventures you might see more spellcasters go on. If you're gonna spend weeks on the road in a wagon, travel over mountain ranges and vast deserts, or storm a castle or even clear rats out of the sewer, you probably don't want to do it in your 2017 Ralph Lauren Fall Collection blouse.

But, if you're the type of wizard with either enough spellpower that such things don't fucking matter and you can use magic to keep your dress spic and span, or you hardly ever leave the city and act as like, a magical advisor to the king or something, then go on with your fine self.

>robes
>dresses

City wizards, everyone.

Nothing better than a pair of comfy boots, a sturdy coat and a cloak to cover yourself while it's raining, snowing or frogging.

>Stuffy, bland robes are typically more suited to the dangerous and frankly filthy adventures you might see more spellcasters go on.
You know what's even more suited? Something that isn't going to flop around and get caught on things.

True. If the robe and wizard hat isn't your thing, something practical like is even better and could even potentially be fashionable at the same time.

u mad

Stop being a faggot, OP.

Also post more examples of "Nice and frilly dresses" just in case you may be on to something.

Is it possible for spellcasters to wear nothing at all?

Except for aprons when working with potions...

I feel like that'd work best with druids and the like. Maybe certain clerics and warlocks, depending on their patron.

>robes
>dresses

What with you guys being such weak pussies?
A true Wizard-Sorcerer-Warlock wears armour...

Not just any armour oh no, but the heaviest armour possible and magic armour too.

Show the world that no matter what they do you can't be killed.... but you will kill them

Fpbp

Maybe when you're out and about adventuring, but if you're a wizard in good standing you're still going to want some formalwear for when you are called upon to attend ceremonies and other social or mystical functions with other wizards in town. Institutional culture likely dictates whether said formalwear consists of robes with silly hats or dresses and suits.

I like bathrobes.

You mean clerics.

A cleric doesn't shoot fireballs, ice spikes, lighting bolt from their hands do they?

But really, you have to be a retard to join a battle field without armour which is funny as most wizards are supposed to have high int

yes, and it's also plausible for boy spellcasters

>A cleric doesn't shoot fireballs, ice spikes, lighting bolt from their hands do they?
Depends on the cleric domain.

a tthread die for this.go to /a/

I'll take "What is a Court Mage?"

I wish I could kill you.
It wouldn’t be extensive or agonizing, just a gentle, swift death to remove a problem rather then screw around with it any longer.

edgy

Do you even know why wizards wear robes?

Towers.

Wizards build towers to get a good view of the horizon and the stars. Towers, being made out of stone, are cold and tend to be damp. A fireplace can mitigate some, but not that much. Since the myths and legends of wizards aren't like TTRPG casters and spells take time and effort and rarely last long, magically heating your tower wasn't a thing. So you wear nice, thick, heavy robes because it's fucking cold in your tall stone tower, especially at nights when you are trying to see the goddamn stars and can't really light a fire without ruining your vision!

This means heavy frilly dresses are perfectly acceptable.

Boy spellcasters are often the ones wearing nice and frilly dresses, for whatever reason

Heavy armor fucks with your command of somatic components. Hard to move your arms and fingers the right way to pluck the cosmic strings if you're wearing gauntlets.

You can Shift-click to hide threads in the catalog. You should definitely try it; you seem overstressed.

Just take into account that such clothes often only exist to show off that you don't need to work or walk let alone fight. It would be impossible to do do anything of these with such clothes.
