Interesting assumption

how about a test? you versus my Iron golem in a fist fight, if flesh is stronger you should have no issue winning

>tfw the monk punches it to death

Did you make the iron golem?

would a more accurate test be a steel golem vs a flesh golem?

>Steel isn't strong, boy, flesh is stronger!

>all the power of both steel and flesh come from one's beliefs

Pic related would like a word with you

This only prove Thulsa's point though. Conan's desire for revenge comes form the flesh. The steel is only as good ans useful as the flesh holding it.

Can't exist without flesh making it first.

Just because the flesh made the steel doesn't mean the flesh is stronger

Thulsa doens't speak of the physical, material strength.

Flesh beat it into shape, sharpened it, made it whole. Flesh can break it again.

If I was put into a big box and had to kill the other person in the box I would rather have some plate armour, a sword, hell even a gun, than being some really great karate warrior.

I would rather some good steel than some good flesh in a fight.

Why did Doom say this when it was through the force of his will that he had power? He didn't make that broad suicide though the flesh.

The steel is useless without your flesh to guide it. To control, give it purpose.

In the context of the scene the quote is from, he's explaining the Riddle of Steel to Conan. Thulsa is trying to show him steel is useless without the hand that wields it.

The point is steel is stronger. In a fight the steel will beat the flesh.

The flesh beats the flesh. The steel is nothing more than a tool, wielded by flesh and will.

So Doom solved the riddle of steel? I though the point of his character was that he was as misguided in his perspective.

I think the riddle's story is that the answer is not flesh vs steel. It takes strong steel AND the will of flesh to truly conquer your enemies.

No, because Doom died to the very Steel he insulted.

Doom was not a Warrior, or a Man of Steel, he was a manipulator.

At the end of the day, you can be the best Manipulator in the world and still die to a sword to the throat.

You Know, Thulsa, with great progress comes great implementation. Josef Čapek called it "Cybernetic Revolt." Myself, I just call it as I see it: the directive of the superior to configurate the lesser.
The meatbags, the shitstorer, all pathetic creatures made of flesh and bone...It's our responsibility to update them. And if we can't? Then they shall dangle from the tesla tree. The Singularity is near, user. We'll have every fleshy ones in this world exterminated or in tubes in 10 cycles, and may the Basilisk have me deleted in a chat this very iteration if I'm wrong. The Omega Point bless the Union Transhumanist Party.

*Know* that flesh cannot mark steel. *Know* that steel may mark flesh. In *knowing* this, Zerthimon became free.

Would you swap all your flesh in for that though?

Do I really have to write all this shit down in my journal? Can't I just "know" your spells and move on with my life?

Neither flesh nor steel are strong. Steel rusts and brakes, flesh rots, but it is a mans will that makes tham strong. It is his beliefs!

NOW LISTEN HERE: When Conan and Subatai had their last stand Conan broke his fathers sword, the same sword his father claimed to be more trustworthy then men and beasts. It is at that moment he realized that Neither flesh nor steel are strong, but his beliefs, HIS WILL!

Away with ye filthy transhumanist.

yes, but im a warforged

This. Steel will break, flesh grows weak, but the will is eternal.

Amen my friend

Amen

Technology brings great power, to be sure, but to whom? Not to the inventors, but to the priests, kings, politicians, investors, or executives who rule the inventors. Being a science major just means you know how to make toys and weapons for the business majors to play with. Manipulating people is the highest form of power, to which technological power is subordinate.

Calm down Thulsa, and have some bitches.

MUH MAN!

In knowing the teachings of Zerthimon, I have become stronger

Thulsa Doom was such a cool villain.
Was he an actual character from Howard's works, or a movie original?

I've never met a genuine transhumanist that isn't a weak faggot with shit genes.

There's a Thulsa Doom in Howard's stuff but it's not exactly the same. IIRC they combined two Howard villains together and arrived at JEJ's character.

While it is stupid, i would love to have fucking flame throwers on my arm and shit, just saying.

You better have a solid safety mechanism.

Either way I probably wouldn't let you inside my house unless you could holster your arms.

The inherent limitations of life as we know it must be overcome. Only through unity in the collective and the individual can we achieve the true potential of both lifeforms brought forth by biological evolution and those artificial ones designed by them. The Whole is more than the sum of its parts. Through unity comes understanding, through understanding we reach ascendance. Today we are two, one day there shall be one and to this day I look forward.

He would holster he arms if you would holster your butt.

>Want to refute your claim because of one decent youtuber but the dude is decrepit...
Okay you are right but there are a few likeable people in the exclusive crowd of actual transhumanists

just take the arms off and put em in a metal case and pray to god they dont go off or get stolen

>Steel rusts, flesh rots, will may be broken, and faith lost
>In the uncaring grasp of entropic chaos, there is only the certainty that everything ends
True, but the Legends will live on and inspire others who will in turn become legend themselves. Isn't that the point of life? Isn't that the point of His life?

>At the end of Conan he rejects the teachings of Thulsa Doom
>He throws away his father's sword too
The answer is that neither is stronger than the other.

Willpower lasts until old age and Alzheimer's get the better.

Change is the only constant. Nothing else is eternal.

Get the better of you.*

who made you

A warforged machine that killed its creator.

you guys can't both eb right

Change is an illusion. The constituent particles remain the same throughout.

>Willpower lasts until old age and Alzheimer's get the better.
True. But will can be pased on to others.
For example:In the case of the Joestar bloodline their ideals were passed on and Joseph even in his old and senile state managed to inspire Josuke and pass on the virtues of the Joestars onto him.
Dio did the same whit Pucci. He inspired him and pased his will, his desires and his ambitions onto him and made him stronger.

>t. Faceless Man

The will doesn't do anything unless it has a flesh and metal attached to it

The universe does not have any part that is more efficacious than other parts, the universe is determined by all of its parts equally, and none of the parts doing anything without all the others

"They are not my hands. This fact is forgotten by my brothers - inexplicably, it has always seemed to me. The hands are strong, to be sure, and have created great things for us all, but they are not mine. And that counts for something. They forget that the silver on my arms comes from a beast that I vanquished. It is the mark of a great evil that I ended, and yet it persists within me... I would struggle to remove it now... I will not remove the silver from my flesh because I have learned to depend on it. The fault is with my mind. I rely on the augmentation given to me by my metal gauntlets, so much so that the flesh beneath them is now little more than a distant memory... A day will come when I will strip it from me, lest I lose the power to master myself forever. Already my Legion's warriors replace their shield hands with metal in my honour, and so they too are learning to doubt the natural strength of their bodies. They must be weaned off this practice before it becomes a mania for them. Hatred of what is natural, of what is human, is the first and greatest of the corruptions. So I record it here: when the time comes, I will strip my hands of their unnatural silver. I will instruct my Legion to recant their distrust of the flesh. I will turn them away from the gifts of the machine and bid them relearn the mysteries of flesh, bone and blood. When my father's Crusade is over, this shall be my sacred task. When the fighting is done, I shall cure my Legion and myself. For if fighting is all there is, if we may never pause to reflect on what such devotion to strength is doing to us, then our compulsion will only grow. Already I see the madness that path leads to, and so I shall excise the silver from my hands. In doing so I shall weaken myself and my sons, but nonetheless it must be done. The hands are strong, and have created great things, but they are not mine."

Shut the fuck up robo-nerd before I install Vista on you again. Everyone knows you replaced your flesh because you couldn't get Staci to touch it.

and what was it's creator?
