Anyone here familiar with Haruhi Suzumiya?
I've decided to look at that jump, and figured taking the Sky Canopy Tutor drawback might be interesting.

How hard will it be to establish communication with this alien program, and for those who have read Haruhi, what sort of character is this girl Kuyou Suou. I ask because I wanna determine if I should take her as a companion or not.

I noticed my build for JC is lacking in Companions, so I've decided I want to look into adding Companions to my builds

I made first contact with Orks, Humans, and Chaos on a forgotten feudal world somewhere in the Galaxy. I was Godzilla. And a Skyfather. And an Avatar. And an immensely powerful magic user. The human's of that planet began worshiping me rather quickly.

Oh boy. Kuyou as of the very beginning is unable to effectively communicate her purpose, observations, or even her name (whether it is Kuyou Suou or Suou Kuyou is unclear, and the name is presumably difficult to spell in Japanese).
In response to Kyon's questions, she said things like "____ Ali.... en___? What's___ that___?" and "___ Your ___ Eyes_____ very _____ pretty."
However, in The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya, she shows a more coherent form of communication, explaining in fragmented sentences that she is waiting for Kyon and wants him to "join her", and clearly having the ability to analyze threat levels of other people. This means that with time, a few months I believe, she's gone from outright brain damaged levels of coherence to a particularly autistic person, as in the medical grade condition not the insult often thrown around. It should be noted that 'a few months' is hellishly long time for a Thought Entity to figure out anything, it'll be rough but it should be possible, just a huge hassle.

Hmmm, well considering what you've told me, I guess it might work. If I just spend my evenings trying to tutor her and make contact and basic communication, it should work out. I guess its probably worth the hassle, and possibly my taking of the Humanoid Interface, we might be able to more easily share communication and data if at all possible.

Plus, my last jump was Harvest Moon, so teaching her how to garden might also help as a teaching tool for other concepts like life, death, and stuff like that.

Plus, depending on how she develops and learns, I guess she'll be fun to take as a companion. Be a good foil to my spastic personality

The game isn't out yet, but my guess is she was an RR scientist-turned-Android who somehow figured out how to emulate the creation process Bibidi used to create Majin Boo, and experimented with it one herself.

We still don't know if there's enough new content to justify a jump just for the game, but it could totally work as a 0 CP drawback/scenario for Super.

Aikido, Kalaripayattu, Drunken Boxing, Pankration, Revonnah Kai, Taekwondo, and Hokuto no Ken + OC martial art called 'Fist of the Guardian Wolf' focused on violent takedowns and lethal submission techniques.

And then you take Animalistic Incorporation, Adaptability, Tandem Style (no capstone boost).

Even when I don't have Ki, Essence, or anything similar to unlock the higher techniques, this shit will wreck faces. Even if I lose a physical confrontation, the other party is not going to be intact or unscathed.

Polity jump. Take the Golem or Wardrone "species", get a starship custom built to specs (or pick up a second hand one) then transfer yourself from your little cerametal shell to your starfaring cerametal shell.

Bubblegum Crisis jump. Take the Boomer or Super-Boomer background (if new memories are not your thing, just fanwank that you're fresh off the factory line) then take the Fusion Boomer perk and practice assimilating old starships until you've got the hang of it and are ready to assimilate your new starfaring body.

Supernatural method: Generic Creepypasta jump. Take the Biome perk and the Genius Loci perk, haunt the starship of your choice and then spread your infestation until it is completely yours.

There are probably other methods too, but hopefully those are a good start.

Most jumps are fairly non-lethal if you stay away from specific locations. Infamous isn't /too/ dangerous, either way.

I'm not really sure I understand. Normally you're only allowed to plug one Implant into yourself in the game, but you can find an upgrade module that allows you to wear two if you decide to take it. That's what the Perk does. Gives your nervous system a little extra juice to let you use more Impants.
