I'm getting into a tangent, but I volunteer with autistic kids/teens and play free form DnD role play type games. I send them to order mead from the bar tender while trying to find out who is the assassin in the room. You know how That Guy will stab people for no reason? yeah they do that alot, so I make sure that they get realistic responses. Its hard to get out of the town and into the dungeon that's for sure.

People that can't play with women always make me laugh. In my experience if you want a more story based pen and paper. Women are some of the best players because they get involved in the story. My two female players take the best notes, make some of the better decisions and usually have a lot more of an idea of what is going on.

Exclude the girl, and you pretty much got my gaming group. Never making an effort to actually get anything going themselves, and never appreciate the work I put in to all the games we play.

Only time one of the guy actually tried to make an effort, he was in charge of a barbecue evening with game night to follow. First up, he plans a good 3 weeks ahead, and still calls me 10 minutes before Im about to go to his place and ask if I can "pick up some necessities". These "necessities" ended up in me buying everything for the whole god damn barbecue! And to top it of, he hadn't even started a fire when the guests arrived, so everything was delayed as fuck, he had forgot where he had placed the game that we where supposed to play, and ended up playing some shitty card game.
And what do you know, every single person at his place where all like "well good for trying, you really put some effort in to this, yada yada yada"... The fucker didn't even treat us with soda and chips and was a terrible host... sigh.. Just had to get this of my chest.

There's an obvious real-world solution for this. If this took place on campus, have her report him to campus authorities, and to local law enforcement. It sounds like she clearly has proof. It's not just 'that-guy' territory we're talking about here - it's an actual crime. This is border-line stalking and 'That-Guy' needs some special attention from the authorities.

Frustrated spell caster here. My DM has been bugging me. All his sessions lately turn into "I found this big scary monster in my 3rd party monster manual" battle of the week fight club. The most recent session makes me not want to come back.

When it comes to D&D this is what you should've been doing by default. It's not a system that's robust enough to allow for creativity when numbers are the only consistent thing the players have access to and magic is designed to win without numbers.

your DM is doing that thing some DMs do when their awesome bbeg of the weak dies way sooner than expected. you should tell him to stop intentionally underpowering your characters for the sake of cinematics. if he responds with anything other than "i understand" this isn't going to stop until the party is dead.

I don't have much of a story to contribute but I'm pretty sure my players are going to get themselves killed this week.

One of them acts like a complete dumbass and the party had to talk him out of jumping down an elevator shaft last session.

Another one is playing a literal murder-hobo and also killed his entire tribe/family in his backstory.

Party is doing a job for a big time crime boss and the murder-hobo has decided that when they finish this job he is going to kill the crime bosses right hand man.

Now I'm all for that but there is no way they succeed just going toe to toe with these guys and I don't want to make it too easy on them because I feel like that would be just as bad as telling them no.

Make the bad guys act as if they were expecting it, with way more guards and security measures than usual when they meet.
If they still are dumb enough to follow with the plan, make it almost impossible to win

If they win somehow, it will at least be a dumbfest of unbelieveble luck.

If they lose, kill all of them.

Or maybe kill them but try to cripple one of them, make the villain give him a humiliating speech and then throw the guy into a slum far away, maybe in the turf of some rival crime boss, intending to show people what happens to those that try to pull a fast one on him.

Make a rando murder-hobo that acts just like themselves get him, search him for valuables and then murder him in the most anti climitic way possible.

it's an important thing to learn. the only shit that matters is what you do in the moment, and considering how many creeps and social idiots are in this hobby i think it's extra important to make women at the table (especially if they're the only woman) feel safe (i.e. just treated like everyone else)
