The same thing you get when you strip the tropes from any character: nothing.

somebody who has no real business fighting the undead, demons, rampaging beastmen, or anything other than hanging around courts and town squares.

This thread was an excuse to post a picture that gets you hard.

THE IMAGE YOU POSTED IS SEXUALLY AROUSING!

Thought you should know

that settee is magnificent

Serious Answer?
You get an everyman. Some Joe Schmoe who knows a little bit about a lots of things because he's seen other people do it or kind of dabbled at it, but never really dedicated himself to something. Jack-of-all-trades, master of none.

>everyman
>Joe Schmoe who knows a little bit about a lots of things because he's seen other people do it or kind of dabbled at it, but never really dedicated himself to something
>Jack-of-all-trades, master of none
All of these are tropes.

An ugly unassuming story-teller without charisma?

Like literally, those are all tropes:

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JackOfAllTrades

You literally get nothing. Because every fucking fictional character has some trope or some inversion or subversion of a trope to it. There's only 7 fucking stories to ever be told, just learn to make it fun and interesting

Literally nothing, you fucking imbecile.

Couldn't the core characteristic of the bard be maintained without falling into common patterns?

First post.

>reddit spacing

A "core concept" of a thing is LITERALLY a "common pattern".

If there weren't a common pattern, there would be no concept to attach a name to.

I'm not convinced.

Consider the following bard characteristic:
>Practitioner of an art

This characteristic is commonly manifested as:
>Bard plays a musical instrument

The two are not the same

...

Your question is irrelevant

Source is Luna Amor

thank you, reverse image search didn't pull anything

>Bard is a practitioner of an art
is itself a trope. If you wanted to ask about non-traditional bards, that's one thing, but you should learn what words mean before you use them.

Meh it's all solo stuff or lesbian breastsucking

she doesnt take a dick in any of her videos

A naked bard.

good robot

But that's the best part you swine

Fine by me man, I prefer solo/lesbian to m&f

>meme arrows

>he's ever even heard of 4chinz

>trope
ugh

>meme arrows
>not maymay arrows
step it up senpai

You say that like it's a bad thing. I'm selfish, jealous, and don't want to see a dick in a woman unless it's mine.

If memory serves me, when bards first appeared in D&D, you had to take levels in rouge, then fighter, and then druid in order to become a bard.

So... take away the tropes, you have a guy who is slightly knowledgeable about fighting and thievery, with the ability to cast Nature/Holy magic, focusing on a kind of audio-based magic, cast fourth or channeled through a musical instrument.

I mean, my headcannon for bards always was: these guys come from a tradition of adventuring and dabbling in many martial and magic arts, while casting magic through music. They're are called "bards" because its easy to confuse them, the professional adventures, with actual bards, who are professional traveling musicians.

What? No. A Bard is a Storyteller. Usually a musician, but let's be honest, when someone says "The Bard", they're talking about Shakespeare, a writer.

If you want to strip it down, that's what you get, a Storyteller. Usually presented as an active performer, since Bard as a class is usually in an RPG with action elements. Magic, skills, everything else varies from game to game.

Have an orc.

probably a footfag

submissive

cuckhold

Let me see if I can follow your logic here.
>exclusively faps to female solo or lesbian porn
>doesn't like seeing a dick in porn
>clearly he must be a cuck
Yeah, I don't follow. Care to explain?

>likes girl on girl or solo girl
>footfag
Look I know you get off to watching women getting railed by men that arent you but theres no need to be defensive about it

>replying to 0.075/10 trolls

Zoinks

You sadden me, user.

Does she at least go down on other women? I can work with that.

Did an isopod eat your brain and replace it or something?

A very slimy puddle of jizz.

And idiot full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

actually was gonna post this but I was surprised to see somebody had already sourced it

how come image searching through the dropdown menu on the post shows do results, but going to google and searching this image manually shows actual results?

No.
Even if you literally strip the bard of everything he has, and leave him as just a guy, that's a trope.

Depends on character.

So it's tropes all the way down then?

A lonely girl spending time by herself is just my thing, user.
Bonus points if she seems frustrated about it.

Exactly.
There is no escaping tropes. It's just choosing which combination of tropes you want to embody. Actually coming up with new tropes is work for people with MFAs and shit.

Ah, but they're not bard-specific tropes. That's an improvement.

So you're a moron. Gotcha.

Mister Music Mann

A blind, retarded, deaf, drunk Chinese dog, violently dry heaving

You know, I never saw the appeal of tits bigger than my head. Its always been about proportion for me. Used to know a chick about 1.5m tall with a-cups that looked great on her, and one about 1.7m with DDs at 14 who looked just as great.

This shit gets replies while creative threads drown.

one of my bard players is a snakeman orator right now, his character seems fine without any bard trope.

A journalist. A bard is a storyteller, his role is to witness adventures and portray the facts to other people. As this said, usually they are musicians, but they can be writers, for example. If you take away the artistic part, all that remains is a journalist.
