It's nearly a decade old, Veeky Forums

It's nearly a decade old, Veeky Forums.

Did you have fun playing my game?

Your audience has moved, you'll get better response there. Good luck.

thanks boy

Never around for it, but seemed pretty nice from what i've seen dood

I did. it was a classic, and still is. those types of quests aren't around much anymore

Back when this board didn't have its head up its own ass. Good times.

Weaver legit taught me how to draw. With his simple designs, nonetheless paired with evocative storytelling and gathering a fanbase. I thought, "If he can do it, I can do it."

So I learned to draw by studying his art, eventually moving on to study other quest artists and learn the art of mashing shapes together to vaguely look like things. I'm not great, but I'm a lot further than I'd be if he hadn't done Ruby Quest, which is nowhere. So for that I'll always be thankful.

Holy crap, has it really been that long? Seems like it was only yesterday that we woke up in the box.

moved, to akun yeah, and they still browse Veeky Forums anyway

Pretty sure everyone who was here for it is still around

I know I am.

I sure am. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Missed being able to actually participate by a couple years, but greatly enjoyed reading it.

It was furry shit from start to finish. It had a moment or two, though.

>It's nearly a decade old
My god, has it been that long already? What's happened to the world?

Hey user, I enjoyed it. Even if it's furry shit, it was still pretty enjoyable.

>have been here since ruby quest
>still have somehow not Read ruby quest'
>like weavers humor
?????
why have I not corrected this already?

Also new and older quests gotten worse once they moved to /qst/.

It blew my mind to learn that Weaver made like half of 4chans classic reaction images. Chances are if it's not made by Blue then it's Weaver

Where has the time gone?
Veeky Forums wasn't perfect, and there's no use in romanticizing the past, but I miss how Veeky Forums used to be. Maybe one of these days we'll have content creators again.

It's good to see you again, hope the years have treated you well.

You know the answer to this question already.

This isn't QTG but name some old quests you guys miss.

Nazi's in Fantasyland

>Banished
>Hellborn
>pretty much ever RE: Noun
>Totemist
>Racketeer
>Skeleton

We're all dead and this is Hell?

That was how i found Veeky Forums. I still remember sitting in my highschools computer lab at 8pm to participate in the final session.

Now i have a steady job that i love, a home i own, a wife, two cats and a kid on the way.
So thank you weaver for a fun quest, and fuck you weaver for getting me to this fucking board.

Even Kobold?

This really does make more and more sense.

Alright, maybe not Kobold.
Lets say "the quest Kobold looked like it was going to be for the first couple sessions."

I wasn't around back then, and actually found the poem first. Good read.

>Hellborn
man I miss that
>Deniable Assets Quest
>Predator Quest
>Last Companion
(even if we only got two threads)
>Transformers Quest
being a robot shark cop was awesome
>Capes of Rain City
>Exabyte in general
>Totemist
>Ogre Civ Quest
>BFQ
And all the others that even I've forgotten

Was that the one that spiraled rapidly into incest horseshit?

>Banished
Did Soma ever come back and write that epilogue like he said he would?

I only ever played Ogre Civ and Maverick Hunter.

What? No. At least I don't think so. It's the one that started off looking like comfy adventures and suddenly there's this unbeatable bad guy skinning people alive and wearing masks made from faces and shit.

MHQ is still running, why not pop on over to /qst/?

>Ogre Civ
Oh fuck, how could I forget Boss Bawss.

>BFQ
No, that one I'm glad to have seen the back of. Horrible QM, horrible people, fucking Snapple.

I miss Cyclops Civ Quest. That shit was great.

>Still bitching that you couldn't beat somebody over your level

Jesus.

Nope.

It was garbage, but there was something about those threads, the rampant paranoia and feverish planning in the midst of depraved sex.
It was an interesting time, and coincided with my late sexual awakening, making for a very confused time

Oh. The one I was thinking of is the kobold started by claiming to be a king to woo a princess then later it turned out he was the kid of some god and started lewdly touching noses with his half sister.

It was just a huge tone shift, man. It went from cheery if slightly wary romping about to traumatized foxgirls watching their homes burn down and everybody getting locked in pits while the guy talks about butchering them for alchemical reagents. Shit gave me whiplash.

Yeah, it was fun. Glad it had a happy ending.

...

>It's nearly a decade old, Veeky Forums.
Why am I still here. When will I get too old for Veeky Forums

Even if you marry, have children, and find happy fufillment, you will never get too old for Veeky Forums.

I wasnt here for this and I have no idea what it is. Somebody give me a quick rundown?

The quest that started quests as a real thing on Veeky Forums, really. We've had quests before it, called adventures back before people decided to expand on the concept of prompted storytelling and turn it into a quest.

>Heretical Love Quest.
Goddamn did I love this piece of Trash. It was every generic Harem Isekai ever... But with 40k, and that was all it ever needed to be. Complete and utter garbage with 40k waifus attached, generic tropes and all.

I do see a lot of the old guard. Some of it on here, but more and more of it on 8/tg/. Managed to meet the one /v/-user who started the idea on /v/ that another user stole and brought here to become Night Shift. Also most of the anons who worked on the original homebrew chapters.

Dorf Quest

>actually going to infinity

Disgusting

Ive never gotten around reading RubyQuest, it was ongoing when I found out about it and I kept procastinating it, does it still hold up enough to be worth the read or was it a marvel of its era?

user, I go to plebbit to, and official gaming forums. The honest truth is that depending on any one social media source ends up making you dependant on it. It also tends to homogenize your opinions with everyone else's, like people who exclusively watch CNN or Fox for their news.

Content creation isn't Veeky Forums related; only movies, comics, and politics are.

>Oh no, cartoon animals!

It had pictures for everything. That still elevates it.

Quit whining, Plenty of content creation was done barely a year or two back when I was prodding projects along with the FVGT, the problem is that as soon as you stop being productive and prompting people, so does everyone else. By the way, Has anyone heard from Batavi-user lately? I've been gone for months.

Its an old af horror quest loosely based in the world of Animal Crossing.

I've been here since 2003. I've accepted that I'll be here until the day I die.

Yes. Back when playing games was considered preferable to bait threads as Veeky Forums content. Good times

All quest must fall, all quest must be forgotten. Begone.

I never read the quest but I like your porn

Tax Quest
Leaf Ninja Quest
Commander Quest
Capes of Rain City

>Trying to pass as Weaver
Weaver isn't around Veeky Forums since like 4 years by now, perhaps more.

I know this because I'm on his pan. and discord.

Is that bunn about to get told its not white by a 'le 0% face'?

No. I thought it was inferior to many MSPAFA's.

I think he's posing as the rabbit, dude.

Evangelion quest

Oh god, the memories. Also in case someone wants it, someone put the story all in a series of flash archives which has the story in a visual novel kinda way. With some of the best comments added in, and also fanart too.

I remember fucking crying at the end, that was some of the best shit this place has produced.

HUG NOTE
READ TOM

Quests got worse once non-drawquests became acceptable, because until that point art skills had been the only real barrier to entry for making a new quest. (Unless you were willing to shitscribble your way to success like the Dorf Quest guy did.)

When you said "incest" I thought you were talking about the one with the knight who almost fucks his mom.

Banished Quest, Capes of Rain City, and the one I forgot the name of. I only remember Shax and her big fucking sword.

Speaking of Capes of Rain City and Worm/Ward, Blindside is defintely referenced in Ward Arc 1, right? Its a different powerset but the name, martial arts, and Alaskan origin is the same.

Check Sleeping God too.

Is that a fanfic, /qst/ or something else?

Slow CM's stuff, and that guy who did Orc, Dwarf, and Machine civs. shame that the latter kind of went to shit the longer he went.

I like mostly non drawquests, though.
Text only stuff or with like questfags avatarfagging or using fanart,
or like album covers made for posts are my preference

Yeah. It was alright.

I HAVE repeated to myself, that if Ruby could survive the metal glen, I could survive this.

What the fuck you up to now?

Did he ever finally get a site with all his shit on it?

He's posting as Ruby, not as Weaver

Oversized Weapon Quest is the one with Shax, and it finished rather than died.

Why are anthro-rabbits always so sexy?

Yea, like three days ago.

Quest, one of the best, according to some people who also mentioned the quests above. Sleeping Gods*

I remember Ruby Quest and it's spinoffs, they we're all worth the time it took to read them. It was also one of the few times anyone ever showed real interest in anything I asked.

"Ask Red if he would like to escape with you."

Friendly reminder that there are still decent quests going on in /qst/ with no worse a success rate than decent threads on Veeky Forums.
Some quests might even match your tastes, making even the less than decent ones more interesting to you, personally.

Drawquests are rare.
Good OC quests are also rare.
But they still exist on Veeky Forums.
Just at a slower pace.

And sometimes, they include the somehow comfy genocide of vegetable people.

or go to anonkun. its better, it has porn

Modern Satyr Quest

Anonkun?

It was something magical. I'm getting all teary eyed nostalgic just thinking about it...

fiction.live

its a questing website that was developed by a fa/tg/uy when the crack down started way back when.

>Anonkun
Faster paced, more trafficked, more porn, more fetishes, more degeneracy, Yes.
Better? meh.
It's just a question of whether or not the quests you sift through looking for a good one have smut or not.
I prefer Veeky Forums by a wide margin.

As a QM, I prefer Akun because of live timers and not having to make a new thread every session. It's the only way I can really ease into writing the quest and not flake out.

>Ironhearts
>Totemist
>Binder Quest
>Harlem Quest
>Kobold Quest

There were some good quests back in the day.

As a QM I prefer Akun because the chapter system makes it easier to arrange the flow of my quest and makes keeping track of important stuff easier. Its also a lot more readable in presentation.

Nope. reddit-fed normies from pol ensure we'll never have good things again.

You know, I was going to make the point that even old fags from Veeky Forums still browse a few subreddits but I know what you actually meant is that the community as a whole has shifted in tone and demeanor because now there are youngins who don't really get what this community was.

Veeky Forums was always an outlet for escapism to some extent, but it was also about being a creative outlet to satisfy everyone's desire to make something new and novel or at least representative of themselves. There's certainly still some of that but very few and far between. Long gone are the days of Veeky Forums gets shit done.

On topic, that outpouring of creativity is what made quests work here to begin with. I somehow doubt /qst/ brings the same crop to market, at least not on the same scale.

I haven't seen Hive Queen Quest since October last year.

Top tier experience.
Even as an archived read.
The last truly good quest on/tg/

>live timers
If you mean what I think you do, I understand but fundamentally disagree with it as a benefit.

>not having to make a new thread every session
You don't need to do this on /qst/ unless you're updating less than once a week.

>the chapter system makes it easier to arrange the flow of my quest and makes keeping track of important stuff easier.
Fair enough.

>Its also a lot more readable in presentation.
Deeply arguable.

There's a few worlds that got built in /qst/ that would make for interesting settings, but you won't see them posted here.

>Omnipotence
Waifufags killed it long before Vedibere dropped it, but it was fun while it lasted.

MHQ has got the be the longest running quest by now. Is there anything else that has survived as long?

Wow, you just summed up the main problem with the board more succinctly than I could have.
