I want a game where fantastical heroes cleave through hundreds of cannon fodder at once, and eventually clash after cutting swarthes through entire armies.

This feel is too real.

The best RWBY character has already been made by Veeky Forums.

What should his Green Dust do?

...

biohazardgamespublishing.com/upwind/

Yeah but this is in the works, so hold out hope brother.

Stupid fucking cancelled MML3

>Chaingun Chainmail Chainsaw Chainwhip
N-nani

That's actually pretty neat, thanks user

But in my years I've seen dozens of systems with similar concepts come and go, all of them with heavy focus on lore like this one seems to have, and none of them could really capture the magic of Arcadia
I'm not sure what it is about it, there was just something about how the game specifically handled everything that "clicked"

There was even a Veeky Forums attempt to homebrew a Skies system at one point, but it went just as horribly as you can expect
It is heartwarming that that kind of setting is still popular enough to warrant stuff like this though

I feel like I've seen this before for some reason.

I hate to say it... but try Exalted maybe?

>only posting one
You are like little babies.

>Storm Hawks
The idea of being a Sky Knight flying around on transforming motorcylcles with not!lisghtsabers and crystal magic does something to me.
>Bully
The idea of clique wars fought with fists and potato guns while going to class and chasing girls does something to me.
>Overlord
The tacit but treated as completely normal video game aesthetic strikes me as pretty cool, and the setting actually has interesting stuff going on. Ignore Nazarick.
>Jak 2 & 3
GTA but in the future, with monsters.
>Worm
I don't want to play Weaver Dice, but nobody who doesn't want to run Weaver Dice would want to use Worm's setting.
>Ilvermorney
American Hogwarts. Literally. Imagine a Harry Potter game, but not British and a large degree of freedom to play in a magic school that no one could feasibly have much meta-knowledge of.
>Percy Jackson
Literally begging to be adapted. Unique abilities based on your godly parent, magic camp shenanigans, monsters, magic, and literal quests.

Japanese school girl SoL

My friends wouldn't be into it.

>Was the user in thread helping the 4chain come to be
>Still posted years later
Feels good.

The Phyrexian Invasion or Brother's War

>fires meme arrows
Sold.

Green dust is wind.

Why do I recognize that name? I know I wasn't there. You were there?

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Ranma 1/2, Overwatch, and there's probably others but they don't come to mind right now.

I'm not sure why you recognize it, its drawings have been reposted many times. The thread was late 2013/early 2014.

archive.4plebs.org/tg/search/text/4chain/

You probably saw one of these posts.

I'm actually in a RWBY campaign right now, although we skipped this and last week. We'll be playing next Wednesday.

Tell me more.

How many of you are cute girls?

Obligatory Wakfu comment.

The Stormlight Archive. Maybe during the years before the final desolation.
Or just the Cosmere in general.

Never had a chance to play a RWBY game but some friends and I ended up making characters and I ended up fucking around and making more for fun.

>Friend is in a RWBY campaign
>Talks about his character
>Immediately go ahead and make my own
>Will never get to play him since the two runs I know of are all full

I essentially made pic related who wields an oversized sharps instead of a lucius. No fancy hybrid gun, just an unnecessary amount of blades and hidden shivs in the folds for melee. He also can make rocks explode.

A campaign about character becoming Heralds and fighting the desolations, that would be cool.

>>Storm Hawks
>>Jak 2 & 3
>>Worm
Fuck yeah man

Cool, most of the characters I have are based around gods (our theme was Greco-Roman primordials/titans) including all the characters in the party.

its actually a bretty gud idea desu. Especially on the shattered plains, i can easily envision several classes for that.

A "Last Stand" like biopunk-heavy setting where all technology is replaced with biotech, right down to phones with bioluminescent "screens" and everything.

>tfw i didnt get to see adolin reunited with that shardblade in the most recent book
Sad, it looked like that could have gone somewhere

Give it another book. That story is definitely not done.

>Half Life 2, where the players are Americans living in City 13
and trying to get to a government teleportation lab to punch in coordinates given to them by a mysterious benefactor promising it will take them to a paradise far away from the hell of Combine occupation

>Setting where the party are essentially refugees living on a planet of refugees,
because they got abducted and the Galactic Federation isn't willing to let them return to Earth due to the possibility of technical or cultural contamination, so they live as second class citizens in an otherwise utopic post-scarcity setting where the world is fundamentally alien and not designed for them

>Gotham,
where Batman got Bane'd and the party are "good" detectives on the GPD who quit due to corruption, and decide to go Punisher on the various villains

>50s-70s noire FBI men in black,
dealing with American Red Scare, UFOs, occult senate illuminati, vampires, Vietnam, Moon Landings and other bump-in-the night activity

>Being investigative reporters in a fictional African nation
on the outset of civil war in the 2030s, with US and Chinese interests ripping it apart for its rare earth metals, while tracking down a Syrian arms dealer who is arming both sides and who can prove who is complicit in the ongoing bloodshed.

>Zero-to-hero post apocalyptic Seven Samurai
where technobandits with killer robots come to take their peasant food, so they go across the ruined nation to find help to stop the warlord.

>A religious war between cows, chickens, goats, and pigs,
taking place entirely on a farm between various factions worshipping their God, Old McDonald. Players would pick between the various interpretations of the will of God, and get into inter-sect feuds and warfare until they either win the holy schism or all unite in liberation.

Maybe someday, maybe... But until then I'm left with shitty greentext ideas and players who are only interested in straight-up fantasy, or much more lighthearted fare.

Everyone.

Some others:

>End of the universe,
where heat-death has finally won out. Now the party are among the last holdouts on a Dyson sphere around a dying red dwarf, fighting to hoard supplies, heat, and keep others from around the universe outside and away from them.

>New World exploration,
where the party arrives by boat to a fantasy Not America, and have to be the agents of colonization to learn about the ruins dotting the land, the extinct local people ("wait they were JUST here, wtf happened?"), and violent wildlife only to learn that the weird trees all over the land are actually the former natives, who all got turned into trees during a magical ritual gone horridly wrong, so the party has the option of resurrecting them into a world where foreign powers have looted them/burned them for fuel/occupied their lands or leave them as trees so the tree-people don't fight for their belongings and land

>War of the Worlds,
This short campaign would be in England during the original WW1-era invasion, but fighting ayys with bolt-actions, black powder, etc.

>Kaiju attack
The players' home would be under attack from some horrible monster like an abyssal fiend worm or something, and they have to get a musical mcguffin to awaken the Tarrasque to fight it, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah style, all while fighting the death cult that awakened the worm for their end-of-days ritual.

>Lich Phylactery
Where the level 5 party has to escort a dead lich's phylactery to the place it was created to permanently kill him but he still pops out of the phylactery in a weakened state every few days, necessitating repeated ass-kickings, or using the Lich as an unpredictable, violent, powerful game mechanic to defeat enemies they normally couldn't.

>The entire tropical island is a turtle,
and after 1,000 years of slumber it's about to wake up and dive, drowning all on board, unless they can find a way to make it slumber again.

Oh yeah, i just wish they got back together at the end of this one.

...

What would the best system to run a RWBY game be? Are there any resources?

>There will never be a Storm Hawks season 3
It hurts to live

Now I really want to play a RWBY game with as a Roman warrior character

In a way my character (based around Janus) was that. Literally had a roman tower shield and a sword for melee (with a glaive form that he had to figure out how to make work).

I hate how its become a meme game at this point but I genuinely would love to run a campaign based off Dark Souls in the world of Lordran, I just don't know how I'd incorporate the time distortion or dark sign mechanics

>Sky pirates and adventure
You have my curiosity
>Card Based
But now you have my attention. There aren't enough card based systems out there and I have a bizarre fetish for them.

Our group run a RWBY-esque game in Anima; it takes some homebrew tinkering but it more or less fits since it's made for over the top anime action

Fucking radical

I wouldn't.

The people who you will end up playing it with will be the biggest special snowflakes you'll ever meet.

RWBY's a fun setting if you can come up with a fun weapon and semblance power. Made an Oni inspired hunter that could control her inertia and weilding a grenade launcher kanabo. Spent the entire first game DK-slamming wolves and the entire second game lassoing them out of the air and into the water as they tried to board our escape boat. Added a hookshot to my weapon after that.

As for settings I want to play in already has it.

>Ranma 1/2
I didn't even know I wanted this game all my life until just now.

There's a lot of martial arts games, but not a lot that would involve martial arts ice skating or martial arts tea ceremony.

Or a third of your party of super human martial artists getting totally crippled if it rains.

There's a lot I would do with this setting, and a lot that can be done with a two very fleshed out realms and lots of character posibilities. Even just running it as a group of young adventurers with their own eclectic assortment of skills and disarming traps while uncovering the secrets of some ruins sounds fun. All with the science-fantasy backdrop.

Pseudo dark souls where you play as a group of undead trying to get from point a to b.
Keeping with the setting, death is inevitable and the whole thing is basically Dante must die mode but only for the players.

Already have a Not!undead curse in my games that I run. It only effects humans, and other races are a weird mix of jealous that they can be truely immortal and relief that they can't become one.

Call me a 40k fag all you want, but goddamn I want to play a game as a part of a Titan crew.

Then bring your own players

Making OP special snowflake characters is like half the point of RWBY. Though it helps if your group has some sort of theme to work around like the actual show teams.

I've always wanted to play a game in a pre-shit Souls setting. Like a functioning Yarnham with the Hunters and the Church still around and all those towns and cities in Dark Souls, but populated. It can still be dark and brutal, but with a semblance of a functioning society.

why would you play a RWBY game and not be a cute girl? Otherwise you'd just be playing a Soul Eater game

A friend of mine who published a few games already made a starship troopers inspired rpg, when usually you mostly roll to see how many xeno grunts you have killed instead of doing checks to see if you hit, its pretty fun, im gonna ask him whats the name and check if there's an english version, im sure its easy to homebrew a fantastical version for it.

When you put it like that, a Soul Eater game would be pretty dope. Also

>not wanting to be a guy who gets all the cute girls
I'd sooner play as a Jaune-esque character (suffering included) than a Ruby-tier one.

Magical real twist on Paranoia
>modern setting
>morning of the weird wave
>all women have been turned into incontinent traps
>nobody besides the women have realized this
>they are completely unaware that they are not the only one's changed by the wave, though, and are completely embarrassed by it
>PC's are recently changed women trying to figure out what happened while trying to hide they've been changed from the other PC's and all NPC's

Jaune's pretty cool, but
>implying he gets any girls
at least Ren has spent the last 10 years leading Nora on

naruto

>Functional anor Londo
>silver knights that don't want to rape you with great arrows
>Bosses as NPCs
>Giant Smith dude being a bro like usual

I ran a Soul Eater game, but it only lasted two sessions. 6 players working in pairs, one statted as the miester, the other as the weapon. It was some amount of fun, but I made a grave error: I mistakenly allowed a weapon player to be a F-14 Tomcat and it went about as poorly as you think. I'd like to try running another, but be a lot more strict about character creation.

Back to /d/, but I hope you enjoyed your stay.

>>silver knights that don't want to rape you with great arrows
Let's not get too far into the realm of fancy. The player characters just won't have a reason to climb onto Gwyn's roof anymore.

>Let a player be a fucking attack jet
Why did you think this would end well in the first place?

>I mistakenly allowed a weapon player to be a F-14 Tomcat and it went about as poorly as you think
why the fuck would you do that?

Currently running a game heavily inspired by this. Do it. It's the most fun I've ever had playing an rpg.

Because I naively thought the player wouldn't go full ham and didn't know the full depth of his military autism. And, in the spirit of the setting, I wanted everyone to have fun. I take full responsibility for my mistake.

SOMETHING OTHER THAN SKYRIM OR THE "REAL" WORLD WITH FANTASY RACES TACKED ON, FUCKING GOLARION IS BETTER THAN THAT SHIT
To give you an idea of just how shit things are, the most fun I had was in a Final Fantasy VIII campaign where we played side characters of our own instead of having to play the main cast. I developed a hilariously prissy rivalry with Squall after he upstaged me at the dance, managed to win an impromptu shooting contest with a revolver, pulled off a train job, shit was cash.

>tfw you'll never play a campaign in Spira

Did he at least go full metal jacket and do something 'nam related?

None of my friends are even remotely interested in tokusatsu, so I highly doubt I could ever convince them to play an Ultraman game.

I dunno, anything after MML2 would feel like a let down.

Any/all of them

>The real reason the silver knights attacked us is because we were violating the NAP

Me too brother. Me too. Erase all the powers of sharingan except the heightened senses and copying (and not accessible to players). Focus on the child soldiers aspect. Keep the power level for everyone but legendary kage low. Like 3rd hokage vs orochimaru level.

The world is too cool to pass up. Anachronistic technology. A world that just finished one war, is leading to another, and in the midst of a constant cold war using living kaiju nukes?? It writes itself.

No. He blew up Sherlock Holmes' apartment, the Baskerville Manor, the surrounding forest, killing many innocent humans, and then got pissed off at me when Death locked him in the dungeon. When the player started making plans to start eating innocent human souls, there was an enormous argument and we decided to stop the game.

I mean, you were literally breaking into the royal palace.

Fuck did you expect?

>Monster Hunter
I just want to kill monsters and make pants out of them. Is that so much to ask?

>kaiju nukes
Remove these too and it's good.

>google f-14 tomcat
>it's a motherfucking fighter jet

...

not only a fighter jet, the most undefeated fighter jet in history

Dragonball and Z.

I recognize this design but I can't remember what it's from for the life of me.

Tower of God looks like a fun setting

Google gives me "The Five Star Stories".

Does that creepy girl have a sword for a leg?

I think her sword is just behind her knee. You can see the fold in the back of her leg.

No, it's just prospective

Yep

They are great plot points and macguffins. One of them dies and it's now a race to reclaim it for your village. Your macguffin just up and left? Track him down and convince it to return, or try and capture him if needed.

They inflate the power levels too much.

I have to agree. I find the idea of having stories centered around the tailed beasts to be kind of unappealing.

That's why I wouldn't humanize or center the plot around them as characters. They are weapons. It also adds to the cold war aspect. M.A.D. is a fundamental part of it. This world just has finite nukes that you can kidnap.

Out of curiosity what were the other weapons?

...
