Same here. If somebody wants to play cat man/woman, I'd let them do so. I might cast an eye in their direction now and then, watching for possible shenanigans, but I wouldn't shut them down a priori.

All the players love me, actually. Might be cause it seems I'm a motherfucker sniper of the group and (apparently) field medic.

That being said, just 2 sessions in, and we're barely surviving, wealth or even gender hasn't really entered the equation.

Same situation for me. I'm labelled as the group's resident 'furry' due to my insistence on not playing two races twice, leading me to going through mots of the beastfolk at least one time or another. Only classic race I haven't done yet is dwarf.

It doesn't really bother me, and I don't think anyone had a problem with my tabaxi character. Most of them actually liked it due to the double-movement racial feature.That, combined with monk class, let me pick up McGuffins and the like mid-battle amongst other things.

All-in-all, if you are decent, doesn't matter what race you are if you're with decent players.

I don't have a problem with tabaxi, but I'm assuming (correct me if I'm wrong) that the tabaxi hate is an extension of kitsune shit. I've never played with a kitsune. If I didn't go to Veeky Forums, and someone mentioned them, I'd assume they were talking about magical Japanese foxes and ttrpgs would be the furthest thing from my mind.

Still kick in most cases. Or at least probation and make a new character. Beast races, or races in general in the hands of most players, tend to be more window dressing and mechanical variation. It's not going to be super intrusive. Anime tends to be a personality/playstyle and a shitty one at that. I've seen a lot of people think it's funny/cool to make living shonen/ecchi cliches and do dumb shit for the sake of being like the media their character is inevitably a ripoff of. Tends to be really disruptive in anything other than the most casual, goofy campaigns.

In earlier versions they were slightly less obnoxious in that being a Kender was a sure way to get every guard in town to follow you around, shaken down whenever somebody reports something stolen, and barred from every store in town because you might nick shit, because people on Krynn are born having passed the stage of "aww, you adorable little rapscallion". Not like that helps when you're in a dungeon and the Kender is poking his nose into every possibly monster-infested hole, puling on every rope, picking up every suspicious statue and coin, and taunting everybody with a weapon bigger than he is. At least you can take solace in the fact that the little shit will probably be killed in combat in short time, it being AD&D and all.
