You have 30 seconds to justify a setting where every adult regardless of occupation wears a tightly fitted full-body suit with not an inch of skin on display.

Hard mode: No "this is my fetish" reasoning
Nightmare mode: Also no space magic

I'll wait.

Mass effect already did it.

>NO SPACE MAGIC
Quarians are one of the few races in the game without Space Magic, nor does it play any part in why they wear the suits (which is due to having super weak immune systems where even slight exposure to outside viruses could kill them).

Have you never read Scifi before, because this one was easy. Mass Effect isn't even the only setting to the whole contamination thing.

Hyper-militarist race of cyber-enhanced clones that damaged their health and genetics with repetitive cloning beyond any salvation. Literally falling apart and on a brink of extinction, their only solution is to keep cloning and hope for miracle to cure them. Skin and limbs are first to give in and quickly replaced with full-body armor and prosthesis. Armor also includes life support functions that support or completely replace failing internals.

5 points to the first who recognize the race

That sounds like the daleks from doctor who.

Grineer?

Sounds like the Grineer

Well, that one's easy. Just look at the body suit in the picture (the adult is inside, about on the "navel" level of the body suit).

congrats, you won 5 points of literal nothing

Space potatoes lead by an angry cyborg chicken and two body snatchers, one of which looks like a fat worm/Gorgon.

I'm detecting a large security force heading your way.
It's the grineer.

dune.wikia.com/wiki/Stillsuit

Just set it on Arrakis

Acid rain world/pathogens in the air/camouflage against predators/similarly hostile conditions.

An easy one to mention would be the Fremen, who wear stillsuits that cover 90% of their skin. When fully covered, I believe only their eyes are visible, and their hands but they rub some plant shit on them to protect them too

have a heavy gunner for making me chuckle

Why did you post a purely mechanical Well, or a mechanical/energetic hybrid species?

Windblade's not organic, she's just circuits and engines.

They're life support systems.

How would they fuck? It seems implausible.

...

Cloning?

It's the latest fashion trend.

What's this "fuck" you talk of, hoo-man?

It's in fashion.

Well, not wearing any clothes at all like your pic OP is a good start.

Goddammit, you beat me by 11 seconds

Except
>Nightmare mode: Also no space magic

Pretty sure we had this thread before, user.

Anyway I'll repost what I posted then:

Everyone is a warrior. Every man and woman who comes of age must be ready to fight. Humanity is constantly threatened by an enemy that strikes with such ruthlessness and power that there is no room for civilians. It's a similar situation to the eldar in 40K, where every single citizen must be prepared to take up arms at any time to defend themselves and their home. Thus everyone wears a suit of armor that's protected against most surprise attacks, against sudden depressureization or virus/chemical attacks. Everyone is part of a squad, every squad is part of a unit. Those that show unusual proficiency get secondary training in some military speciality alongside their civilian function.

Better luck next time user.

Everyone is a sexy space ninja. Even the milfs

...

Warframes aren't a body suit though.

TENNO SKOOM

They should be, user. They should be.

Neither are Transformers.

Well, except Pretenders, but they're a fringe case.

woah
too real

>you will never have a cute waifu who is actually a giant alien robot wearing a flesh suit

why even go on, user

it's not fair

There needs to be a transformers setting/RPG

There's some fanmade ones.

...

From what has been posted over the years the best way to do Transformers is FATE. Gotta keep it fast and loose.

>You have 30 seconds to justify a setting where every adult regardless of occupation wears a tightly fitted full-body suit with not an inch of skin on display.
People live on spaceships and space stations.
Decompression is a serious risk.
You either wear a spacesuit 24/7 or you're suicidal.
Done.

Because wearing a robot suit is awesome. They don't need to wear them, they just like to. It's not a fetish thing, mind, it's just so awesome to always be in a suit of power armor that no one even thinks of other possibilities.

Pretty sure the issue is that enclosing the face isn't necessary unless the environment requires.

One possibility is a dystopian setting which enforces social conformity and gender blanking by making everyone wear the suits so it's impossible to tell who is who from casual observation. People could have numerical designations too and the suit could adjust elements so that everyone is the same hight and appearance etc.

Another can be humanity has entered symbiosis with an alien biotechnology that grows around them as children and fully envelopes them as they mature. Think venom symbiotes but not homicidal. It's not discomforting or unusual to be fully enveloped and you only wear clothes as a kid because the skin is still growing. But once your older and completely interface with it you get a best friend and super suit in one. It feeds you, maybe regulates your health etc and let's you do all kinds of fancy shit. You wouldn't then need clothes because the suit would cover all the socially embarrassing parts anyway.

Hideous degenerative disease/irreparable DNA damage on the population level. Skin is the first organ to go.

Carbonan weave skinsuit powered armor that you can wear under heavy armor?

This is actually really fucking cool and creepy. Would make a cool really alien body horror future.

In this setting everyone is a really big scuba enthusiast and they live the life 100%

>spoiler
getting to bang the grineer ballista and heavy gunner is not "literally nothing"

But that's not a suit of armor, that's a robot girl.

That’s my DM’s fetish.

to combat obesity

Both sound great. I've been stumped on how to make the "One World Union" antagonist dystopia of my setting seem nightmarish and will definitely have to use it for that.

The other dystopia is more of a Huxleyan Regime and uses bioconstructs for everything, and they do indeed have suits like what you describe; though they can slip out of its warm, womblike embrace if they wanted to, they rarely bother. The bioconstructs, their suits, their mechs and weaponry, and other equipment are all cultivated from the same fertilized egg, so while they are sometimes covered in metal plating and tend to have electronic interfaces attached. They grow their own (poisonous and corrosive) ammunition, eat to grow, etc.

Such soldiers experience intense chemistry induced sensations of love and loyalty for their creators, and although they envision themselves as the creations of a loving godlike race to protect the ideal society, they are aware that their emotions are used as a method of control and that they are, at best, pets for real people.

They view death as undesirable and may experience frailties such as sentimentality and weepiness over it, a dead friend, a destroyed bio-tool, etcetera, but ultimately the only real consistent cultural trait they have is a martial pride to continue to prove that bioconstructs are more dependable and functional than emotionless, electronic machines so that more of their kind will continue to be born.

They are also aware that enemy regimes would not care to indulge their slaves with positive reinforcement or permit sensations of love, but use electric shocks, deprivation tanks and crueler administrations of negative reinforcement, if they allowed bioconstructs to live at all; so they believe they are not fighting just for their masters, but also for their own kind.

>a heavy gunner eximus will never yell "strength to the grineer!" before shattering your pelvis with her sheer ferrite-armored bulk.

It's their fetish

>ywn Tell her, "Forget the Grineer, Tenno are your masters." as you show her what a Warframe can do to her body.
>ywn hold hands and transform her body into a magnificent tool for the Lotus.

>Ywn get to breed that worm
Can't find the how rude/pic of her with Russian writing so have mfw instead.

Is a robot. don't count.

Yeah, unfortunately no Pretender Arcee.

Air is expensive. To fill an entire room with it is unacceptable waste.

Something something biohazards
Alternatively something something full body interface

Or maybe even more insidious, gradual genetic engineering to turn everybody physically identical

Or they live a fake planet made out of water.

Cause they're Fremen

Spacecraft. Makes going on spacewalks easy. Makes emergency decompression a non-issue. Include monitoring of vital signs, temperature regulation, and an augmented reality computer in the headset. Give it some color too, and rank insignia. It's like a hard sci fi version of Star Fleet uniforms.

planet is hot, nobody wears armor but they do wear robes and like cloth skin suits

>Pretty sure we had this thread before, user.
It turned into a Warframe thread then, too.

>Giant, 'naked' robutts
I am fine with this setting

...

The atmosphere in which the population lives is either highly toxic or irradiated, so they have to wear suits.

Warfarmes aren't people, though. They're telepresence robots run by telepaths.

my first thought is everything in the setting is an OSHA violation waiting to happen, with lots of spinning sharp things for loose clothing to catch on and cause serious injuries.
what the fuck is a warframe?

>what the fuck is a warframe?
A weird Liquimetal teleprescence combat robot psychically controlled by an Operator, collectively referred to as the Tenno.

>what the fuck is a warframe?
It's a vidya with Guyver-style biomechanical superhero people fighting in space.

Jeez, way to spoiler shit, man.

It's what's currently in fashion.

Duh.

Just checking that you realize OP's pic and the the post you replied to are the same thing, right?
