>Yet another X-Wing >No Resistance A-Wing >No Tallie
For what purpose?
Jose Lee
If it takes integrated astro, a title that grants an extra modification and who knows what else, and flipping s-foil cards with like 50 words on each side just to get T-65s to a baseline usable level before pilot abilities and astromechs I think I'd rather just not use T-65s. Sick of all the upgrade bloat.
Robert Collins
I'll open the field. PS1 TIE Reaper. Are they mad enough to make it 19 or 20 points for cheaper Palpatine fun?
Joshua Cooper
To make the T-65 X-Wing competitive again you mong.
>still no K-2S0
Is the Reaper going to be the new Palp mobile like the article suggests.
Christopher Stewart
We've still got an SWX in the wild, don't fret. People think it might be scum falcon though.
We can be sure the RZ-2 is coming, but this is a breath of fresh air to Imps and Rebs. A refresh on a classic ship which needed a dedicated fix, and hopefully some upgrades to give a new ship which was too balanced to make a splash. And for imperials, they get a dedicated small base crew carrier with some teeth.
Nathaniel Sullivan
because the T-65 really needs a boost, resistance A-wing will probably be soon™
Nathaniel Rivera
FFG has been real fucking aggressive with generic pricing lately. I'll be shocked if the Scarif pilot is more than 20 points.
I'm also real interested in all the generic crew in the pack. Looks like we get an ISB Agent and a Tactical Officer.
Leo Rodriguez
Given that Solo is out in May, I feel it's an easy lock to assume that Scum is getting the Falcon with young Han and Lando.
Camden Scott
Different question, there are 5 zealot x-wing pilots. What are the chances its a reduced cost PS 1 generic?
Henry Bailey
Very likely. Probably not lower than 20 points though.
Blake Edwards
I bet it's 20 with cost reduction on Partisan Refit so you will fit a 1 point astro.
James Nelson
Know what would be the ultimate T-65 fix that we'll never get? Bullseye firing arcs.
Chase Thompson
reaper has a 2 red hard, it needs either a white 3 hard or white 1 hard and cost 19 points to be worth it as the new palp shuttle otherwise no real point on taking it since it has 2 less shields, and no stop.
Aaron Ramirez
I doubt it will have any white hards, you're going to have to aileron a 1-bank into another bank.
Ethan Lewis
Advanced Ailerons may change manuever colours, even if it just works like the ailerons on the Striker it will allow for easier turning.
You can also equip the Lightweight Frame for an extra green die.
Austin Smith
Advanced ailerons changes the color of moves on your dual. I'm guessing makes red moves white.
Also, it can take LWF for 2 agility.
Jaxon Rivera
If I had to guess I would say it's probably got a red stop manuever which the title lets you treat as white so you can take regular speed 1 moves but can't just park in a corner taking actions if you choose not to take the title.
Liam Foster
5 X?
That may be the new Jousting king of the game. 15 red dice- 25 health, and 5 discardable damage cards, all on 2 agility and whatever it is that the new mod does.
Ideas?
John Hughes
What's the best imperial ship to have Krennic optimize?
It gives you a shield and the ability to have your missed dice eat shields- It also probably does something else. Krennic also can't optimize any FO stuff (There goes my idea of Optimized Prototype Quickdraw for 4 Shields)
Soontir will be decent with Krennic. So will Whisper. Making her 5 HP is absolutely nothing to sneeze about, and it allows her to do something with her blanks so she isn't forced to take FCS and gunner anymore. Vader would be good too, making him 3/3 and also able to use his blanks without taking predator. /D Defenders aren't bad there either. Strip a shield with one of the dice from the control cannon that won't be doing anything anyway. Almost any Imperial ship is going to like him. And the condition might have more text too.
If they really wanted to they probably could have, but the Sentinel landing craft is probably coming as well, and they figured Imps didn't need 6 shuttles, even if they are just about the only faction that actually cares about logistics.
If it's 19 that would be amazing. Palps after getting nerfed probably deserves to come down in overall base cost. I might play him again at 27-28 points base.
I'm actually betting there is no actual cost reduction so you don't get integrated if you take 5. That would be the best swarm the game has ever had. 15 red dice is no joke, it's more than a full howlrunner swarm, only one less than the eight TIE swarm, and much harder to one shot the some damage off the table. But watch me eat my words and have the S-foils be at -1 point. I'd like a point reduction for all of the other X-wing pilots, they need one. Wedge or Wes for 30 with VI, FAA, and whatever the s-foils do would be amazing.
Yeah giving the bullseye to X-wing would be great if they ever did a 2.0. They really deserve that mechanic.
Also I cannot wait to see what the two new U-wing pilots do. The fact they threw one in blew my mind a little. I so want that ship to be good.
Austin Adams
My money is on Defenders. They're hard enough to kill as it is, and auto-damage lets them worry bad match-ups like Ventress.
Juan Davis
As a rule of thumb, red 2 turns means red 1 turns if it gets them at all.
Isaiah Howard
/D Defenders. Shoot something with your cannon, spend a die that was going to let it hit anyway, deal two damage with your ion shot. Then primary attack. Take Expertise on Ryad, and go to town. Helps that it makes you 7 HP as well.
Ryder Price
Sorry to burst your TIE/D bubble, but Optimized says "Primary Weapon".
Josiah Ramirez
So you're right. Meh, /x7 then. Lets you do something with the blanks and still makes you 7 HP.
Also the extra shield is going to be amazing on Vader and Whisper. I'm excited to think about that.
Elijah Lee
>That's impossible... You're god damn right. How the fuck was the Empire not destroyed in like literally months if Rebels and Rogue One's K/D and win/loss ratios exist?
Nicholas Foster
So Soontir+Krennic is 40 points, but you still need some way to actually get a crew slot for Krennic.
What else goes well there?
Also, what's the third thing Krennic's condition does? There is clearly more text there.
Please be something insane....
Jayden Rogers
>Scum is getting the Falcon with young Han and Lando. That sounds cool I was only looking forward to the gunpod Tie until now
Lincoln Campbell
Wouldn't it be sweet if this X-wing fix would let you cut costs enough that it would be possible to field Team Agamar in a 100 point game?
Joshua Young
So what is team Agamar? You might be able to come close.
Ian Cox
If they want to be insane it will be regen of some kind. That might be too nuts though. Also hilarious but Krennic counters himself in the mirror match. There's a life lesson in that fact somewhere.
We'll say the cheap TIE reaper comes in at 20 points, which seems reasonable. That leaves you with 40 for another ace of some description. QD maybe, if you want something relatively self sustaining. You could also take the Inquisitor for 31 points and then buff up Krennics ship some.
Connor Williams
That Reaper wants LWF pretty bad- an extra agility makes it mean. No idea if ISB Agent or Tac officer is any good though.
John Turner
Wedge, Tycho, Hobbie and Wes I think?
Austin Brown
No but the fact that Imperials are getting some new crew is a good sign. I hope they're actually decent, and I hope one of the Reaper officers comes with a pilot that increases ranges like Stridan. Because systems officer at only range 1 and fleet officer/Hux at range 1-2 is fucking awful and never should have happened. Death troopers give me hope, a stress is a hell of a cost for not shooting a Reaper.
Angel Barnes
Think he met Team Adumar. Wouldn't mind if Keyan got big again, though.
Nathaniel Ortiz
Death Troopers look lackluster and but Krennics condition lets one of your ships with 3 or more shields straight up spend one attack dice for an enemy shield when attacking.
Landon Perry
So were any modifications ever made to the AT-ST in the old lore to improve their performance or capabilities?
Adam Cooper
There was the TIE/ST which was basically an AT-ST head with TIE/LN struts and panels, and used as a light gunship.
Josiah Davis
It's gonna be awkward if T-70s don't get S-Foil mechanics.
Thomas Brooks
It's not just S-foil mechanics though, it's explicitly some kind of modification. Perhaps the T-70 incorporates elements of it already, or the mods don't work with the different wing geometry.
Joshua Ramirez
Using S-foils to fix the X-wing is just retarded, goes against what we see in the movies, and makes it awkward for not only T-70 but also other S-foils equipped ships, like the B-wing and ARC-170.
Nolan Miller
>There was the TIE/ST which was basically an AT-ST head with TIE/LN struts and panels, and used as a light gunship.
Looks like Canon copied another idea from EU then.
Chase Hernandez
He already seems a bit OP already based on what I can make out. Especially his Maximum Firepower card.
>At the end of General Veers activation, he may perform an attack using the following profile >Impact 2, Immune - Deflect on 4 Red Dice.
Red Dice have one blank, five hits, one crit, and one surge.
His basic Blaster has Pierce 1 at range 1-3 on 3 White Dice. White Dice have one crit, one surge, two hits, and four blanks.
Precise - 1. Ignore one enemy block Dice.
Julian Brooks
fuck you I had to look that up
did find this neat tie fighter pen though
Easton Sanchez
>Nucanon did uglies I like this more than I want to admit.
Jaxson Cruz
This isn't the canon I was fighting for.
Jordan Parker
>pen I thought that was something else at first.
Ayden Bailey
Jesus Christ they actually made that thing canon
Luke Green
He has no additional defensive abilities and about as much health as a unit of stormies is his balance, I think.
You've also highlighted an important point, Maximum Firepower is only 4+. So, you can only use it on distant enemies, and then the rest of your activation is randomized. So it's strong, but it means your actual ability to make strategic decisions will suffer.
Caleb Stewart
Bullseye is between the front guides, so it's actually very easy to just houserule them that way. Come to think of it, I might actually just start doing that.
And to any naysayers who say it would have to be on the T-70 or even the B-Wing, their cannons are further apart than what the T-65 has.
Nathan Long
They also made the Torpedo Sphere and Eye of Palpatine Canon.
Canon sure seems to like copying a lot instead of using all this new design space to create entirely new material.
Gavin Robinson
yeah, but this thing was a joke kitbash abomination, not a WEG thing Actually, anyone have the image? I can't find mine
Ryder Stewart
>And to any naysayers who say it would have to be on the T-70 or even the B-Wing, their cannons are further apart than what the T-65 has.
Not *that* much further apart in the case of the T-70.
Oliver Lopez
They'll get their own S-foil upgrade, and the B-wings will get their own, and A-wings will get gun rotation to toggle between forward and back arcs, TIE fighters will get a modification to deactivate one of their ion engines to get 1-straights but lose 4 and 5 straights, and the falcon will get a modification that lets it clean its windshields to reroll one blank evade die. FFG won't stop until there's a card relating to every possible mechanism on every ship.
Robert Brown
They're not really confirmed as being real, as the intel might not be accurate.
Also Daniel Wallace wrote this, and he wrote tons of shit in Star Wars for a long time. Maybe realize the people working on this want to see this stuff come back in.
Brayden Foster
Is it just me or are the characters super overanimated when they talk?
Joshua Mitchell
I've been making an Inferno Squadron Expansion Pack™ and I'd like some feedback on the custom rules. Shitty? Useful? Written poorly?
A bunch of them have placeholder art until I find something that works a little better (Laser Barrage, Better Special Forces TIES), and I think I'm going to do an X-wing and Crew card for Shriv, as well as a Rebel version of the Raider usable with a "Corellian Engineering Refit" title card.
Justin Moore
Given that the closed foils bestow boost in some fashion, surely the T-70 already has S-Foil mechanics built in? Besides, Poe is already going from strength to strength as it is.
Brody Moore
The D10s are super fucking OP, that's Advanced sensors and much improved PTL for less than the cost of either of them.
Logan Martin
Cup holder mod when?
Matthew Evans
Does the normal 65/70 X-wing model have S-foils that can close? Because the partisan ones are closed in the boxed picture.
Thomas Watson
I would make Iden's ability only work on enemy ships he can see in his firing arc. Having it be 360' no scope is a little daft.
Zachary Smith
>his name is Dio >he doesn't force all enemy ships to stop moving for a turn muda da
Jack Jackson
All fixed in place to my knowledge.
Dylan Sullivan
That was always the intent behind scrapping the EU and making it "Legends." Take things that worked well from it, leave the rest.
Christian Williams
So, what's the deal with Snowtroopers and other environmental Stormtrooper variants? They appear to be their own distinct classes away from "standard" Stormtroopers, but why? They way thay're described, it seems like a Snowtrooper is generally always a Snowtrooper, and is exclusively stationed on icy worlds, or Swamptroopers are only on swampy worlds. It seems a little silly.
Or is the wording on their existence a little weird, and that they're just Stormtroopers with specialized training that are often "standard" Stormtroopers, but sometimes are equipped and sent on missions to locations with distinct biomes? Which seems to make more sense.
Benjamin Morgan
>Or is the wording on their existence a little weird, and that they're just Stormtroopers with specialized training that are often "standard" Stormtroopers, but sometimes are equipped and sent on missions to locations with distinct biomes? Which seems to make more sense.
I prefer this in my own headcanon but for the life of me I'm not sure what current canon on this is.
Jace King
>tfw training to be a stormtrooper >figured I'd see the galaxy and stuff, be a hero for the empire and the ladies and all that >accidentally place too highly in snow biome operations training >get reassigned to advanced snowtrooper training >tfw realize I will always be on snow worlds until some rebel faggot on a tauntaun guns me down fuck me
Wyatt Baker
D10s are insane in a vacuum, a heavy handed nerf bat is recommended here.
Iden Versio crew should most likely be specified to "another friendly" on both clauses, as currently she gives her buffs to her ride.
Is the Special Forces TIE/LN meant to only work on ye olde TIE fighters? Because the current text on it still allows it to be used on FO TIEs. Director Krennic mentions only working on Galactic Empire ships so you should change the wording to fit that.
Del Meeko is should have a small change to the text where you move the "may" to before "roll 1 attack die." just so RAW people wouldn't have to roll the die even if they would not want to use the ability.
Colton Hall
It seems to be the correct interpretation in both Legends and nucanon. Legends-wise, Battlefront 2's 501st Legion campaign sets the precedent for environmental troopers just being stormies in specialized gear. In nucanon, this also appears to be the case since the 501st Legion's canon page mentions them showing up on Hoth and in ANH.
Jason Morales
I think there would be specialized cold assault battalions, that train extensively in that terrain but just like most forces today receive some jungle/mountain/arctic/desert training as standard, most Stormtrooper units would be trained in the basics of every biome and maintain a small stock of specialized cold weather/lava proof gear in the cargo hold.
William Bailey
Imagine being the poor hydrophobic trooper that managed to score well enough to get reassigned to whatever they call deep sea troopers.
Hunter Cook
Could be worse. You could be at 29 Space Palms.
Gabriel Butler
Good point, I'll bump it up to 4 points.
I like this idea too.
Overall, are these good Pilots/Upgrades that make TIE's somewhat viable again? Or are they fucked beyond all belief?
Bentley Anderson
I mean, the Empire is vast. And many planets have prominent biomes or unusual conditions which their military force needs to be able to adapt to. But producing equipment which would be suited to literally every condition is either flat out impossible or too expensive to do for all soldiers.
That said, I don't think you hear about a "snowtrooper" garrison anywhere but the snow places. I'm pretty sure being a snowtrooper just means you're a Stormtrooper who has been through the training and given the equipment for cold work. Everybody probably gets like, Survival 101, but some troopers either are forced because they're recruited from a cold world or volunteer for additional cold-weather training.
Like, if you're a stormie recruit from Frigidooine, you're probably stuck as a Cold Weather specialist, whether you like it or not.
Julian Phillips
Seatrooper or Aquatic Assault Stormtrooper
they get AT-AT submarines, TIE boats and underwater bases though
Alexander Perez
They also get spearguns like they're fucking Johnny Quest mooks.
Lincoln Robinson
>TIE boats You're fucking kidding.
Grayson Gutierrez
I miss Evotroopers
Nicholas Price
Could you explain the reference? A cursory google search has given me nothing but tourism ads.
Owen Carter
Who drew that Striker art?
I painted all 3 of my Strikers to match, and I'd like to print Alt art cards with that art, but I should probably ask for permission.
Connor Long
No, Raith Sienar is such a madman, he made an amphibious TIE fighter.
Liam Adams
29 Palms' US Marine Corps doesn't seem to be the most pleasant place to live if anecdotes from Terminal Lance and other military personnel are any indication. Quoting Terminal Lance: >Being stationed in Hawaii, I could never help myself from feeling sorry for those poor souls serving their sentence contract in the badlands of Southern California. The mojave desert isn’t a pleasant place, which should be obvious considering it contains such foreboding areas as “Death Valley” and “Range 400.” Twentynine Palms is arguably the shittiest place to call home in the Marine Corps, though honestly Marines will bitch about just about anywhere.
>Really though, if you find that your permanent duty station is located in this hot locale, you probably have a right to bitch. Not only is it as hot as the United States gets, it’s isolated as fuck. By “as fuck,” I mean it’s at least 2-3 hours from anywhere worth going. If you’re a boot and don’t have a car, Taco Bell and ‘The Zone” will likely be your only solace. There is the noteworthy mention of it being the closest base to Las Vegas however, which may provide some respite from the monotony with its plethora of hookers and air conditioning.
>No matter how you look at it though, Twentynine Palms just plain sucks. The negatives far outweigh anything positive about it; and unless you’re a boot lieutenant you probably don’t get a hard-on every time someone mentions the spacious training areas or multiple ranges for all sorts of explosive weaponry. For the average grunt, the mention of these ranges isn’t something we look forward to–no one actually enjoys running around in 100 lbs of gear in 110 degree weather–despite popular belief amongst officers. Having spent two full Mojave Viper’s (back in my day we called it CAX) at this shithole of a space in the desert, I can safely say there’s few places I’d consider it worse to be.
>These aquatic assault craft had the classic TIE cockpit, although it was elongated and was based on the TIE/sa bomber. It was piloted by two crewmembers (one pilot and one gunner), often seatroopers. >The lower half of the solar panels were "bent" to form runners for the craft as it skimmed the water's surface. The upper half of the solar panels had been removed for improved visibility
no picture though, but the AT-AT swimmer has a picture.
AFAIK 29 palms is in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and is a terrible, very boring deployment. IIRC it's also in the desert
Chase Turner
When will this madman be stopped?
Elijah Brown
>the virgin TIE Boat vs. the chad AQ-5 Waveskimmer
Only one of these vehicles is canon.
Robert Allen
Del Meeko is garbage- He should be less random, and cost a point less.
Hask is a point overpriced.
Iden is Both too high of a PS (Player Characters are traditionally PS 7) and her ability is WILDLY overpowered.
The upgrades are all over the place, balance-wise, and some are worded wrong.
No idea, sorry. Got it off one of these threads a few months back. Probably. Honestly I've got so many pics of SW ships now I don't remember.
Hunter Perry
These were in Rogue Squadron, no?
Christian Johnson
Thanks, I will reach out to him. Pure Sabacc makes the most sense to make an alt-art for, right?
Eli Kelly
>Del Meeko is garbage. He's an engineer, so I wanted his ability to reflect that. >Iden is overpriced If Howlrunner is PS8 I think Iden could be. The idea is to give TIE Fighters so better Pilots and abilities so they can compete in the current meta. I'll concede on her ability, I think I'll change it to specifcially ships in Range 1. >upgrade as shit, etc. You're going to have to give me a little more constructive criticism on this.
Luke Morris
Yep they were, but I first saw them when reading "Leia and the Great Island Escape" for a rpg game based on Sesid.
Nathaniel Brooks
a little tall for a Stormtrooper
David Gomez
>If Howlrunner is PS8 I think Iden could be Howlrunner wasn't a player character and I'm pretty sure Iden's piloting record won't even come close to the stuff Farlander, Stele, and Azzameen did in the flight sims.
Thomas Murphy
Hmm. A fair point. I keep forgetting about activation being a thing despite being a core mechanic.
Kevin James
Compare Meeko's ability to Chewbacca, and his point cost to Dark Curse, as well as his 3 HP.
For Iden, the things keeping TIES out of the meta is - Bombs - Turrets that never engage - Red dice creep 1-shotting TIEs.
Iden just makes tgem hit harder, and adding a hit is brutal. Make it in her arc instead if you want to encourage traditional game mechanics, range 1-3 if you want it to be powercreep. Make the bonus damage from other primary weapons and in-arc only to avoid combos.
On the upgrades I have no phonevbattery left, will reply soon.
