Have you ever been betrayed by one of your companions, even if it was for your own good?

I asked last thread but never got an answer. Did the Horizon jump get dropped or is it still being worked on?

Oh, I won’t deny that Zeus pulls a number of dick moves (though Metis is apparently fine being stuck in Zeus’s head...for some reason that’s beyond me), but generally speaking, after Prometheus was imprisoned and the ills of mortality unleashed, both Zeus and the gods become much more benevolent towards humanity (as a whole). They also have functioning self-preservation instincts and aren’t hampered by nonsensical edicts like the PJatO Olympians.

They’re certainly not the ideal set of god’s...but at least they’d get off their asses to beat down the world-killing monsters the seem to pop up ever 3-5 years or so.

...also, the original Gaea doesn’t want to kill humanity off. Pretty big improvement in my mind, and Helios is a total bro, without Apollo’s touchiness about his musical talents.

More the fact that due to the nature of the Sea of Chaos, the universe only exists as long as the metaphysical Status Quo is preserved.

Which means that if Kronos had won, you pretty much have a guaranteed ‘rock falls everyone dies’ scenario, given Olympus is depicted as a metaphysically Order-aligned force, and its fall while all the important Egyptian gods are either sealed, senile, or functionally dead would probably shatter Ma’at without Apep/Apophis even needing to break out.

Same with Gaea’s awakening and the subsequent extinction event, etc.

Essentially, the more pantheons you add the more potential order-breaking factors exist, which works towards the perception that the universe is essentially held together with duct tape. Which also makes Kronos look like a complete idiot, but nothing new there.

I like to think of that as happening fairly early in his reign, and that Zeus matured over time. Notable evidence being Metis being his first wife, while by the time around the Trojan War he’s gained the self-control to not sleep with Thetis even though he blatantly listed after her.

Nooot as much as you might think. There’s a stone formation in place already for one of the unused colossus, so a number of them wouldn’t need ‘new’ space.

So, maybe about twice as big for three times the colossi. Maybe 2.5.

Not counting the C of C drawback, in which case, yes, forbidden continent

What happened to the alt-chain update? It's not in supplements or upload

Yes. My wife left my independent hero group to join the Empire 88 8n Worm.

Not because she was racist or anything. She just wanted an excuse for use to spend the better part of a decade fighting. I was okay with it, since happy waifu means happy laifu

>Joins a gang in Worm
>For the purpose of fighting.
Could do that better by doing literally anything else.

Well, yeah. But she had the side goal of seducing Rune over to the Light side.

Look, I never said it was a GOOD idea

>Joining a gang for an excuse to fight.
>In Worm

You don’t need to join a gang for that. Beating the shit out of people in spandex is a socially acceptable practice on Earth Bet.

What’s the resi/d/ent evil virus build?

Heh..
One jumper, through no fault of his own, ended up with Dan of Dan Vs.as a companion. The chain was practically fueled by betrayal and dick moves until Dan took the go home option because he simply refused to entertain the notion of a Christian Bale Batman in The Dark Knight Trilogy.

(link because the file for the entire comic is too large) wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/comicsalliance.com/files/2012/03/myherobymattrhodes-d4sr1ot-2.jpg

Ever had a great adventure before the Jump even started?

Does it count if they were brainwashed into doing so? Because both NiGHTS and Bass have been hijacked by the Light of Destruction during the chain and made to fight our party. Frisk brought NiGHTS back with the power of love, but we had to beat the brainwashing out of Bass because he was too stubborn to actually use (and thus acknowledge) the bonds he made with all of us, despite our best efforts.

Technically every jumper who goes into the Exalted Solars jump has to have something like that in their backstory in order to have exalted in the first place.

Those of you who took the Arrow from JoJo or have some other means, what kind of 「Stands」 have your companions ended up with?

Oops, didn't mean for that to be a reply.

I've used that "background was already a badass adventurer" gambit a few times in writing for Jumps. The most recent was in Jump 15 of Dual!Chain, Divinity: Original Sin. It was rather fun to write and ended up taking up a full third of my write-up for that world. I'd post it, but it's something like 15 posts just on the backstory I wrote up.

It's a fun writing gimmick to use and can be a really entertaining way to break up a Chain that's feeling a little stale.

I noticed that somehow, my thread and this one were posted at about the same time - so I removed the thread I posted there, given that this is more active.

>Chain gimmick where you have to justify through the current Jump's backstory every single ability and power you have, otherwise you can't use them.

The most interesting teenager in the world.

Someone Exalts, as a celestial Exalt, when there is an Exaltation seeking a host and somebody who makes a choice that resonates with it and is in an appropriately heroic situation - To be more (Solar), to defend (Lunar), for a purpose (Sidereal).
Abyssals and Infernals are Solars, but their requirements are slightly different - The Abyssal does as above, but the Exaltation only reacts if you're dying as a result of the choice. Infernals are withheld unless you're in the situation and you decide "I don't have the power to deal with this, I'm out" instead of stepping up.

Ye-es, I know, user. I don't really see what point you're trying to make here? Or how relevant whatever point you are trying to make is to the point I was making? Are you just info-dumping unprompted?

contd
>Are you just info-dumping unprompted?
Just to be clear, I'm not criticising or saying that's a bad thing. I'm just confused at why you'd see the need.

I wonder if the Gunnerkrigg Court Jump will ever get an update.

I was using that to point out that it didn't need to be a grand adventure, just a moment of heroics (or cowardly running away from same, you filthy Infernal.)

Are there any perks that let you use the power you get from your super forms passively? Like, having them on constantly, sort of thing.

...

There's a perk in Asterix to keep a temporary power on constantly, not sure if that counts.

YOU GOT FUCKING RYU'D BY A WORM SETTING WHEN THERE'S BETTER PLACES TO FIND ANSWERS IN THE HEART OF BATTLE

This is the actual worst thing I've read

I see. That's a fair point.

There's a perk for training to do that in Petals of Reincarnation, IIRC

Eh, if we're being that specific, then I'd also like to butt in and point out that Abyssals don't actually need a heroic moment at all. They just need to die/be dying, and either be a proper candidate for a free Exaltation or just selected by a deathlord for whatever (likely to be insane, see: Shoat of the Mire) reason.

And Infernals need a great 'failure', but it need not necessarily be them running away from a situation. It can be, sure. But all it really needs to be is a Solar heroic moment... in which they don't get a Solar Exaltation. Like, look at Sulumor. She was rejected as a priestess of her tribe's air spirits, and then left to die horrifically, because she argued in her own defense. If things were different, she might've exalted as a Solar while present her arguments to the spirits.

Oh, and also: You might want to check out the perk Xtasy in Onechanbara. It lets you give your transformations a second level of transformation.
'Cu we heard you liked super modes, so we put a super mode in your super mode so you can transform while you transform.

Is there a perk or item that can be used to make evil things good directly? I want to convert Nazerick to be good-aligned.

There kind of is, but it's a QQ jump. Generic Hentai Fantasy. It's one of the capstones.
If I remember correctly you'll also need a source of 'good' energy to infuse into them.

Oh I hope not.
I'd have to read more of it if the jump was updated.

Grab a Helmet of Opposite Alignment from D&D? Or the ying-yang things from Xiaolin Showdown?

And really, fuck spirits in general. On average spiting the corrupt mockery of a Celestial Order makes you a true hero rather than one of Luna's favorite lapdogs, or someone predetermined to do the Maidens' paperwork. Or worst of all, another golden fool whose egomania shamed their patron so hard he stopped even pretending to be a hero.

Jumping off the Helmet of Opposite Alignment idea, grab it and then head to either Elder Scrolls Jump. Grab the Spellcrafting Altar and feed it the Helmet's enchantment. Then all you have to do is spend some time and effort to make it into a castable spell. It might cost a huge chunk of mana, but it would work.

I think there's a machine in Soul Eater that lets you manipulate someone's morality in any way you please.

Well, what qualifies as "heroic" depends on both the person and the specific Exaltation (Caste and type) - A Twilight Caste could be seeking out incredibly difficult knowledge, while one of Journeys might need to get a message somewhere with no time to spare.
Without the intervention of a Deathlord, the Abyssal Exaltations act like Solar Exaltations - But they don't react until the moment of death, because saving the living violates their purpose. Infernal Exaltations are likewise still Solar in purpose, but with the caveat of failure - which can include being smart enough to not heroically die in a stupid way.

I remember there being a perk where you could teach anyone anything you knew so long as they were actually physically capable of it (for example, you could teach a human how to be a blacksmith, but not how to breathe fire), but I can't remember where it is from. Anyone know what jump that's from?

Assuming you don't just get the bog-standard Atonement spells from that. Because cursed/enchanted items (and traps, there's a corridor of opposite alignment in Tomb of Horrors too) tend to work a bit differently from the spells they're based on.

Luna is Best Girl.

And Husbando

Well, true. But it would still be a decent point to jump a new effect off of. Or you could just make a new spell while you're in D&D. But I hate suggesting that all the time instead of trying to suggest a bit of a combo.

Check out Final Fantasy 8. It has something along those lines in the Instructor's tree.

Tell me Jumpers, what makes you angry?

Pic related

Are you thinking of Camaraderie from Hero BBS? That's the first one that comes to mind.

Trainer From Hell in the G. I. Joe jump.
It's pretty crazy.

There really isn't anything that can get me agitated any more.
Concerned or curious are the most intense emotions jumper can hope for.

>Pic related

I vaguely remember that being in a starcraft jump?

What are some jumps where I can pick up a cute snekboi altform?

So question for Valeria and Heavens (though more for Valeria due to Heavens giving a firm numerical answer on the perk).

What kind of schenanigans can you get up to with EX-Rank Grand Mana and Magic Gunner (which makes 1 unit of prana 100 times more efficient)

movies and porn glorifying unfaithfullness

EX-Rank Grand Mana can scrape the surface of the Earth clean. So Magic Gunner should let you scrape one hundred times deeper.

For the last time!

All these help, thanks anons.

Stories, distorted reflections of another's imagination, make your jumper mad?
I bet there's a fun story behind this.

G-Gundam too actually.

Speaking of Grand stats, how FAST would you be with EX rank Grand Agility?

...

>Triggered Mode
Fuck off, Samus always did have a personality just not one given voice in the games but she is given solid characterization through consistent actions, her texted sections in Fusion and her entire manga set.

>Triggered Mode over back to casually and happily writefagging

Alright nerds

all that's needed left is to make genre packages and clean up the genre fiction's descriptions, but I figured I should show this anyways just cause I got things to do today and I'd rather get it out before I start on them.

Exalted Lunars, Exalted Mortals, Stellaris, Ultimate Spider-Man if you go snake hybrid, Greek Myth and such if you go Monster, I forget if D&D has them but probably, and also probably DCEU...

Oh and what seperates Fusion from Other M is that Samus was not given stupid orders. She was given intelligent orders meant to lead her to deal with credible threats while only being provided support when needed to keep a leash on her. It was the Federation with the advantage in negotiating power not Samus with the advantage but willingly giving it up.

>G-Gundam
I'm not seeing that in the Gundam section. Is it under a different name?

Looking awesome Digger, thanks.

Future century, boy.

They're named after timeline/era

Since UC would be "Gundam 0079/Unicorn/etc etc"

All of the FAST. Even normal EX Agility clocks in at something like Mach 21, and Grands jump up in magnitude above normal stats.

Oh, okay, thanks Digger.

Also thank you, Gaunlet.

What's your Jumper's "high concept"?

>"high concept"
what do you mean?

I don't even know what that means.

Unless it is 10000x greater than is still not even 2% the speed of light

...their chain names are called "The Invincible Hero" and "The Phantom Thief"

So...guess?

"A fresh, unique, and compelling story premise that can be easily summed up in a single sentence or two."

It's basically your elevator pitch.

The basic archetype, if you will. Usually summed up by [Adjective] [Noun], or by a very short description.

He's a vehicle for moving the plot forward, from other characters' perspectives.

In that case, "The Final Hero"

Wandering Scientist, I suppose

Villainous jump when?

My current chain is called the Madness Chain for a reason.

Benevolent Eldritch Teacher, maybe.
Still in the process of actually gitting gud.

The scenario seems to be about the Holopsicon, does that mean if we copy it using power-copying perks, or steal it with other abilities, or even create an OC with her powers like they do in the canon and companion it, we would trigger the scenario?

Stupidly soft fuzzball thwarts evildoers

Divine Craftsman.
or
"Maybe you should have thought things through before making that."

The Champion of What Isn't

Masked Hero and his rag tag group of friends (plus one tsundere robot who refuses to admit he's their friend) chasing a narcissistic cosmic horror that seeks to dominate everything.

That's great, how long have they been after you?

So what makes Altair so bullshit is that she has The People's Champion limited to written works, but it has literally no popularity requirement?

Cruel sadistic destructive monster, taking her frustration out on the multiverse, but no matter how much she destroys it never makes her feel any less empty inside...

Altair was really popular. He had lots of fanfics and fanarts.

What are some jumps that can make you extra fluffy? I remember Dog Days, Zootopia, and Spice & Wolf off the top of my head, but there are bound to be more.

It's like Rick & Morty meets Space Dandy, but the protagonist is a cute girl who vacillates between their extremes.

Also she's really into roleplay.

A hero who believes in a universe that doesn't care, but people that do.

"Lone wandering mercenary unwillingly travels between worlds and inadvertently becomes the strongest hero."

Other way around, I'm the one doing the chasing though I DID have a chain where I was a super villain who had to deal with cosmic cops once.

Quick! There's no time to explain! I need the absolute craziest, most demented and obsessive women in the multiverse! Pic related is the only one I've got so far.
