/mgw/ - Monster Girl Worldbuilding and or Veeky Forums Monster Girl thread

Previous Well I'm shocked to come back that previos thread was already archived but no new thread. Anywho here's the new one and as usual.

We talk about Monstergirls and build a setting for them. Though we can all post pics and images and art of Monster Girl Encyclopedia monster girls and take about them. But bear in mind this is not KCs MGE canon to the letter. Seriously lads a lot of people have their ideas and they aren't all the same, we can all agree to disagree. Just remember to have fun.

last subject from previous thread was elementalist cults I believe

kickstarter.com/projects/josephleebush/heroines-of-the-first-age

Anyone tried this? Is it good?

How do you undead-proof your burial grounds or corpse disposal practices, anyway? Is it possible to ghost-proof them?

>Is it possible to ghost-proof them?
let women lead happy and fullfilling lives?
with no regrets holding them here there wouldn't be an reason for them to come back
unless you're dealing with either a Ghoul infestation or a Necromancer

>no regrets
That's not exactly possible. Everyone screws up and regrets it at least once, and that's all it takes.

Is someone working on a map?
If not, can someone remind me of the different regions so far and their positions? I lost a lot of threads.

I believe the ideas of these threads should have been saved in some form, I saw a lot of gems some weeks ago, like that whole angel lore and stuff.

Monsternot necessary just girl Tenra Bansho hack is progressing. Still in disorganized shambles, but mechanical basics are being worked out fine.

Highlights (for people who don't know what tenra bansho is - it's a really neat system.):
>TBZ already has corruption mechanics (tied to advancement AND bennies), so all y'all corruptionfags can knock yourself out. Corruption is not just AND THEN THEY FUGGED though - any sufficiently strong desire can fuck up your priorities (and turn you into NPC if you indulge too much). Keeping balance between becoming more powerful and not becoming an obsessed dickwad is important.

>TBZ also provide template-mixing system, so you can easily create your obscure mythological waifu or husbando by mixing a correct amount of wings, horns, tails and all that other stuff

>Thanks to template cost being the same as corruption (yes, stronger/more inhuman monsters are closer to being driven completely fucking loco) you have a nice balance of power where some monsters have stronger baseline and weird-ass abilities (and yes, weird ass abilities too!), while humans and weaker monsters can just drown the opposition in fate points.

I'll visit this thread later, and if you guys are interested, i'm gonna post bits about muh original donutsteel setting.

>The Order mainland is split into a northern Slavic/gothic styled region, where the demon Lord has her base, and a southern classical/Southern European styled region, where the Order has its capital.
>The sea of Knights seperate the two halves, and is the dark edge sea with chaos cultists, ghost ships, goth mermaids
>The southern sea seperates the Order mainland from the desert continent, the land of exotic pelts filled with Brown monstergirls lies on the western coastline
>The southern sea includes two rival merchant state factions, an order aligned ship city, a pirate republic based out of a shipwreck island, a temple on the edge of the deep layer of chaos cultists sea witches, and a series of tropical islands.
>In the southern sea is also Miscaea a monster state trying to rebuild a fallen empire, rivaled by an order aligned Amazon city that wields influence over neighboring city-states.
>The Great North is a subcontinent if Scandinavian/Northern European styled states, with Viking monstergirls.
>Desert Continent has arabian nights city-states, nomadic sand elves, Pharaonic ruins whose inhabitants are trying to rebuild fallen empire and Apophis ruled areas.

and last thread there was talk of either a pocket area forgotten by time like Savage Land or an entirely new continent (or island) ruled by Dragons worshipped by reptiles species, that may include hardy cavemen and stronk amazons

You are doing gods work user. I’m surprised we let the thread die without doing a new one.
Lots of holy wards. Aka the no fun option.
I have a shitty map but its from before I came up with the sea of Knights.

Also looks like I forgot to mention the island of dragon riding knights in that initial recap.

Creation is the norm.

>That's not exactly possible. Everyone screws up and regrets it at least once, and that's all it takes.
pic related

but to answer your question, it really depends
prevent major outbreaks? burn your dead
vampires or other flavor of sapient undead and you're on the upper class? chain the coffins
ghost? call an exorsist

>Also looks like I forgot to mention the island of dragon riding knights in that initial recap.
oh yeah, forgot about that one, does it have to be an island though?
what if it's on a mountain range placed between the north and the south?
that way you can explain why sea trade is absolutely necessary

I’d imagine undead pandemics are not new in the setting. So likely graveyards have various wards and the deceased go through various rituals to prevent the dead rising in most cases outside of corruption overload.

Your post confuses me.

I put it on an island so it’s practically uninvadable, an island state with high sea-cliffs with only a handful of well guarded ports with the worlds greatest air force.

Also my personal joke about the welsh as it’s where is put in Celtic cultures.

Also as a halfway point between the two halves of the continent, and the Great North.

Thank you!

I think I remember that, Dragons were very rare and most of them were paired with the subspecies, right? Can't have Dragons being too common.

>I have a shitty map but its from before I came up with the sea of Knights.
Post it!

Imma about to go to bed. I’ll see if I can get to it tomorrow after classes.

We were in disagreement on the issue I believe and didn’t get to how and whys-

I for one see no problem with dragons being common, and think it should work that there is a core of high-dragons being ridden, but there is a greater majority of subspecies being ridden.

...

huh, that works too, hadn't thought about it

Go ahead and post your setting pal. Anything like that's welcome here.

Why do we want to ghost-proof our burial grounds? I like undead monstergirls

This monster girl angers people such as the adeptus mechanicus and the brotherhood of steel. Because said monster girl can hack and reverse engineer tech.

>mgewiki.com/w/Gremlin

>Look, I buried me wife an age ago.
>I've come to terms with it. Me kids have comes to term with it. Me kids kids have come to term with it.
>The last thing I need is my wife to jump out of her grave and try to jump on my dick.

You'd start to run out of room for living people.

this is now canon

I think it'd be a good idea to keep them on consecrated ground where they can be blessed continuously by live in priests. That would also cut back on the number of undead making mushrooms or any other weirdness that could make the dead walk.

Maybe special gravekeepers specialized in keeping the undead in their graves dispatched to really old or new boneyards whose protection has been worn down or not fullly formed yet.

>Posting outright porn

how is that porn?
I've seen racier pics in orc and amazon threads
not to mention chainmail bikini threads

That manga is fantastic.

Dude, we get it. You post this shit every thread and we've already talked about it. Drop it.

>how is that porn?
Nipples an shit, I guess

>chatting with mermaid gf in the tub

There is a thread going on now with a naked orc as the OP picture. That pic is tame.

I recognise that writing style, and that background with that font, and so do you. We should all be ashamed.
Remove this, blanketgirls are for cuddling and comfy times and making you feel better when you're feeling blue, not for lewding!

Posted the wrong version. Here's the clean one. Gonna delete that lewd one from my pc actually.

>Fucked in the butt by my own bed

Well sheetgirks exist, so the rest of the bed being girls isn’t that far fetched.

Almost forgot about that madman

That a real thing?

>A stunning amount of effort is put forth by guardian angels to stay current and with the times. Most would tell you it’s to better protect their cover and be better guardians but in truth it’s because these angels are completely entangled and enthralled by short mortal lives. A staggering number of trashy teen romance novels are brought and consumed by guardian angels and they can sometimes be heard sighing among themselves about “best girl never winning” when recouping spirit energy.

>While the Chief God’s church does not officially recognize any rivalry between the messenger angels and harpy postal service, the way these angels frown at the sight of the industrious birdwomen causes some to wonder. Perhaps, being the original couriers, messenger angels feel somewhat superior to these fledglings who might forget addresses or misplace packages when distracted by shiny objects. When they’re sure no one is looking, a helpful angel might peel away to give a few pointers to their “juniors”.

>Often recruited from guardian angels, valkyries are themselves trained by a particular subset of archangels that are either recuperating their energy or have suffered an injury that would take time for even a celestial being to heal. Tactics, techniques, and motivational phrases are practically engraved on their halos but there is some difficulty adapting moves for those without wings or inborn divine power.

Yes.

Well, pound me.

Post more user. Dat sounds nice, interesting and even cute.

>Grigori posting.

What you mean by that?

Now that's an autistic self insert if I ever saw one

Here's my shitty map I promised earlier.

Ah, I think I remember this. Good to see you're still here, user.

...

I never left ahahaha...

Anyway, Zipangu should be considered out of proportion, and as I said the Sea of Knights is missing. I'd probably double the size of the plains in the middle, and stick it there.

Some guy who wrote really stupid fanfics where "The Human Liberation Front" fights against the bad evil monsters. When he got told to knock this off, he tweeted a guro picture to KC. He still tries to get art for his fanfiction.
libermgespeech.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Father_Grigori/KC_Rant

So what you're saying, he's /ourguy/?

monstergirlencyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:358524

No, he's closer to chrischan autistic and once created a fake account claiming to be his wife.

>he's closer to chrischan autistic
So, /ourguy/?
>and once created a fake account claiming to be his wife.
So, /ourguy/?

Moreso than KC, at least.

>there are many old nations now lost to Heaven’s light in Demon Realms and the principalities mourn each and every one, not just due to the devotion and effort they’ve put in to make those places thrive. Ancient covenants made between those nations and the eldest Principalities had led to them offering up their halos to the leaders of those primeval kingdoms as symbols of authority. These circlets being bathed in corruption has forced their former owners to seal themselves away in stone rather than fall, leading to many angel statues in the strangest places that no one can recall making on earth. The archangels that once served beneath them are always waiting for the arrival of these lost monarchs, intent on reclaiming those circlets of corroded heavenly gold.

>While the Powers always seem tired and haggard, a certain group of them are especially odd. Powers who guard Wonderland provoke many looks of pity from their fellows as they can’t help but seem jumpy and irritable even when compared to their peers. For some strange reason, they are very guarded against anything remotely feline. Bringing up the fact that they’ve developed heart-shaped pupils and seem to change height and age on every return is a sure way to start a fierce shouting match.

>Oracles and prophets who can correctly interpret even the smallest signs sent by the Virtues are greatly prized by the Heavenly Choir. Getting the message across without sending an angel to do it leads to much rejoicing and happy singing until they are reigned in by the Thrones. Alternatively, an oracle or prophet of such skill will usually unknowingly enjoy a staggering amount of protection, bolts of divine lightning and errant pillars of light striking lurking demons unerringly.

So angel discussion?

I’ve been musing how badass a dragon-angel-girl would be and how to wing it.

He sounds like a faggot, but so is KC for getting upset by that. It seems sad that he always writes in his stuff "corruption and rape is love and trumps all" and get triggered by someone trying to use the theme in a creative way.
Some years ago I just forgot about MGE and got my interest back because of these threads, all because it left the "flavor choosing" formula to get fucked. Most of the monstergirls are basically the same.

Try reading Grigori's stories and you'll understand completely why everyone wanted him to fuck off.

I don't want to be associated with him, he also gets mad at the creator of Paper's please because he thinks the creator stole his idea of Arstotzka. He's also a wannabe North Korean judging by the art he commissions..

I just assume Japanese internet isn’t as infested with the same kinds of trolls as American internet.

Nice pic.

KC may be a sheltered faggot who doesn't like anyone ever viewing monsters as anything but the most pure and good thing out there, but holy hell this is some autism beyond what would be expected. Its just pointless edginess. I've never seen anyone brag about a kill count unless it was in a parody universe like 40k where being edgy is the joke. There's "Monsters are a threat to humanity and can't be seen as innocent beings so we have to fight them off" and then there's "Ayy Hitler hold my beer I'm gonna make that holocaust look like a joke".

Well we agreed that if angels can fall, it only makes sense that monsters can rise. Maybe certain monsters can be noted for their purity and strength of character and can be rewarded angelic power.

I'm picturing a dragon girl with a magical girl style angel transformation or Kamen Rider install or something.

I was thinking more- if we had to pick the basis of a holy warrior, why not pick a dragon?

So the Draconic form would have a halo, angel wings, gold and silver armor, etc.

Also I’ve been wondering about a race descended from the unions of angels and demons, with nephiliim being a decent name.

>I've never seen anyone brag about a kill count unless it was in a parody universe like 40k where being edgy is the joke.
I've seen it for less parodical fighting types, particularly snipers and assassins but sometimes just soldiers, generally to highlight the callousness or hardening of the characters using a kill counter as a dick measuring contest.

There's also Legolas v. Gimli at the defense of Helm's Deep, which is played as a lighter element in book and movie alike (if not truly "humorous" in the book)

... I'm not saying what you're responding to isn't the level of hyper autistic you indicate, I just wanted to respond to that particular complaint. I'll show myself out now.

Also on the topic of angels- what if there were more Holy Girls? I’ve mentioned it before, but there is that one comic of an anthropomorphic holy grail. What if a Holy Grail has the ability to born off corruption with say breast milk?

The thing is, an inanimate object becoming a Monster is inherently a corruption thing - even if you're of the train of thought that Monsters have been around since time immemorial, inanimate objects like swords and the like bonding to people and turning them into Monsters or becoming Monsters themselves isn't something that would be naturally occurring it feels like, and a holy artefact like that would be either insusceptible to it's effects or very definitely not holy after it's been done with, at which point it's just a chalice Monster which is... I mean it worked for Cuphead, I s'pose.

I feel the same way when people spam KC swill on Veeky Forums

I sometimes wonder how many people outside this thread see this as being nothing but a KC-specific circlejerk.
I also hear tales of a /jp/ Monster thread which apparently is far more opposed to Paladin posting or any implication Monsters are anything less than perfect as heresy, but you know what they say about hearsay and rumors. I wonder what they think about this thread too, though.

Alright, that’s a good topic of debate then- how to non corrupt holy monstergirls would work.

Maybe they just start off as becoming hot chicks with extra hormones, but no desire to rape or corrupt. But with further corruption they could be flipped to be more satanist themed.
Personally as a corruptionfag I want there to be conflict in the setting, and just because brainwashing, incest, and moral degeneration are my fetishes, I don’t expect others not be bothered by them.

It's not like we have a complete pantheon so I'd imagine there would be more heavenly servants for gods past the Chief.

Agreed, there is a pantheon or lower gods who could have their own angelic or holy servants.

Holy weapons may be under the God of Wars jurisdiction.

I personally prefer just a "heaven". It can serve one god, multiple gods, aspects of various gods, or even no gods. You can cut it any way you like - it's referred to as "heaven" and has it's divine graces.
Building pantheons feels like taking steps towards origins and the such, and that has historically ended poorly.

I think we can make it work. Let’s discuss various systems and their merits.

Generic Heaven- I feel to vague, something I’d prefer be explored and filled out.
Monothiesm- I also feel is a bit boring- all the Gods vault would be on the one god.
Chief God + Pantheon- I think the most fun system, you have the Christian/Catholic aesthetics, but some fun cults like for the god of war or god of love, allowing for a lot of variety.

Chief God+Pantheon+Cults sounds good but I don't think we have anything solidified for that past the Fallen God for now. We can wait to see how the night crew takes that.

Well MGE has a number of Gods, though some have been exiled from the pantheon.

Having a god of love and a god of war seem like good starts- god of crafts and god of harvests also seem good.

>how many people outside this thread see this as being nothing but a KC-specific circlejerk
... how is it not?

... Is this bait or are you genuinely asking, because if the latter I'll be happy to direct you to several major departures even if the 3 guys in this thread are down with KC canon right now.

As long as we have a sea god and minor gods working in a celestial bureaucracy in the Mist Continent, I'm satisfied.

I like the idea of other cultures worshipping the same gods in different contexts. Like the split between Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.

>Major departures
>Still about the demon lords being a succubus who turned every monster into a monstergirl and use rape to convert more to their cause
So how is it not about KC again?

Not all Monsters being corrupt is a pretty major departure in and of itself, as is the majority of Monsters fighting aforementioned demons, having their own civilisations and histories, protecting that way of (usually) peaceful life from said demons, etc.
Hell, I don't even include the rape shit personally. And you don't have to either.

not to mention some other user proposed that women turning into monsters be limited to demon types and undead

That's a proposal though, rather than something generally accepted as a premise from which much of the thread's setting discussions happen, which I think is what user is asking after.
Like when people want to include Monsterboys and people say "Well there can be but it activates a lot of almonds, so don't mention it if there are to you". Myself being an example of both those types of people. . I wouldn't say there are Monsterboys because that's not generally accepted unlike, say, the Red Order or the fact co-existence is a thing and is endorsed by both Monsters and humans.

>Not all Monsters being corrupt is a pretty major departure in and of itself
Not when they all still act like the same cock hungry whores, only these ones are """good""" whores.
>as is the majority of Monsters fighting aforementioned demons
Is that the case? Everything is so nonspecific and vague I couldn't tell.
>having their own civilisations and histories
They've got that in MGE, it all just revolves around finding a cock to thirst for. Of which nothing has changed.

>They act like cock hungry whores
... They don't though? What about the harpy mailbird being a totally normal individual includes her being a cockhungry whore? Or the devout Lamia nurse who follows the same code of ethics human doctors do? Or the Ochimucha who was bought back to life and continues to fight demons with just as much determination as she did before? How about that Moth Coven that rejects all sex and passion openly? What about the people of Miscues who are all just... people?
>Everything is nonspecific and vague
Some things are, yeah. There's still a general "zeitgeist", for lack of a better term, of popular ideas though.
>They've got that in MGE, it all just revolves around finding a cock to thirst for.
Do they? Are they full of uncorrupt Monsters, who make the same kind of civilisational advancement humans do? Are they more advanced than humans in some respects, as is the case with the architectural industry here?
And again, if they were doing nothing but looking for cocks to chow down on they wouldn't build these civilisations, they wouldn't have the high aspiration of attempting to re-capture the romanticised view of a long dead civilisation that united all Monsters like Misceus has, for example. Any Monster can have ideals that go beyond themselves or those immediately around them, and such a thing can't happen if you've got a single-minded focus on sex. Hell, you wouldn't be uncorrupt if you weren't.

To flip the script and ask a question to YOU, user:
Why are you not choosing to see the best in this setting if you dislike KC's canon, as many do?
What prevents you from separating the two for the little "islands of ideas" that people have, like the user with the mermaid cafe?
And, if you cannot do either of these things, why are you here? What DO you hope to get out of this thread?

>Do they?
Seeing as literally every greentext is about some cringey waifushit and them finding a human husband AND the fact that they literally need humans to reproduce, yeah, it's pretty cockthirst oriented

There was the user's dhampir story, that featured neither of those things.
You want me to say current state of affairs is pretty waifubait shit? You're right. Thread's got a lot of that, I ain't gonna deny it - I haven't even seen the "Chief God Protects" post in a while, I think I might be the last thing resembling a Paladin poster left. I remember the discussions about how to fight a war against Monsters, damn it, I remember contributing to the DMZ discussion - but the point is it isn't 100% that.
You still have stuff like and and the Sea of Knights and shit. The greentexts are a self selecting sample for that particular brand of autism.
Again, I can ignore that crap to try and eke out something I want; maybe you can, and if you can't, why are you here?

>I haven't even seen the "Chief God Protects" post in a while, I think I might be the last thing resembling a Paladin poster left

Ha! Unlike 40k threads, it always has more actual lore and worldbuilding and technical related discussions compared to this waifu cockthirst hit.

And no, I'm not saying this as a shitpost, its just a plain simple fact.

You're not wrong, man. Having a half dozen actual systems to discuss the mechanics of and a proper setting to argue the fluff and discuss the implications of beats out trying to eke together vague concepts based around a concept alone that naturally attracts that kind of waifu shit.
Even if 40k posting does have the Sororitas, Slaanesh, the Dark Elder for the particularly depraved, and all manner of vile xenos fornication to capture the imagination of heretics.

Have a Tau reaction. Unrelated to much of anything, I just haven't had a chance to use it yet.

...

What do you wish to discuss?

I’m a lore guy wanting to discuss the ecclesiastical hierarchy- what are some good gods for the Order?

War-
Love-
Harvest-
Crafts-
Family?
Secrets?

I dunno man, it's like 3 AM here and I'll be turning in soon.
I vaguely remember reading Journey to the West once and there being something about heaven being bureaucratic as all hell. Maybe do something with that, there's a bunch of heavenly red tape that's kept in check by dozens of angel secretaries because being divine doesn't mean you don't have paperwork or something,
Maybe there's a really mundane god of tax returns, I don't know, if it was up to me we wouldn't be having a pantheon at all.

Well I can imagine angelic beuracrats. The gods being upper management who expects way too much.

well, War and Love are already a thing
harvest and craft are good
would secrets imply its blessing to thieves, or is it just an "ecumenical matter"?

Ooh, I’m leaning to ecumenical nature- ie she’d be the god of knowledge and scholarly matters. Typically the one most trying to keep the world in medieval stasis, who had her job rather taxed at the rate of technological advancement.

so, this is some sort of dual nature for Gods?
because it sounds awfully similar to Hermaeus Mora
