What the admins are saying is that they started with a high volume because people like gambling with whole coins, as the concept of decimals becomes alien. Eventually when they're burned, and decimals are the primary form of deciding how much you're betting due to the lower volume, it won't matter.

The price will not be held at a dollar. FUN devs already said they don't want to keep it down at all and have no intention of manipulating the market. Even then, the devs wouldn't be able to manipulate it because the most they can do is burn, not print - and if they're burning, the price is going to skyrocket harder. They won't be able to 'keep' it at any price with anything short of fudding themselves on purpose, and that's not going to do anything for them given that they're about to showcase it and get people onboard.
