I just have an easier time solving problems that other people might struggle with for longer. It also doesn’t mean that I’m great at stuff. At the same time, I do get to live at what deals like slight intellectual leisure. The problem solving thing has real life implications. I get things quickly, and it wasn’t until my late twenties that I realized most other people have to make a little more effort to make the same realization.

Was always called smart when I was younger and considered the smartest kid in class. Tested high. Was a little bit of a tool about it when I was younger. But I picked up on other kids and how they learned, and in a lot of cases I feel like I was just able to focus more directly and tune out everything but the problem or question at hand and had the patience to maintain my full attention on the problem until it 'clicked'. There are definitely some things I seemed to pick up faster in general, but a lot of it was just the ability to focus more directly and block out distractions or stray thoughts. Not anything terribly special. Even in smart kid classes, I saw kids taking tests and not being fully focused. I wondered what if that's what they were like while taking their IQ test?
