making this thread here because biz has alot higher iq than mouthbreathing mongrels at fit

so i workout daily and am caffeine addicted. i started with 100mg and now im at 600mg daily. 600 feels exactly like 100mg overtime lol.

so my body needs more and more. if i quit this shit will i ever enjoy working out without caffeine? i feel like i can only enjoy music, working out and life in general with caffeine

is this the addiction talking or is working out really shit without stimulants

You can quit and then go back to it after withdrawal. Caffeine withdrawal is not that bad, you might get a headache. Then when you go back to it smaller amounts will have stronger effects on you again.

Quit coffee for a week or two. Choose a day off to start, because caffeine withdrawals will knock you the fuck out for a day. Your tolerance will return close to baseline.

drink a lot of water and pee a lot. that'll flush it out. don't be stupid and die from water intoxication though.

take vitamin c tablets and keep your electrolytes up.

caffeine tolerance builds up and decreases pretty fast. give it two weeks and you'll be back to square one. gonna be a shitty first few days though.

Went cold turkey for two weeks it was shit for the first week, headaches and grogginess everyday. But after that I feel so much better and having a coffee every now and then is much better than it used to be.

Veeky Forums here i regularly do /ec/ stacks and during i consume around 800mg a day. leads to the worst possible migraines imaginable, I tried cold turkey once and was trying to fall asleep, the pain got so bad i had to take a caffeine pill in order to fall asleep to make the withdrawal pain stop

As someone who regularly uses EC Stack twice a year to cut after bulks, I've figured out what works great for me when coming off the stimulants cold turkey.

Pick a 2-3 day stretch where you won't have obligations or much to do like a weekend off or something. Quit cold turkey. Sleep as much as you can, drink as much water as you can, and sleep more. I feel prime after 2 days, like I'm back at square one. Your body will still have a caffeine tolerance but you won't feel the withdrawal effects of being off caffeine or whatever mild stimulant.

user, you are going to work yourself to heart failure much sooner than is necessary if you continue this. Your body cannot handle that level of caffeine long or even moderate term.

Pre is 10x worse than just coffee, which is still horrible for your vascular health. Ween yourself back to 200 mgs a day at least. The effects will be the exact same. Diminishing returns beyond 200, and like I have said twice- even that is bad for your vascular system. If you're on gear, this is doubly true.

I've quit cold turkey multiple times from ~600mg daily. The headaches suck, but it's so hard to stay awake that it hardly matters. Like I said earlier, just make sure you have a day or two to waste being incapacitated before the worst withdrawals end, and that's if you're a pussy like me.

I've been drinking coffee since I was 13.
Through the years it fucked my stomach and was the cause of a lot of headaches I was having.
When I stopped (at 30yo), the withdrawals were very bad.
I had extreme headaches was constantly tired, but couldn't sleep and constipation.
I'm down to 2 cups a day now.
The fear of withdrawals prevents me from going back to 10+.

That's the problem with caffeine is your body gets used to its energy-providing effects but not its diuretic effects. Eventually you start leaching nutrients which are obviously extremely essential for athletic and body-building performance.

Bad news is 600mg is getting pretty high. Over double the recommended maximum.

Good news is that even though withdrawal effects are unpleasant, they don't last very long and it can be easy enough to even the body out back to responding to safer levels with little effort.

I have very similar experience. Lifting heavy every two days. Quit a bad caffeine addiction two years ago. It still doesn't feel good to work out with no caffeine, so I always have a little tea or pepsi before hitting the gym. A very low dose is enough today.
It took me half a year to feel normal after quitting caffeine by the way, so don't give up, eventually it gets better, it might take a long time. Music can help a lot with achieving that hyped feeling if you are into that kind of thing.

caffeine is good before/during workout if you are on a cutting routine/diet...so depends on what your motivations are

As far as caffeine, keep it low. Green tea has generally 20-50mg of caffeine with lower quality tea generally having a higher amount of caffeine.

I keep my caffeine tolerance low to the point that when I do consume any, 5-10 mg makes me productive and 20 mg makes me feel cracked out. Could also be genetics at play as 1-2 mg of Adderall gets me going when I have used it since stopping my high usage.

I'm not a fan of my current situation either. Need half a gram of caffeine on a normal day. On 'busy' days thats stacked with 200 mg modafinil.

My issue is I don't have time to cycle off cold turkey. Literally the only time I can sit around and do nothing will be when I finish my PhD in a couple years.

Should I just suck it up and slowly taper down my dosages?
