Caffeine preworkout addiction

im at 600mg daily preworkout now.

i started with 100mg and now 600mg feels just like 100mg

i take it just to feel normal and the buzz i get is just it stopping the depressive withdrawals.

will i ever feel joy working out without it?

will it ever be as euphoric?

i just took 2 weeks off work and will try cold turkey with nofap too. i hope the sexual agression i get from abstaining fapping and porn will be like a preworkout over time

i have no problem keeping alcohol, cigs, cocaine, valium, zolpidem, xtc in moderation and use only once few months but caffeine i been taking since starting to workout 5 years ago and its literally impossible so far. fuk me senpai

slowly wean yourself off it. take a break from the gym if you have to. transition down by 50 mg per day or 100 mg per 3 days.

DO NOT COLD TURKEY CAFFEINE you will literally get wrecked by headaches and it's relatively easy to slow down on.

if you can get down to 200-300 per day, that's good. try to only use it when you work out, and on days you don't, take half your normal dose or an energy drink or something.

also take l-theanine with your caffeine on your off days.

Two weeks off will work well to reduce caffeine tolerance, but it'll likely be painful at times.

I just keep to decaf coffee (2-12 mg) or green tea (20-50 mg). Keeps me from being all "WOO WOO WOOOOOOOO" when exercising or working and my tolerance is kept low.

I want a boost, not an addiction. Got too many of those already.

i did dmaa and pure speed sometimes but the crash, hunger supression, sleep quality loss are out of this world. cant keep up any gym performance this way

Amphetamines are great in the short term, but I used to abuse them and after 3 years, well, terrible times.

Or take a preworkout with DMAA. This is what was in the original jack3d and recently banned Mesomorph. There’s still several on the market like jacked up for instance. First time I took dmaa I didn’t think it was going to do much but it was game changing, I got tunnel vision, euphoria, music became amazing, and I got the best workout I’ve ever had.

Don’t do cardio on it though, gets your heart rate up quite a bit to the point of being dangerous if you’re pushing too hard.

I started off with Concerta and worked my way through Focalin, Focalin XR, Adderall, Adderall XR and Vyvanse.

I wasn't taking care of my body in terms of food or sleep and didn't have a consistent schedule, so I'd pop pills to keep going. I also wasn't aware of the proper dosing or some of the effects my doctors didn't know and/or tell me of. I learned a lot about stims on 420chan.

Thinking more, it was closer to five years at least. I was running of 30 minutes of sleep at times.

The best I did was one semester I was teaching a class at noon at my old high school Monday through Friday. This gave me 3-4 hours to study and then I'd go to class. Got a 3.5 GPA that semester.

Unfortunately, without a pre-set schedule I have to follow, I'd fall into crazy hours, especially with roommates that worked at night.

Took my teeth a year to stop grinding a bunch.

I dropped from 142 to 137 in weight.

Slowly easing back into trying stimulants, albeit in a much more self-regulated manner. They can be good, but are dangerous if taken in excess. One downside is that one can end up requiring them to be as functional as one before they started.

Add beta alanine to your pre workout and tone down the caffeine. Beta alanine has a much more intense feeling without getting dangerous as you increase the dosage to match your desensitisation.

Or spread your caffeine doses out. When I gym in the evening and I've had a few cups of coffee earlier I'll put less caffeine in my preworkout, but generally feel better and more alert.

Been there done that substitute out for black coffee for energy and malic acid for pumps. If you want the tingley feeling get some beta alanine. Slowly reduce amount of coffee to lower tolerance

I've had the same experience as you, took Adderall nearly daily at 60mg and got a lot done but quit because I hated the feeling that I was completely dependent and wondered what I would be like naturally. Also lost a ton of weight and didn't exercise/sleep/care about what I looked like. Stopped for a year and a half until I started grad school and am now taking 20 mg every other day (I never take it on consecutive days) and will never up my dose based on my prior experiences.

I'm glad to see (somewhat) that I'm not the only one in the boat. It made me a social whizbang as I kicked ass in terms of talking with people. Definitely smelled more due to stimulants being stimulants.

I might have to try that. Looking at keeping low amounts of caffeine and l-theanine.

Cut the caffeine slowly, and eventually get off it completely. Try getting a proper nights sleep and get yourself on a regular sleep schedule. Caffeine has the effect of putting your body into a low level fight-or-flight mode... doing this for long periods of time is not good for you. It also fucks with your sleep, it takes a long time to be completely out of your system (over 10 hours, can't remember the exact figure) so you can get a proper nights rest.

Why don't you try going for a run first thing in the morning without caffeine? When you get back home you'll be feeling good so you won't feel the need for caffeine as much and you should be able to control your intake better throughout the day
