Donuts are kind of becoming the new cupcake and I'm OK with it. These are from a donut shop in Wilmington NC

I want the fruity pebble one pls.

I feel like it was cupcakes, then fro-yo, now donuts. They just opened up a sugar shack near me and I think it used to be a froyo shop

those look like shit tho, who would want to eat a froot loops one?

I need to find a cool bakery around here. All the ones I know of are either pretty small, or they specialize in one dessert (cupcakes, bread, etc.)

If any anons from CT could point me in the direction of a bakery with lots of variety I would be super grateful.

I got one of those, it was awesome.

The best

How does one make their own donuts? I fucking love donuts, but Walmart doesn't make anything near as fancy as the ones in the OP.

Gonna dump the few dessert/pastry based infographics I have.

...

...

...

...

is this real or ruse

Don't do it, it makes mustard gas.

Omg the purple one looks divine

the vegan one. Lel.

It's actually called Purple Rain ;_;7

Donuts were memes since 2011 with the rise of the cronut. Now it's all about meme milkshakes.

Meme milkshakes haven't made it to my town yet, thank goodness.

I know this is a pastry thread, but this is just ridiculous.

It sure does darling.

When will pudding get it's day in the limelight?

Would try the Cookie Crisp one, though my teeth hurt just from looking at them desu

When some hipster Brooklynite decided to add random shit to it and open a store that only serves 'quirky' pudding.

Sweet, sweet memes

At first I could only find pic related in whole foods but now my local supermarket carries them as well. I don't know what's going on but I hope these stick around for a while.

4th grade

>now with pic

I'd eat pudding that tastes like breakfast cereal if it existed
but I wouldn't pay 10 bucks for a cup

notsohumblepie.blogspot.com/2010/08/thomas-kellers-cinnamon-sugar-doughnuts.html

Does anyone have a good recipe for cinnamon buns?

youtube.com/watch?v=hSTAZMEnxDc

I know you're here. Go back to where you belong.

There's a little bakery run by a friendly Albanian family in my hometown, and i don't think I've had a better donut.

...

>Craft pudding
>locally sourced everything
>$15 for a half cup

I love local doughnut places. A lot of them where I lived were run by asians.

Ny has pudding shops already

...

TRIPS~

$44?

It better come with a blowjob.

You guys making anything special for Mother's Day? I'm still trying to think of something other than cookies.

i think you mean blowie joey senpai

Just make your mom a nice dinner. Unless she's a complete cunt, she won't care what it is. She'll just be happy that you took the time to make a nice dinner for her.

My mom is dead so no not really

Fruity pebble doughnuts are my favorite. I'm happy they are more popular now.

>cereal on a doughnut

Just add a pound of sugar, you dumb fucks. That's all cereal is.

I don't want to look at her face. Could she wear a mask or hood or just give me a handjob with her back to me?

I really don't understand the hype of macarons. To me, they are far from the pinnacle of pastries.

Uh if you're already eating a doughnut why would you care about the toppings? You've already dedicated yourself to having a treat.

"Oh oh can you please not add the extra hot fudge to my molten lava cake? I don't want those extra 200 calories on my 800 calorie dessert! That would be unhealthy!"

Plus it's like less than 1/2 cup of cereal on that doughnut live a little you twat.

>tfw fat couple comes into work
>landwhale asks her fat black bf if he wants anything
>only if they have sugar free and low fat cookies

And cereal tasted like sugary shit, so what's the point? It's nothing but sugar and garbage. If I want garbage on my doughnut I'll go ahead and swirl it around in a freshly used toilet.

You dumb manchildren are just putting shit onto your pastries for "nostalgia" or some other stupid shit and it's fucking insulting. If you want cereal just eat sugar or better yet just fuck off and stop supporting this horseshit. What's next? Dunkaroos on a doughnut? Maybe some fucking freeze pops or GOGURT?

Fuck you.

Where's all the fucking recipes then? God damn it man. There better be some here when I wake up.

Why are you in a thread about pastries if you hate eating delicious things?

Also if you can't distinguish the taste between captain crunch and fruity pebbles, you may have a serious issue. I haven't bought a box of cereal in over a decade but I'm willing to try an interesting doughnut. Why? Because I like to try new and different things and I'm open minded. You're the one that sounds like a baby.

I made this thread hoping the baker heroes of Veeky Forums would provide some recipes.

...

I want to try that and I dont even like candy corn.

If only pastries had half the calories they had...

I don't like eating snacks with 400 calories.

there's a man's face on top of that pudding

...

Bane?

...

...

well it makes it 5x more unhealthy but 2x more delicious so... i'm pretty sure it's legit

These are my favorite

Asked this in another thread but didn't get much help. What is the best way to infuse Earl grey tea into macarons? Preferably not through flavoring the filling.

Pic is tres leches with meringue that I got from a cuban deli the other day.

Most recipes I've seen call for adding tea leaves directly to the meringue batter and baking per usual.

>donuts are kind of becoming the new cupcake
>being a decade behind of the rest of the country

This is why people make fun of flyover land.

and i make fun of those who have to pay $3/gallon for gas and $15 per person for a takeout meal still

will meme food die with the downfall of the american empire? who will succeed them?

This, the last time donuts spiked in memularity was when voodoo donuts went viral.

It's not like you're making the same amount of money in dayton ohio champ

who else honey cruller here?

>mfw Boston cream donut

No recipes Veeky Forums? I'm disappointed.

i make shy of $14/hr and live quite well, the same wage in a large city i'd be sharing an apartment

You're missing the point, there's no six figure jobs in hick town. I moved to a bigger town because I can make more money in my line of work. Even If you're a chef at wendy's, wages are typically higher in the city.

I'll just post this since they're pretty good

epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/honey-hazelnut-financiers-51234850

i think you are missing the point... living in a loud, angry, dirty, overcrowded shithole with tons of traffic to make more money is pretty counterproductive unless you intend on retiring/moving at some point being the primary motivation

the time you spend sitting in gridlocked traffic or on the subway with a bunch of niggers chimping out outweighs almost any increase in income for me personally. i would much prefer a marginal decrease in spending power while living in a much more comfortable environment

Not every city is nyc you fucking moron. The small town I used to live in was a shit hole with nothing fun to do and the traffic was even worse there because the roads were not designed for steady population growth. There's quaint small towns that can be decent to live in but the point still stands that big cities are statistically higher income and have much more culture than flyover towns.

I live downtown in a nice neighborhood (2 br nice apartment for under $1000) and there's a big beautiful park two blocks away. Restaurants within walking distance: Japanese, chinese, korean, thai, vietnamese, south american, mexican, southern, all the best regional burger/fast food chains, local coffee roasters, bbq, and your typical high end American fare. Meanwhile truffle oil is still a meme in the small town I used to live in.

There is light outside of flyover land.

i live in a decent sized city (280,000) and we have access to all of those dining options and quality restaurants.

whenever i go to a larger city the menu price doubles but the food is consistently worse (and the service is worse) and everyone in the restaurant is a delusional hipster who thinks its the greatest place ever.

Statistics are against you and you're just cherry picking examples. Just because the new yorkers at the TGI Fridays you went to in NYC were rude doesn't mean they're rude in every big city. smaller towns will never be more cultured on average than big cities.

Go have yourself one of those fancy new maple bacon donuts

>live in top 60 city by population in US
>"small town"
>you don't know what culture is
>flyover

care to elaborate on "culture"? do you mean a large immigrant population or do you mean dressing up to go watch faggots dance around on a stage on the weekend for $100 a ticket to support the "arts".

Not sure what you're getting at now.
You didn't know that unconventional donuts are a long passed fad, that is why you were called a flyover, accept it.

To the people who are with the times, what are some good pastries for a mother's day gift?

French pastries are always nice imo. Depending on your mother's tastes, try getting her some opera cake, or a fruit tart.

i would make my mom a chocolate pound cake because thats what she likes instead of thinking whatever the jews are trying to sell me this week is the greatest thing on earth

next tell me about how you bought kanyes new sneakers for $500 and how that makes you a better smarter person

you are a perfect example of the typical faggot in the city that i would rather make less money just to avoid having to interact with

...

Opera cake sounds good. I might try to find Italian cookie cake, I know it's for the holidays but my mom likes almond a lot and I've been wanting to try it.

do a princess cake, OP.

girls/women like "light" pastries (fruit flavors, delicate flavors, pastels, etc.) as gifts because it implies the one giving it to them thinks they are dainty and cute like the pastry being given as a gift. I'm not making this shit up.

anyway, a prinsesstarta would give off the aformentioned light/dainty vibe and also be relatively unique if you live in the US. also you'd be calling your mom a princess which is always nice.

I'm not OP
that sounds pretty fucking good, not sure if I'll be able to find it. The fruit thing make sense, pretty sure my mom loves lemon desserts.

>he names his reaction images
>he expects us to think he's not a huge loser

What does candy corn taste like?
I live somewhere where there is no candy corn, and I keep hearing about it.

My favourite type of candy is a sweetcorn-flavoured chewy gummy-like one (texture like a wine gum, but it tastes like sweetcorn and is only very mildly sweet). Is candy corn like that?

>us

>pound cake
>implying it's not a Jewish invention

stupid goy

Candy corn is called such because it looks like corn kernals.

Candy corn is made from marshmallow, confectioners sugar, and honey. It's actually quite easy to make yourself! You should try it! Good candy corn tastes like honey with a marshmallow aftertaste, and yes it's very very sweet.

Okay, so it doesn't taste like sweetcorn (only looks like one), but like marshmallow/honey/vanilla. I'm disappointed but intrigued. I will definitely try it when I visit America (soon).

I've never had a good one. The grocery store ones taste like sugary plastic

If i didn't love computers so much I could've been making 6 figures working with my dad but fuck petroleum engineering

its literally the worst candy on earth. most people throw it in the trash instead of eating it.

it tastes like really sweet wax

I thought I'd try making macarons without processing and sifting the flours...it didn't work out well (still delicious though)

I used the birthday cake frosting recipe from the Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook. The only other time I had a "birthday cake" dessert the frosting just tasted like sandy, sugary butter. I thought this frosting would be better since it uses cream cheese but it tastes almost the same way. Maybe this is what Funfetti frosting tastes like and I just never knew.

Where in CT? Not to get too creepy, but you'll want some convenience I assume.

Crisco, powdered sugar, popcorn salt, creme boquet flavoring

I love candy corn, it's one of my favorite candies.

I recommend you look for the one with the chocolate bottom (often called Indian corn). It's the BEST.

I live about 23 minutes East of Hartford. Right now my favorite bakery is in Portland almost 30 min away but their selection is limited so I'm willing to take a drive.
