This is why I programmed my own OS specifically for cryptocoin.

It's based on Electron, React, blockchain technology and so far runs 40,000% better than WIN2K and IOSX.

It works just fine without ECC in general. There's nothing magical about ZFS that requires ECC, it just goes from 99.9% sure to 100% assurance of integrity on ECC.
My main server is for bigass ECC storage over NFS.
And I gave my memory the three day run to be sure it didn't have any tangential holes.
