SortedFood: their videos are annoying and the recipes are pure shit, none of them are tested. When the 4 guys eat the food at the end it's really obvious they're exaggerating how good it is, if it's any good at all
Byron Talbott: his recipes are also very bad and poorly written. Can't blame him though, at least he tries to make his own shit up

Probably not and you should better look out for a basic cooking book. Such books don't have a cook's name on it or have a theme (e.g. Italian, Vegetarian, Deserts, you get the gist).
Preferably you go to a book selling store. The point is that you can peek inside. If you can do that online just as well you can stick to your online source.
What you want is a book that tells you to cook ingredients. Not dishes, ingredients like potatoes, cauliflower, different kinds of meat, make simple/basic sauces, etc.
For your first tries you can simply combine the ingredients how you see fit or how you have experienced them before.
The point is this will tremendously deepen your understanding of recipes you want to make and thus making you a better cook on the long run.

CultMoo is a great channel! They do some over the top things, a lot of eating/drinking games, and some simply cooking. They are at about 100k subs and still very genuine with comments sections as a channel with say 3k would be.
