I don't think it's so much eating curry makes you smell bad, I think curry just has an extremely pervasive and lingering smell so if you are near curry often (like eating it and or cooking it daily) eventually you, your hair and all your clothes will smell like curry and you'll lose all your friends unless you can convince them to eat curry every day too, which is how england got infected.
