Do americans ever get to taste real cheese?

Do americans ever get to taste real cheese?

there are many places in america where a large part of old world cheese is illegal altogether.

Not only do the majority of them (99%) never eat real cheese in their lives, most of them never even realise the cheese they eat isn't real. They buy their processed deli cheese slices and go on about how good it is, blissfully ignorant.

they can get pasteurized cheese don't they?

I tasted real brie once. It was amazing. I wish I could have gone on a cheese tour of Europe before it became Europeistan

don't bother with actual food thread on Veeky Forums most amerifatties here just want to discuss which fast food chain is the best

yes, most. But not unpasteurized.

even locally produced ones?

Some of the finest the USA has to offer.

I read that
unpasterized milk is illegal...

Unpasteurized cheese is prohibited by the FDA

>implying smelly maggot-infested cheese is something us civilized Americans would ever want

Sorry, we aren't 3rd world citizens here.

>b-but muh unpasteurized cheese!

Stay pleb.

how sad

You can get unpasteurized cheese. But only if the maker has bothered to explain their case to the FDA about why it's safe to eat. Or if you just make it yourself. It's nanny state bullshit but not impossible to get around.

No user, you are the shitposter.

Does anyone like goat cheese?
I adore it, but my friends hate it. I don't understand, the taste doesn't seem that dividing to me, it's delicious.

Protip: it's McDonalds.

so it's per-case basis?
Any big unpasteurized products in america?
what's your favorite cheese, assuming you're merikan?

That's not true.

I love it, it's great with honey and nuts. Goes very well in salads as well

>Any big unpasteurized products in america?

Not that I know of, but just about every town has a farmers market or something like it where you can get it.

I like cottage cheese, but my family has a history of making their own so I'm bias.

I can buy unpasteurized cheese and milk at the store I don't know what you lards are talking about.

We live in the richest country in the world, the one that invented the supermarket. I can go to a non-specialist supermarket and have dozens if not hundreds of cheeses to choose from that aren't Kraft or "cheddar".

I can also go to the specialty market and have access to a wider and finer variety of cheeses than anyone in the history of mankind. We have entire huge stores devoted to cheese, wine, and cured meats.

I mean, for fucks sake, we even have a huge cheese producing culture, just like every other place settled by europeans

but nah man, it's Veeky Forums, of course we only eat velveeta and hamburgers in America

you sound delusional though
anybody in europe has access to a wider range of better quality products
