Why would he assume they didn't taste good when they were fresh 70 years ago?

The best on Youtube.

In some of his other videos he ends up enjoying shit, I guess.

Why would i eat that when i can cook ?

because it's a culinary adventure

I love this fucker

He remindes me of Shaggy from the Scooby Doo porn parody.

Fucking definitely, maybe :l I would dig into those like a real-time war actor.
I ask recruiters when I can, what the food is like, to nudge at this idea and they always tell me the "The food in the ___ is better than any branch." I think rations are a genius war strategy and those cafeterias you hear about are a waste of money. Kind of glorified, hosting a mess hall in some third-world country playing hsoe to an American military base.

Imagining how historic wars would have played out if rations existed makes me think though.

>mfw this guy though
>serious balls and military knowledge
>tfw I smoke Marlboro Reds

*playing host

YES
I love Steve
some of his videos I can't stop laughing at

I wonder how often modern soldiers eat MREs and not prepared food.

What the fucking fuck are you on about?

I smoked a few of my 70+ year old cigarettes manufactured by the Reich in Estonia for Landsers.

How were they?

Oh wow, I bought some of those on ebay once. Kept 'em for years and then drunkenly smoked them.

They tasted like they were 70 years old, nothing like anything I've smoked before

Also I ended up on some psychotic nazi guy's mailing list after that, little does he know I'm an untermensch

MRE's, especially freeze dried stuff can fuck with your metabolism if your eating it over a long period of time.
Cooked meals and mess halls also fill one other very important roll, keeping the moral up.

I only had MRE's (the freeze dried stuff) for just over two weeks during conscription once during field exercises. It gets old quite fast, and everyone was really glad when we got back to the base and got an actually cooked meal.

Depends on what stage the operation is at, and what base you're located at. If you're at one of the bigger bases 80% of your meals might be cooked. If you're at a forward operating base MRE's could be pretty much the only thing you see for weeks, or months.

>MRE's could be pretty much the only thing you see for weeks, or months.

Don't they cause pretty severe constipation

Yep, they can. People react different to them though. I don't have a really good answer on how you deal with it if it gets really bad I'm afraid.
