Garlic

Is it possible to use too much garlic?

Nah

I've though about when adding it to my recipes, but I've never taste-tested them and afterwards thought that I shouldn't have added those last several cloves.

I wouldn't use that nasty shit in any type of food.
You're making a mistake.

Put it in a ziploc bag to avoid cross contamination and throw it away, hsss.

DIE MONSTER. YOU DON'T BELONG IN THIS WORLD.

I suppose you could theoretically include so much garlic that it ruptures your stomach, but short of that, no.

No.

Unless you have guests who don't like garlic. Then, you might have to scale it down.

>ruptures your stomach
as in from the sheer volume or from some chemical reaction im unaware of?

Yes, it can taste OK but you will reek as the smell literally comes out of the pores of your skin.

> Then, you might have to scale it down.

The number of guests, that is.

this

...

I've made a garlic aioli that definitely had too much garlic in it. The smell stuck around in the refrigerator and pissed off my roommates.

speaking of gar'

what's the deal with elephant garlic

I straight up each raw cloves of garlic as a snack so I doubt theres anything that I would describe as too garlicy.

>Not drinking garlic flavoured holy water from a silver chalice every night before bed
ISHYGDDT

Its like Alaskan king crab.

Really big but inferior in taste to the smaller varieties

kys plz

I remember putting too much garlic in some aglio e olio once and having explosive wet farts along with a burning rectum for the next four days.

you probably smell pretty bad.

>kys
Leave.

kys plz

Yes, if it starts to burn your mouth then it's too much.

Only garlic powder. Fresh is impossible to use too much of. Hell, look at chicken and 40 cloves.

Sheer volume. The only chemical reaction of garlic is amazing taste and dead vampires.

It's entirely possible to use too much fresh garlic.

The 40 cloves recipe works because it's cooked for a long time. Cooking raw garlic mellows the flavor. Put those same 40 cloves into a salad (or any dish that has a short cooking time) and then tell me that's not "too much".

yes, just swap cloves for heads and you'll see what's too much garlic
you're probably not going to die from too much garlic, if that was the question, but why would you want that taste to overpower other tastes in your food?

That's normal sized garlic in Spain.

My friend's mom made some garlic mashed potatoes for sunday dinner once. I think what she did was used instant garlic mashed potatoes and proceeded to add even more garlic to it. It was fucking disgusting.

Aglio e olio means anal sex with semen discharge to those of you plebs who don't speak French.

>kys
>not kysmm

there's your error

You clearly never had a garlic induced headache

>dumb ass room mate makes a stir fry
>adds an entire head of garlic
>barely chops it up

Absolutely.

on a 'go style 'za?

never too much!

you wot m7+1?

>see elephant garlic for the first time
>"wow this'll be awesome, i won't have to peel 10 cloves when i need garlic"
>tastes like nothing
i guess it would be okay if you wanted to make a sauce from nothing but garlic, but it was disappointing

>work security in a classified facility
>provide access to and monitor evening maintenance contractors as they clean, vacuum, and dispose of trash
>Hungarian maintenance worker eats so much garlic that he leaves a wake of stench wherever he goes
>smells like a combination of body odor, coffee halitosis, and garlic paste
>persistent stench is so bad it lasts in the offices throughout the night into the morning
>can not be defeated by aerosol spray deodorant
>seems to contaminate any papers or fabrics in the environment
>clothing worn in facility contaminated and funkified by stench
>hair contaminated and funkified by stench
>employees complain about funkified offices
>Hungarian confronted about his funk, but eventually fired for failure to quit eating garlic resulting in the funkification of said facility

True.
Fucking.
Story.

>Cooked garlic

No, it is impossible to use too much.

>Raw garlic

This can overpower anything if you use too much. I made some hummus a couple weeks ago, went a little heavy on the garlic, and it was just unpleasant.

Yes. For instace, when cooking mackerel.

I put a whole head on a half-loaf worth of garlic bread

To be fair the garlic I bought was some weak shit, not buying that brand again.
