Letting him know you were on to him that his "deposit" was fake, and only a watch-only address, was a wrong move.
You shouldn't have let on that you knew he was scamming.
INSTEAD, you should've just added ANOTHER watch address with 1 btc as your "deposit". Then played dumb if he starts talking about "watch only addresses".
