Why all the hate on biz for ETH games? Every thread about a game gets called a scam and pajeet. But in my experience I've had a lot better gains in ETH games than in the market. It's amazing. One day ETH goes down but it doesn't matter because I've gotten 1 more ETH than I had yesterday.

When the ARPANET was first created one of the first things uses did was play games. We have all seen games with digital economies make people rich like WOW and SecondLife.
Now people want to bash etheruem because most of its market right now is in block chain gaming. It makes me wonder if people laughed at the idea of the ARPANET saying things like "oh it's a cute toy" and "that's nice but what can you do besides play games?"
Because Veeky Forums is too "smart" to fall for these games. I'm with you OP. I've shilled 2 games from their first few hours of transactions, and made good money off them. Didn't stop the threads from filling with hate, lol.

So I have two different hypothesis about why this is. One, the people who post FUD about ether games are truly Ether gamers who enjoy being the only hackers in the ether gaming community and therefore don't want it to catch on with Veeky Forums.

If open source smart contracts can't prevent scamming then Etheruem is dead and we have bigger problems.
But I have good news for you biz, smart contracts do prevent scamming. And here's another nugget, there is an actual programming language called solidity built into etheruem and it's turning complete. That's how we create our games.

Wew. I'm nowhere near that, but I've used my profit to fund positions in coins I like. It sucks when you get stuck with a bag in these games, but it's normally a good lesson for doing better next time.
They're literally all ponzi schemes. Sure, plenty of people will win. But plenty of people will get burned. When you're the guy who buys at the top, that's it. Your money is now gone, never coming back. These "games" (lol) all fizzle out in 1-2 weeks tops. People make a quick buck and move on to the next one, but a bunch of people get fucked.

Each time someone rebuys one of their tokens, the price goes up by a set amount, and previous owner receives a set percentage, a set percentage goes to the contract itself to pay for transcations fees and to pay the contract creator, etc. etc.
Exact same shit as an Ether pyramid but with an extra 'game' layer on top to hook people stupid enough to not realize it

One I made insane gains on was KryptoWar, one advertised as a war game. Buy one of 100 countries, build an army, fight other countries. That kind of stuff.
It is more or less dead now, but if you check its transaction history you can see that even x100 within a week wasn't out of the question.

Everyone is FUD-ing the size of the percentage gains, but once you pick a high-quality game they usually follow the same pattern if you stay close to the floor values and don't buy the high end:

>Volume heats up
>Attracts people with more playing eth than you
>Floor moves out of your range, you take your profits and go
This exact same pattern worked for me for CryptoCities, CryptoPornStars, Kpop, and probably others I can't remember at the moment. The risk is rather minimal if you only play in the shallow end. I've only gotten burned when I ventured deep and learned the above lesson.

A game is supposed to entertainment first and maybe become collectable decades later. I think ethercraft ruined the image of ether games for a lot of people. I'm pretty sure ethercraft is a scam and I lost $100 on it but I've doubled my money so far in cryptocities.net and made good profit on a lot of other games so it kinda sucks ethercraft made games look bad
