Mining Farm

I managed to get hired by this chinese guy to set up a bitcoin mining farm with 20,000 antminer S9's
I'm supposed to meet them in a couple days again and give proposed solutions.
what resources will I need and what are the key things I need to know?
If your advice is useful I'll donate some btc after I get my first paycheck.

a lot of surge protectors and some electrical tape

Yeah, okay.

this is my dream op

youre going to have to learn a lot about electricity. especially if you havent found a location

We have a location in mind in a city with affordable electricity. Are there any guides or resources that could help me learn what I need to know?
I'm a university student who did well for himself in crypto and managed to stumble into this job though my network and am completely out of my depth here. This opportunity is too great for me to pass on so I've been faking it to this point and now really need to learn fast so I can make this happen.
A site, guide, video anything would be helpful.

i dont have any resources, sorry. but since youre using asics, its pretty much on ez mode.

if you already have a location, id say come up with a cooling and ventilation plan for this guy, to show youre serious.

what city? keep weather in mind as well.

efficient deployment of industrial scale computing operations with high security considerations for morons
also, lawyer up if you really do this shit... it sounds sketchy and the chinese are shit

How much actual mining have you done? How much actual experience do you have in actual networking (cisco etc) and network security? If you don't have any you're going to get btfo.

Also this

I've mined a few coins on my pc a few years ago
btc ltc and doge but that was only for a few months cause I had a shitty Pentium back then
No experience in network security but I'm a fast learner.
I'm going to contact a lawyer to draft a contract and make sure I'm not being set up as a scapegoat for money laundering or something.
It's in Canada but I can't say the city name for security reasons. I'm planning on having open air cooling cause its pretty cold outside and that should save on some power.

Peterborough?

What is there to learn. Ever circuit is 20 amps. At 220 volts times that by how many rigs your tuning. Pretty simple

dude sorry to break it for you but if you've got no experience or idea about mining forget about setting up 20k S9s. Couple of days to meet them? Better start reading up fast and set up a deadline of at least 2 months while you make preparations

Va au Quebec.

HydroQuebec deals are coming.

Not trying to larp but don't repost on that info.

Si tu sais parler en francais tu pourras au moin t'installer dans une province qui est en train d'investir dans le crypto/AI space.

what deals are you talking about user?

roger ver moving mining out of china

Find an engineering consultancy firm, with so much electronic equipment you might want spend extra on protection and proper load distribution. All this will depend on the state of existing wiring but 20k asics will draw around 20MW and that means you will need to account for that. That's the best advice I can give you: get a consultation from a respectable electrical engineer. If somebody tells you that electricians can design don't believe them, you need an actual P.Eng if you want to ensure continuity of service.

You basically have to learn how to build a data center in a couple days. You are fucked, but at least you chinked the chinks.

>enter ip adress in browser
>point s9 at whatever chink pool they want
>don't forget to instal heat extractors for the apropriate cubic meters
A literal nigger could do your job

man, your going to need a fuckload of milk crates

you are a dumb faggot

If this is real, and i would like to think it is, you are pretty fucked. Are you doing this compleatly solo? Like running cable? Dude, do you have any clue how long that alone would take lol???? Like, optimistically, factoring for terminations, maybe several hours per 100 or so runs. Now take that times 20k? Op you aree going to need teams of people working on this.

>How much actual mining have you done? How much actual experience do you have in actual networking (cisco etc) and network security? If you don't have any you're going to get btfo.

This. Very much this. And if you have no serious datacentre design experience in airflow, hvac, raised flooring, cabling, monitoring, UPS and preferably clustering of critical networking systems you are going to fuck it up massively. Its not a learn a you go process. I have designed multiple small scale datacentres with FC sans and blade in chassis clustered hosting VMs. Its nota suck it and see exercise. I use specialist design suits to gauge BTU/wattage peak ran RPM airflow,
xeon fire suppression, underfloor HVAC etc. You are basically fucked if you are a bullshit artist. I don't kind telling you I hope you get gang raped in a cell to as people like you piss me off. You won't google the answers to this one you cunt.

Doe not know about 3 phase drops and UPS breakouts or surge protection. Just stop.

Make sure to heavily insure against fire, then, when it no longer remains profitable, burn the whole thing down.

tell bout rack airflow you spastic. You could roast a chicken in that enviroments within minutes of powering up. That's just before you get a DC fire. You would be fucking amazed what will burn in them, even the metals in casings combust. Hope you know how to mount racks on raised floors holding half a ton to a ton so they don't tip. Have fun. You need to hir three people on 150K a year each tailored to each project phase and it will take you at best from scratch 9 months. Might be no harm to have a full time hiring gent as you are going to need an industrial flooring specialist, an elec eng, a few sparks, a networking admin and assistant, network security pen tester and consultant, a NOC, security a cooling eng, logistics and wear housing and a structural engineer. A project manager, hiring agency and fucking massive professional indemnity insurance. O yeah and someone who is not you running it. I hope you end up naked on a chain tending an opium grow house.

I don't think you should be faking it for this type of job. You'll get found out on your first fuckup which will probably cost 'this chinese guy' around 100k at least.

can you even find a site that is capable of receiving at least 30 megawatts of service in your chosen city?

>Le mysterious china benefactor hires a guy with shitloads of money in equipment and facilities to someone who struggles to smell his own farts
LARP has really gone downhill these days

This. Also gonna add everything should be built in a cleanroom enviroment.

Use the kano pool kano.is

Lowest fees 0.9% shares the tx fees and large miners get bonus BTC for finding blocks for now. Founder is responsive and very smart technical wise.

more like

>chinese user hits it rich playing the crypto casino.
>young kid in college, family back on the mainland is filthy rich
>user graduates with an engineering degree or something lesser
>convinces his dad/uncle btc is the future
>dad/uncle passes user on to rich business colleagues who hire user
>user is stuck in the LARP on the line for millions.

at the very least, he should convince the Chinese guy to hire some electrical engineers / electricians under him. and he can "manage" them aka, do nothing except look important.

This is literally the only non-retarded solution.

buut..buuut..op has a Linux box and built his on vidya pc and has lived life via search engines what could go wrong?

O the joy of configing the fucking gbic trunks and vlans on that. Mining farms a shit to flies for attacks, better learn IOS double quick quick to get the load balancing on your firewall clusters running for DDOS mitigation. Why can I see him staning with a crate of Linksys routers off egay wondering why his cunning wifi plan is failing.

And how does that fucking help? Does he post them the antminers one at a time by ups and pray? You colossal faggot

jut fucking kys and die with your bait. May you die in a fish hook accident livestreamed.

ABORT ABORT ABORT
probably should listen to the anons here that have a clue

make sure you AUTOMATE AUTOMATE AUTOMATE
Hit 'mining' platform is a giant production application
any downtime is money
you need a DEV/STAGE/PROD pipeline for continuous integration and reliable service delivery

in this case running a bunch of miners.
MONITOR everything to the extent and accuracy needed to adjust and hit business goals.
How many 9's you need?

t. pro user here

you need to monitor power input
get that into a metric system like munin or whatever
AUTOMATTTTT

I won't be working alone. I'm basically helping them plan the farm and then I'm supposed to coordinate a team on the ground to help set it up. Then me and 2 other people are going to manage a portion of the Btc we mine and earn a percentage of the profits.
We qualify for industrial electricity usage

This is some low grade larp first grade dingus shit.

This is still in development, but could be an idea to reduce power costs.
