I like just a little sugar. Sometimes honey though I know that's controversial. I don't usually do cream or milk though, caffeine fucks my stomach up enough and dairy would add to the fire.

If by "bad coffee" you mean "instant coffee" then, sure the molasses in Brown sugar will add to the molasses in the instant coffee but for decent coffee I think raw sugar tastes best.
