You missed the point. If everyone globally agreed to stop growing their population, it would work and that's exactly what we need to do in the next fifty years. However, if you try to stop growing while others are still growing, your corporations will be at a disadvantage and the people with power will freak out and reverse the trend. This is why Europe is taking in so many refugees and is part of why there are such things as "sanctuary cities" in the USA.

You either need global cooperation or a population including your business leaders that's fine with losing profit to decrease population.
