What's the best variety of wine and why is it Malbec?
What's the best variety of wine and why is it Malbec?
Merlot
merlot is not real
Pinot noir
Rioja
Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir
malbecs are only grown for blending; anyone that drinks a non-blended malbec is gay.
I tried sangiovese for the first time it's pretty legit, usually I just drink merlot or super dry syrah
Riesling
Hell yes my dude
Actually champagne
Rioja is fucking AIDS in a bottle; spicy, intense and bitter

Visited a region in West Germany where they grow Riesling - lovely flavour of wine imo
Because you only eat burgers and steak
>hello everyone I'm broken
Try not buying rioja from Aldi next time
Malbec is great, I'll give you that.
I had some old vine Zinfandel the other day that was velvety smooth, though.
OH, and some old vine Garnacha from Spain when we went out for tapas the other night that was so good, I took a pic of the bottle so I could go find some for myself at home.
Fucking hell yes, Riesling is god tier wine.
My favorites: Marsanne for white and probably Sangiovese or Cab Sauv for red.
The correct term is not variety, is grape, Cletus
Thats not sangiovese or nebiolo
Moscato (pink or white) or Champagne. Sometimes non champagne sparkling whites, but not as often and only especially nice ones.
oak leaf from walmart is delicious and only $3
You are close, but it is tannat.
i like the $3 oak leaf from walmart it's so worth it for $3
wait, where do you buy it and how much does it cost?
>ctrl+f
>no petite sirah
Cabernet, Riesling, or sauvignon blanc. If I ever catch a woman drinking meme-tier moscato, I disregard her.
What makes it meme tier?
Got this from a winemaker friend of my family in Calistoga.
>2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
The winemaker basically has 4 bottles left, 2 of which he gave us.
>it's fucking divine
The other is a 2010 cab, Sangiovese, merlot blend.
The other is a 2007 Petite Verdot
And the wrapped one is a '04 cuvee rouge.
What is your guy's stock? We have more but they're all in the cellar.
Mein neger
Honestly I like really cheap plonk, prefer the less refined taste
There are plenty malbecs that are cheap. I've bought many different malbecs all less then 20 bucks.
OP try Carmenere wines. South America produces then. I think it's out of Argentina?
In a few weeks I'll be doing the vendeanges, collecting grappes, making riesling, gewurztraminer, pinot/blanc/gris/noir, and chasselas. The best wine is gewurztraminer in "vendeanges tardives" imo, but it's really sweet, maybe too much for some people. God bless Elsass!
>tfw used to pick grapes to pay the bills while I was in college
Shit, I barely drink wine, but the fact that I did 3 summers of tending to the grapes greatly increased my appreciation of not just wine, but all grape products
My faves
Red:
Sangiovese/Cab/Merlot blends
Barberra
Valpocella
Montepulciano d'abruzzo
Old vine zin
Whites:
Gavi
Falanghina
Vermentino
Orvieto
Oaked/Semi oaked Burgundy
Muscadet
Sauv Blanc
i meant that as unoaked/semi oaked burgundy
it's a dessert/cooking sweet wine, not something you actually drink when you have some basic culture
Primitivo
Sangiovese
Get gut pleb
Hell yeah. Also traminer.
But if we want to stay at reds, blaufrankisch is pretty dank
roll for furmint
Cabernet franc ofc
