We can all agree the printed page is obsolete, right?

>that kindle 9.7"
When they'll remake a Kindle that can read PDFs properly?

I like to own physical copies of my favorite books tho

yeah, all shitposting aside i get this.

why don't you use physical books as a conversation piece and share them with friends who could use a good book to read?

I don't know people who like to read

I POSTED IT AGAIN MOM!

People still trust the printed word more than the digital.

The irony is that your comment is more recycled than OP's.

No it's not. The most recycled threads are Now that the dust has settle, What's the verdict on, Redpill me on this, Can we all agree on. It's the majority of Veeky Forums threads outside of generals, memes, and porn threads.

I like buying used books because they're often pretty cheap (a couple thrift stores near me sell paperbacks for $0.5 and the selection isn't bad since it's a college town) and owning a book makes me more likely to read it sooner rather than after 5 meme-of-the-week novels from the library.

...

Not obsolete, but I do have a preference for eReaders nowadays. Kobo Glo HD, just feels more comfortable to use. Don't hate me Veeky Forums.

i understand. i got a kindle and love it.

Nice, Paperwhite? Was hard picking between the Glo HD and that.

yeah

Kindles are shit and none should ever buy it. I have to use one of these fucking things for my schooling because they get all their textbooks through Amazon (business school). They are slow AS FUCK, the page flipping transition could give me epilepsy and god forbid you forget charging it twice a day. I like highlighting, jolt down notes and wear my textbooks down with lots of uses. Nope, forget it with the Kindle. You will never be able to take notes the same way, your highlight is accessible through their "Notes" tab and you will never be able to make out what you highlighted from their thumbnail of the page you've highlighted in. I FUCKING hate this thing, I wish I have an actual textbook instead. I can only imagine old, fat mothers wanting a Kindle for her novel trilogy.

>there will be a day when I get called a hipster for reading physical books

Fuck you. I admit it's very practical and my paperwhite is fantastic for night reading but I will never abandon printed books.

Since this is about e-Readers, what is the nicest font, in your guys' opinion?
Hard mode: Fonts that aren't pre-installed on any device.

Doubt it, lad. E-readers are steadily on the decline in terms of sales.

Garamond. But maybe that's just because we had to write all our uni assignments in Garamond and I got used to it.

Because most people have some form of one and they don't need to be upgraded.

Fuck ereaders, not appealing at all. I prefer to have a big, hard BOOK in my hands.

One time I downloaded an .epub file and it was JUST TEXT.

What the fuck?

No layout, formatting, etc - not even PDF level. Why would anyone want to take a step backwards?

I'm posting this with my Moleskine notebook. The captchas a really hard, but it's worth it.
