What is the best cut for fries? I tend to lean towards wedge or waffle, but what's Veeky Forums's opinion?

waffle fries are great. I love them with chili for whatever reason

Tots

curly fry- good amount of crunch, chew and soft potato-y textures

Crinkle cut, why is this a question?

curly is kino

This guy gets it

Shoe string.

If you're not eating waffle fries then why even bother?

plain thick cut with spice

Crinkle cut is objectively best.

>thick meaty fry with maximum surface area for more crisp
>ridged surface is perfect for holding onto dipping sauces

It gets a bad wrap because it is often cooked incorrectly. Often they are served soft, soggy and unseasoned. When they are piping hot and crispy it is tip top tier fry.

Tots as long as they are crispy and not incredibly soft.

Otherwise shoestring.

curly, wedge are good too

i hate waffle fries.

Steak cut

frites are best, followed by dutch fries

Depends on how they are prepped, and what they are being served with.

Also, wedges are too meaty to eat plain. Only good if they are well seasoned or battered. Fight me.

Lattice and curly
Bonus for batter and breading

gotta be curly

waffle and curly are top 2. the order can be either or 2bh

crinkle fries are my favorite food

This

waffle>shoestring>curly>tot>hashbrown>chip>wedge

Slice potato in half.
Place sliced sides down, slice into 1-2cm slices.
Slice potato slices into chips so they have a square cross-section, with wedge-shaped ones for the lumpy bits of the potato.

Who seriously buys pre-made chips? Potatoes exist.

>chips
*fries

This

Wedges require certain batters, like onion rings, so they can vary.
Crinkle cut fries are grand when done right, and still good when not.
Regular fries are just regular, and a nice standard.
Waffle was never really my thing, but it was not bad.

Overall, I'd say wedges or crinkle.

Tots no doubt, family

WV here, they deep fry russet wedges in chicken breading here. Salty but dank.

crinkle cut is for fucking PLEBS

All of them

crinkle cut fries are school cafeteria food tier.
best fries are seasoned fries like checkers/rallys. arbys curly fries come in a close second.

>PLEBS
Plebeian detected.

Popeye's had great fries, seasoned and everything
Combine that with their spicy tenders, it makes me wonder why I didn't live up to my heritage sooner

I hope the 5 dollar big box never leaves

but that's literally the worst

I like shoelace

Come on now, when done right crinkle cut is pretty based, easiest to fuck up and make gross though.

Waffle fries for chili
Wedges when eating any kind of BBQ
Twisty if getting fast food
Croquettes for when you're having a roast
Crinkle cut for everything else, though straight cut is also fine.

They really are. Even the best crinkle cut fries I've ever had are shittier than even the worst/cheapest fast food fries I've ever had.

Yeah. And when not engaged in criminal activity, blacks are pretty law-abiding. The fact of the matter is: blacks break laws and crinkle cut is never done right.

i like different ones depending on me mood

smiley potato faces

Those shapes maximizes surface:mass ratio what takes it down?

Steak cut because I don't like them being too salty/fatty. But then again I don't really like fries that much.

Why is nobody mentioning these? Do they not have it in the US? Don't know what it's called in English though, we call them boat fries and they are literally the best.

Canadian here, I have never heard of these, looks good

These are steak fries.

look closer

Crispy crinkle is best

Seasoned fries of any kind win.
But I like curly and wedges.

Wedge steaks?

Wut? they are like U shaped. Probably perfect for picking up dipping sauce.

would u stick a fry in a girls butt then eat it?

Depends on the grill but yes

those

they have them at a burger joint near where i live in it's just the way to go

I just get tired of regular fries, so I prefer any other kind except crinkle. Probably in order:waffle, curly, tot, regular, crinkle
duh

GTFO americunt.

her butt tastes the best

Speaking about fries, does anyone have any experience with electric fryers? are they worth it?

Popeyes fries are the most underrated fast food fry in the game.

>any experience with electric fryers?

Yes. They are awesome. Perfect temperature control without having to mess with a thermometer or adjust a knob.

Research models before you buy. Some are better than others. My advice is to buy a small commercial model. Those have two advantages:
1) they're super easy to clean
2) the heating element is raised above the bottom of the oil container. That means that crumbs and whatnot fall below it where the oil is a bit cooler. That keeps your oil lasting longer before you have to replace it.

Shoe string or waffle

Don't EVER use them on a surface with any sort of liquid on it.
My mother did that once. Bang, small explosion from the electronics, blown fuses all the way through, thing was junked.

Literally every place that serves crinkle cut fries either undercookes them and they are soft on the outside and hard on the inside, or overcooks them so that after being out of the fryer longer than 5 minutes, they turn into soggy mush.
