/k/, i've been carrying a kershaw blackout for going on 12 yrs now. this is my 5th one (i keep losing them)
i want to get something a little more expensive now. but i'm not really a "knife guy"
give me some options for under $300 and if possible with assisted open. i've gotten used to it and i like it.

i carry a knife every day regardless of what i'm wearing. i also carry a pistol. and yes, they come with me on a date or to a funeral or a meeting.
it'll just be nice to have one that's isn't the beat up as fuck one i use every day like the one i posted in the OP

This is more of a /k/ question but I'll bite.
Kershaw is good. Dont spend more than $50 on a knife if you keep losing them unless your taking the Mitch Hedberg approach. CRKT is another good brand if you dont want to spend too much.
