Is downloading small files over Tor adequate to avoid ISP pings for copyright infringement? I mean like 1.4MB ebooks

Is downloading small files over Tor adequate to avoid ISP pings for copyright infringement? I mean like 1.4MB ebooks.

Bump. I made a thread because there is no Questions that don't deserve their own thread thread, even though it probably wouldn't be answered.

You get copyright infringement emails for ebooks? I only had that happen with 10k-100k seed torrents of movies. Anyway, don't torrent and you wont get those notices. If torrents are the only option, stop being a cheapass and use a proxy, there are plenty of recommendations.

/co/ says it can happen from downloading comic books via non-torrent means. I have two strikes already so I can't take any chances.

I used a torrent cache website but its much better if I don't have to wait when finding a series I like.

What an incredibly stupid question.
Why are you asking this on Veeky Forums instead of /g/?

who cares everyone illegally downloads things nothing is going to happen

Because I couldn't find it.

People who aren't you care apparently. One more ping and I lose my internet. And as I own my home and Time Warner has a monopoly that would be a shitty thing for the long term.

lol idiots like you are deserves to be banned from the internet.

>One more ping and I lose my internet.
I'm told the cowards wont do it, but if you're afraid, use a VPN that advertises support for bittorrent. Some even accept payment via gift cards and other weird shit if you have maximum paranoia.

I bought a VPN but it made porn just slightly too slow so I refunded it. I just need to know if I'm covered because the pennyante downloading I do isn't worth $50 dollars a year.

OP, are you aware of the "humans are stupid as a rule, and people suck at doing shit right, look at scandals and how long war takes" argument.

There are about 300 million Americans.
We'll say 150 million adults, and 30 million that have the knowhow to illegally download and do so.
You have 1 out of 30 million chance of being caught outright, and only 1 out of 1000 chance of being caught if the company actively searches for torrents/downloads of their property.
Easier way to check on that is to google their name and the words "copyright infringement" and checking to see how many people are downloading something.
The higher the number, the chances are you will be skipped because companies usually only go after the first 200 they can identify.

I can't believe you've done this

I just joogled tor magic kingdom and picked a random image. I'm not even into women.

Just googled what magic kingdom is. Did not know. I just want free ebooks.

how did you even get caught

>I just joogled tor magic kingdom

I call bullshit nobody gets their internet shut off for torrenting

If you own your own home, and can't figure out how to avoid this on your own: PAY FOR THE CONTENT FAGLORD

Still no straight answer, is Veeky Forums not tech savvy? /g/ is being dildos and no one is answering my question there.

First time I downgraded from Windows 8 and I forgot to turn of torrents at X point so I was just seeding all day every day. The second time was for torrenting Blindspot. No peer guardian or whatever because I'm not very smart.

It was autocompleted google. Can't blame me.

You're wrong. Nothing more to say to that.

I lied. I live in my mom's basement. But she owns the home and Time Warner does have a monopoly in our area.

>ISP gets a threatening letter because I downloaded a capeshit movie
>They shred it and call me
>hey we got a letter that you downloaded a movie, we shredded the letter. How's your internet speed been lately? Anything we can improve on?

>Shitcast has a monopoly over my zone
>My alternatives are sattelite and dial-up
>Fuck you
>Prick
