The Residents t.b.h

/mu/core

GY!BE

ambient electronic, minimalist classical or something along those lines

That is the ugliest attempt at a sinusoidal I've ever seen before.

Autistechre

Im studying music, so im listening to math while i am practising.

youtube.com/watch?v=AaPl5xwX_-w
The streets

Precisely. Anything too complex or "good" always leads to me thinking about the music instead of my work.

hi-tech?
youtube.com/watch?v=eUnGX9MZVAk

true, most of what's worth hearing demands full attention

anything without vocals is ok though

I have the entire Ring Cycle by Wagner in my library, it's the shit.

Ozric Tentacles

>intentionally distracting yourself while you study

When working through proofs/theorems:
>no music
>ambient instrumental music, not complicated
>basically just stuff that's not distracting

When working on problems/programming:
>thrash metal
>speed metal
>post metal/post rock
>prog metal

Moe jazz
youtube.com/watch?v=XNRQoPjPtHc&list=RDXNRQoPjPtHc

You being a weeb loser aside, vocals = no study.

I listen to death metal like a sir

*tips fedora*

There are some instrumentals

Beethoven

youtube.com/watch?v=eq_wxMU9Tm0

I like simple repeating melodies.
youtube.com/watch?v=664nxe7JuXU
youtube.com/watch?v=ZVlONpAzXak

Videogame and movie soundtracks

Ambient soundscapes
White noise
Chopin

Katy perry

im the same way, i love listening to wind waker and ocaina of time tracks:

youtube.com/watch?v=7N247Jz4fXI

youtube.com/watch?v=fZdsd6mfQsI

youtube.com/watch?v=g93EqtwLHoY

youtube.com/watch?v=jr6CaMSZCnc

Radiohead, specifically In Rainbows.

...

Depends on what I'm doing. Normally wanky metal that isn't emotionally involved.

You listen to the same 40 minutes of music every time you learn?
You must not learn a lot.

Well, what can I say? I like the album. Besides, I also play their other albums, and other bands of course. But what I play most is In Rainbows. That is what puts me in mod.

Young Thug mostly

I dont,I need to focus.

>study
silence
>practice
mostly silence, sometimes a podcast or random song

It's rare to find such exceptional taste

Progressive trance:

youtube.com/watch?v=zbe3xsL5uNw

Eminem

Bohren & der Club of Gore
Boards of Canada
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble
The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation

I don't study theory very much nowadays. But to get energy when programming algorithms I can listen to:
>metal, rock operas
>uplifting trance

k user, show me the most beautiful sinus you got!

My man.

Bach and Wagner

math rock of course (^:

That's actually kinda sweet brot. Give me a couple more links.

>listening to music whilst studying
It reduces concentration and ability to perform at maths. It also reduces your ability to tell how well you're studying.

IL VOLO

I can't understand Italian so it doesn't disturb me, and I like their voice

Most instrumentals do fine
Occasionally even the soundtracks of my favourite games (Skyrim and Witcher 3 are my top pics: Most of Skyrim's OST, as well as Fear a Bhata from Witcher 3 and such)

based Vivaldi

only the deepest of house
youtube.com/watch?v=T25x5Wp2ldw

>music
does this count? (2hours office noises)
youtube.com/watch?v=D7ZZp8XuUTE
or this? (public safety radio transmissions)
broadcastify.com/listen/

if it's work that requires thinking i'd rather not distract myself with music

LUL

I'd puke.

>Not listening to Stochastic music, a genre literally crafted through the use of stochastic processes

youtube.com/watch?v=n2O8bMlEijg

I've heard deeper

xenakis

Schoolboy Q's new album

dark ambient until I finish because it makes me scared and puts me into a position where I should get it done ASAP so that I don't feel the spooks

youtube.com/watch?v=P_B_GalsJrE

youtube.com/watch?v=sWqsgEYNii4

I don't. It occupies a miniscule but not nonexistent portion of my concentration and so is a hindrance to my math studying.

kpop

HERE I COME CONSTANTINOPLE HERE I COME CONSTANTINOPLE I AM COMING CONSTANTINOPLE HERE I COME

i listen to portal stories: mel OST

youtube.com/watch?v=VfOkpzM5Lrs

youtube.com/watch?v=y5vd70oytDo

Well?

That's not deep house pardner

soundcloud.com/featurepr/angelz-volac-ass-shake-feature009

soundcloud.com/thisaintbristol/dakar-your-bass-original-mix?in=thisaintbristol/sets/this-aint-bristol-maximono_selections

soundcloud.com/crosstownrebels/jonas-rathsman-josef-salvat-complex-serge-devant-remix

eat my ass

Steven Universe Ost.
>In;b4: Fanboy.

dupsteb

Second one is better, this is what deep house should sound like though
youtube.com/watch?v=BZNgKZMRpsM

>a genre literally crafted through the use of stochastic processes
Almost ALL music composition is itself a stochastic process.

>Boards of Canada
>Jazz

This.

Vivaldi, the social network soundtrack or just nothing like old school mathematicians

youtube.com/watch?v=KCil-kLGkvc

This pumps my intellect.

This is a social construct.

I typically listen to comfy video game or movie scores

My most played are Oblivion/Skyrim, Mass Effect, LOTR, Lincoln, Shawshank Redemption,

Edvard Grieg - In The Hall Of The Mountain King

I don't. It distracts me.

Same music but different reasons, I just like slightly dark and monotone music, anything that's slow and has very few changes.
I was listening to this the other day

youtu.be/8MHEVy-Bm1g

Pretty good

Nujabes

youtube.com/watch?v=OzTUC-Co3AE

Not gonna lie. I play porn in the background if I'm alone. It makes studying durable because I don't want to leave the room.

nothing. i often get lost in the numbers for days then "wake up" not knowing where I was

Sleep research facility or any other white noise.

speed metal and speed metal only for studying

"ni al mismo putas le corro
yo no conozco el miedo
lo Ășnic que se,
es que pa' lante es pa'lla"

usted es muy teso 10/10

youtube.com/watch?v=JO-85Pr2fFY

I enjoy listening to chill dubstep or chill trap/electric music. Problem is any songs with vocals usually distract me when doing things such as programming, but programming without music is just too quiet usually. Overall, I really enjoy programming with music though.

japanese independent metal

I GOT BROADS IN ATLANTA

It's a pretty broad genre but here are some of the ones that most people can get into:

youtube.com/watch?v=Wh7CpJI_vgQ

youtube.com/watch?v=kbYlM1nOKzA

youtube.com/watch?v=PJdeCHPPa54

Beethoven

Techno and the likes, preferably voiceless

open.spotify.com/user/1147647349/playlist/5WYFIGORyfDSxxhxvZkEi9

Back when tiesto had soul

Looking forward to his collab with Zomby

feelsbadman his new stuff is fucking garbage :(. At least we still got armin

None. It's too distracting.
