Hey Veeky Forums how can you tell if you've written an interesting, well-developed character. I've finished writing the rough draft for my novel but I wanted to know if there were some ways to know if I was missing something when it comes to characters.

Character development is a meme. Post prose.

Waiting for prose OP

By showing it to other people.

You're a very imperfect judge of your own work. That's what editors are for. You've written an interesting, well-developed character when people with expertise worth listening to say that you have.

>there are actually 'people' who fell for the prose meme

I don't feel like posting my story on an Malaysian CP trading forum

What is your character like?

Is that Sam Hyde?

Show your work to some trusted friends who have some idea about the sort of writing you've done.

>prose is paramount
>posts Anime

Why am I not surprised

>Sjw comic
>Character development

Kek, your missing a soul yourself; so how could you ever hope to give even a little breath to a character?

Every 'anti-SJW' comic I've seen has been as cancerous, falsely equivalent and policing if not more so in all those fields than 'SJW' comics have

You sound like an early 20th century censor, babby had his feelings hurt by a meme.

The right were the ones who started the meme-war. We're just gonna win it. :^)

If there's enough of story to post that it might matter at some point in the future you could fill the entire text box and that would only qualify as an excerpt.

What you have is five pages (if that) of worldbuilding, some tentative first draught "meet cute" dialogue and some character design documents.

Not a story.

Compare said character to Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters characters. Does his story get you as excited as Marik's, Yugi's, Seto's, etc's backstory?

Otherwise, post the details here, and we'll judge. We don't care about prose, bro. Just tell us what's so brilliant about said character.

>We're just gonna win it.

Delusion.

nice try negroman

Stop disparaging Trump, libcuck.

Iknowwrite tbqh desu senpaillia

Well, for starters one character is a moderately autistic 25 year old NEET with some intelligence to make up for it.

A little girl with sociopathic tendencies with no regard to human feelings, however I'm planning on making her fall in love later on towards the end

And a basic albino woman who's feelings are very easily hurt, shutting herself in most of the time as a result.

>tfw I met my Muslim FWB yesterday while wearing my MAGA hat
>tfw she laughed and called me an asshole and demanded that I put it in a bag while we walked around some shops together

and they all pilot giant robots that are actually aliens

I haven't watched evangelion yet but if it turns out their characters are like mine I would be thoroughly pissed (at myself)

That's not enough to answer what makes them brilliant. At least post their character arcs. Looking for something more like pic related.

>not falling for the prose meme

Your character needs to have an internal structure and not be just a bunch of traits. Add an internal conflict, show how it affects your character's actions and how it is affected by the world around your character. Make your character change over what is happening to him, not necessarily "resolving" his problems. But show that he's not a static picture, that the story has an effect over him.

>tfw your side characters are always more interesting than your protagonist

fug

>tfw making your plot even more convoluted to make your original idea work.

>tfw find yourself writing something that happened in the star wars prequels.

help.

>Post prose.
>calls character development a meme

Why not verse?

I would piss myself laughing if you're actually serious.
