The japanese have an obsession with purity, and loss of purity/degredation is a popular subversion of that obsession.
The series in the OP is a great example of it. The girl starts out as a cute, clueless virgin. Over the course of the story, she loses more and more of that purity until the end where she might as well be a different person. The image of the two versions of herself in the broken mirror sums it up: she has been transformed from a cute schoolgirl into a completely baseless crack whore.

More often though you just see loss of purity by girls getting raped or being forced to do something they otherwise wouldn't, oh and of course they loved it because women are all baseless sluts deep down.
