What novel would you adapt for a feature length film production?

What novel would you adapt for a feature length film production?

j r or the recognitions. except for the recognitions I'd make it set 3 years ago and BTFO hipsters

You don't BTFO things, Anonymous, as that is ungrammatical. You BTFO of them.

It would have to be your pic, but I think it would work better as a cartoon series, instead of a full length movie.

I'd love to see someone do a modern TV mini-series of The Brothers Karamazov. In my opinion, I don't watch a lot of movies so don't take this as an expert opinion, here's who I picture in my head as fitting the roles.

Dmitri: Christian Bale
Ivan: Benedict Cumberbatch
Alyosha: Owen Wilson
Fyodor: David Bradley

Can't really think of anyone for Smerdyakov.

Can't wait until they make the Gravity's Rainbow anime.

I just started reading this book called Harry Potter that I think would be a pretty good movie. It's about a kid who goes to wizard school. Get that!

GR would actually be best as a video game directed by Hideo Kojima.

Please God don't let Hollywood defile these books.

The Recognitions could be possible if the director was (a) actually educated and (b) took a good amount of artistic liberties. JR is utterly unfilmable, and any attempt would and should utterly fail.

>google Gravity's Rainbow anime
>find a wikipedia article about an anime called 'Boogiepop Phantom'
>find this
>The title of episode eleven "Under the Gravity's Rainbow" is a homage to the novel Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, which is known for ripping the normal rules of narrative and character development wide open and covering specialist knowledge from many fields, and is subsequently criticized for being "difficult" and "unreadable".

Holy shit, you weren't even memeing me. Has anyone here watched this?

don't watch it;s hipster garbage

The Martian Chronicles

Also perhaps The Stranger starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

nah dude J R would be hilarious. the kid calling the shots from the phone booth then just following around everyone who works for him.

...

Infinite Jest directed by Quentin Tatantino tbh

J R would have to take serious artistic licenses but I think it could be done

As much as I love Alejandro Jodorowsky, he would fucking ruin Gravity's Rainbow.

Eh no thank you. It'll be Catch 22 movie adaptation bad.

>using old men for mid 20's characters
christian bale wood b tite senpai but fucking cumberpatch is a fuckin goofy lookin cunt, I would focus too much on that. Also owen wilson? Shiiiiet best acting he did was the shit in YEAH RIGHT - Girl ft Eric Koston.

Fuuuuck David Bradley pick though, would probably hate the shit out of it cause dude is a chump in game of thrones and yea fuck it might actually be a real good pick...
You shoulda chose cumberbatch for smerdyakov lad. OHJ FUCK WHAT IF DMITRI WAS SHIA LABEOUF OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FUCKKKKKKK YOOOOOOO BRB CALLING HOLLYWOOD ON THIS ONE (no sarcasm that shit would probably be fuckin off chops)

here u go

Atlas Shrugged

> JR is utterly unfilmable, and any attempt would and should utterly fail.

literally film different people talking

That didn't work so hot for Inherent Vice

retard

am I though?

Catcher in the Rye

The Five Ages of the Universe

yeah, easily

Barth's The End of the Road would be really good in the hands of a younger PTA.

I was going to watch it after watching a review about how Type-Moon and the current light novel scene developped from its influence; now there's one more reason.

not exactly, if you think about it

that's not just a shitty book it's already a shitty movie
