>caring about length o er substance

Fucking plebs.

Sounds fake

It's real.

>carin' about length o'er substance*
fixed

Posting from phone, my bad.

smooch

Let us say that substance = length x substance/length
Substance will be measured by a percentage of content density (1-100) and length will be measured in word count. Seems logical right?
Okay let's move on.
Now let's say the substance is really low. Like 1/100 substance points per word. So 1.

Now let's say Ulysses at 265,000 words is really high substance. Like 100/100. So 100.

So substance(Ulysses) = 100*265000 = 26,500,000
And substance(Mexikid) = 1*3500000= 3,500,000

Okay you with me

But by the time he's finished it will be something on the order of 6,422,018.

So like approximately 1/4 the substance of Ulysses.

That's at *least* enough substance to rival Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and most "Introduction to Existentialism" texts.

I'm pretty sure the longest piece of fiction is still Marienbad My Love at nearly 18 million words. People only claim that about the Brawl fic because it's funny to meme it

Here it is in 43 pdf files btw: marienbadmylove.com/download-marienbad-my-love.html

Don't forget to read the title.

That's completely retarded because length has nothing to do with substance. I've read 1000 page doorstops that were totally vapid and short stories that were brilliant.

What about Henry Darger's shit? It's supposed to be insanely long, isn't it?

I think that's 2-3 million words max, but it's still very long, yes.

>The History of My Life
>In 1968, Darger became interested in tracing some of his frustrations back to his childhood and began writing The History of My Life. Spanning eight volumes, the book only spends 206 pages detailing Darger's early life before veering off into 4,672 pages of fiction about a huge twister called "Sweetie Pie," probably based on memories of a tornado he had witnessed in 1908.
lol

>using substance to calculate substance
stick to literature.

Did you draw this picture?

It's not like I have subscript or superscript to work with. Maybe this will help explain it.

Substance[total] = (length * (substance per length))
therefore
Substance[total] = (length * (substance / length))

Similar to how
distance = (seconds * velocity)
velocity = (meters / second)
More abstractly,
distance = (time * velocity)
where
velocity = (distance * time)
ergo,
distance = (seconds * (meters / second))
More abstractly,
distance = (time * (distance / time))
distance = ((time / time) * distance)
distance = 1 * distance
distance = distance

>substance = length x substance/length
I know this isn't Veeky Forums, but still, man, although it's true, that's fucking stupid.

eh, it's a trick mathematicians and physicists use all the time

good god
that's looney toons esque

Sadly it has never been published
