I'm actually about to start it tonight
can I get a plot synopsis? some themes? at least a genre?
Genre: post apocalyptic
Synopsis: read it on good reads
Themes: government control
Very very good book
>post-apocalyptic
>government control
neh
You don't like post apocalyptic ? :/
it shares a border with fantasy, I'm wary of it. dystopian themes certainly aren't helping.
the only factor making me consider this book is the fact that its published by nyrb, they have a knack for good novels.
Just give it a shot. It's not a long read. I am thoroughly enjoying it.
Read it in a Post-WW2 Russian lit class in college. Great book, I agree.
It's A Canticle for Leibowitz meets Dead Souls. It's great.
I don't consider it comfy overall though, just in parts.
>not reading books by Tolstoy's great grandniece
>not trusting NYRB
I'll check it out.
Also she's related to Tolstoy? That's dope
Yup
I actually just started it after my reply to you
45 pages in, very interesting thusfar. It's made me smile pretty consistently
Have you read her short stories, also NYRB? Thoughts?
I have not found her short story collection yet in the wild
I've read some of them, they are also good. I prefer The Slynx though.
I too will read The Slynx
How close would it be to Lem or the Strugatsky brothers?
Anyone got a dl link? Can't find it on libgen or on torrents.
It's an 8 dollar book used
tfw that's on the green line in Stockholm, I pass by there often
Not everyone feels like waiting for it to be delivered...

Do you know who the red headed cutie is
Thank you kind user.
You're welcome :)
This is a cute picture.
>that scene where Benedikt has sex with like 4 different women in one week and the way the author describes it (through Benedikts perspective)
Good scene
Didn't realize how sad of a book this is
