truth is more beautiful than falsehood

I don't want to.

put simply, aesthetics are an appeal to truth. the latter is the source of the former; as such the greater relative magnitude of truth is naturally more "essential" owing to its greater proximity to the good.

Megg Mogg & Owl is by far the most millennial thing I've ever seen

But truth is relative to a chosen set of axioms, which is ultimately an aesthetic choice. You can say that in, let's say math, there are more and less useful axiomatic systems, ones which are simpler versus ones which enable more math, and what one chooses to value in those axioms is subjective, personal, relative to time/place/education, etc.

In what context?

truth, under my understanding, is the universal order which humans can only attempt to grasp at. it is not built on axioms -- we harness truth (perhaps more accurately stated as 'absolute truth' -- i can only assume what OP is referencing) and build our axioms based on the logical order afforded by our recognition of absolute truth. it is on these axioms that our human sense of truth, or 'relative truth', is built.

As a general notion. You can choose a specific scenario to analyze and make your argument in that context however.

>The three laws of logic and the Scientific methods are axioms that are preferred subjectively
Being optional (i.e. deciding or not to use formal logic to get to the truth) does not make them aesthetics choices.

Aesthetics that are not true are by definition propaganda. They can be preferred but that does not make them preferable.

Also, if it is true that aesthetics are above truth. Then truth is above the fact that "aesthetics are above truth" because you used a truth statement.

All power and achievements and success are derived from accurate observations of reality by either you, or some one else. It is the source of all actions that can fulfill one's wishes.

Desiring power and achievement in the literal sense and as abstractions is aesthetic in nature.

May be when you have enough food and needs that are met to think about aesthetics. But that is not the default or minimum state.

There are other theories of truth though. Like read Heidegger or something.

...

It is not. It provides the framework of the actions that bring power. Potential would be closer, Though even that seems incomplete

Hemmingway would slap you for such questions

View both as tools.

But 'framework' is interesting too

A framework. You taught me something today, thanks!

shut up you little bitch

good 1

Truth is more useful.

Do tell if you get a better word than potential though.

Aesthetics are found solely within truth.

Truth has weight?

Neither truth nor "aesthetic" are virtues.

Read your goddamn Aristotle. Virtues are characteristics that, if properly exercised, allow one to flourish. These characteristics can only be sensibly attributed to human being. Truth is something abstract--a property whose bearers are propositions. 'Aesthetic' makes little sense here. Do you mean 'beauty'?

>which is ultimately an aesthetic choice.
Kill yourself

Weight is potential.

Not OP.

Why? The clash of truth and falsehood can clearly be aesthetically pleasing.

People who obsess over truth are the farthest from it, and very often fall short in terms of aesthetics.

The Will to Truth, which is to tempt us to many a hazardous enterprise, the famous Truthfulness of which all philosophers have hitherto spoken with respect, what questions has this Will to Truth not laid before us! What strange, perplexing, questionable questions! It is already a long story; yet it seems as if it were hardly commenced. Is it any wonder if we at last grow distrustful, lose patience, and turn impatiently away? That this Sphinx teaches us at last to ask questions ourselves? WHO is it really that puts questions to us here? WHAT really is this "Will to Truth" in us? In fact we made a long halt at the question as to the origin of this Will--until at last we came to an absolute standstill before a yet more fundamental question. We inquired about the VALUE of this Will. Granted that we want the truth: WHY NOT RATHER untruth? And uncertainty? Even ignorance? The problem of the value of truth presented itself before us--or was it we who presented ourselves before the problem? Which of us is the Oedipus here? Which the Sphinx? It would seem to be a rendezvous of questions and notes of interrogation. And could it be believed that it at last seems to us as if the problem had never been propounded before, as if we were the first to discern it, get a sight of it, and RISK RAISING it? For there is risk in raising it, perhaps there is no greater risk.

Calm down Kant

>Calm down Kant
>Kant

Do you realize who he is imitating, fagtron

absolutely destroyed

man ur fuckin retarded for biting that shit tier bait. also im pretty sure its not an imitation its the zimmern translation verbatim

You'll die if you put aesthetics over truth if the truth is mission-critical enough.

It shouldn't. Truth was BTFO by the pragmatists.

total crap.

Good, user, you are learning. Read Rorty and complete your apprenticeship.

The Will to Power is the force behind the Will to Truth? Is this what you are talking about?

Would you rather have a beautify gf or one that's actually real?
